According to a book I have it is rare for babies under one year to contract chickenpox, especially if they are breastfed. Hope that puts your mind to ease a little.

Gracies nearly 10 months and she got chicken pox fron playcenter a few weeks ago. It has hardly affected her she hasn't been grumpy or anything, she's just got about 10 pox on her. It's better that they get them young so try and expose all your kiddies to it now. One of my girlfriends didn't get chicken pox until last year when she was 25 and she was sick as a dog for about 3 months.

I got it when I was 9 and just after that my brother got it....he was around 1 years old or younger....and I dont remember it to be a problem. We had a handful of pox and recovered with in days....
I would not worry too much.

I remember my Standard 2 teacher getting them and being off school for what seemed like forever. Of course it might only have been a couple of weeks, but it seemed like forever to an 8 year old!
