Hi ladies,
Posted this in the 2ww but thought it would be better here:

Can I please get some advice from PCOS ladies, had a blood test to check blood sugar and link to type 2 diabetes - glycohemoglobin I think - I got 31 and parameters are 29 to 40 but I can't find any info on these levels - so not sure I got the name of the blood test wrong or just can't find the right info

Any other info or tips & discussion would be great

Hi icecream - are you with one of the fertility clinics? If you are, you can give their nurses a call and they'll be able to tell you the info you need.

Hi Chan2 - yes with Dunedin but when I spoke to the nurse she did not know anything about it other than my result and the noted parameters.   Need to call about other results this week so can ask again then
Cheers

Basicaly your level of 31 means you're not diabetic and don't have impaired glucose tolerance ( the step before outright diabetes) but it has no bearing on anything else to do with your PCOS or infertility. Its checked because of the association with PCOS and Type 2 Diabetes.
Read the PCOS info on everybody website. This has a good summary of what you need to know.

Also, have you had a look at FetilityNZ website recently? They have new information videos on there which are quite helpful and there's one on PCOS.
