Topic: thin lining query and ivf Posted: 29 July 2013 at 2:22pm |
Hi all, was just wondering if anyone knows anything about having a thin lining? If you have a light period, does that automatically mean your lining is thin? My periods are quite light to medium, but occasionally are alot lighter. Has anyone had any success with increasing their flow.? I am having IVF next year and was wondering if anyone out there with light periods has had a successful result?Cheers.

Hi Peyepa I always thought I was lucky to have a light period until I found out it could mean a thin lining. I haven't been diagnosed as having a thin lining but have been having acupuncture to increase blood flow this can also help your lining If you are in Tauranga www.pureacupunture.co.nz Jackie is awesome and has a huge knowledge of fertility. She has helped me with asking FA for extra tests, etc as we have had 4 unsuccessful IUI rounds and are now looking to do IVF in November and wanted to be sure that there is nothing holding us back from getting a good result from our IVF round.

Hi Mrs I, thanx so much for your reply. I never even thought about telling my fertility doc about my light periods, didn't know it was an issue at all til I came on here and started reading that it could be a problem in IVF. I assume they can give you drugs to help when you do your IVF round, but I'd rather help things naturally if I can. Will definitely be giving the acupuncture a try, thanx so much for the recommendation! I live near Wellington and have found a acupunturist online who looks really good and who works with FA as well. I have lots of other health issues as well which I hope she can help me with! Want to be as healthy as possible when I try for my bub(of course!). Bit worried about how my body will handle all the drugs involved in IVF, but it's so worth it! Sorry to hear about your failed IUI's and wish you a BFP when you start your IVF in November. My IVF is starting in March next year, hard to wait but gives me a bit of time to improve things before then and hopefully get fit as well.

Hey Peyepa
I also used to have a really light flow - which my accupuncturist believed was due to insufficient lining. Since having accupuncture it really did increase the volume of my AF, and reduced any prior 'spotting' also.
I agree, Mrs Impatient, that Jackie in Tauranga is awesome! I have been to her too.
I'm starting my first ivf in November also

Wow, thanx Reddahlia, so happy to here that there is a solution to my problem! Will definitely be starting my acupuncture in the next couple of weeks. I have also heard that exercise can help to increase blood flow to the uterus. I am on my feet all day at work but still can't keep up when we go for a walk. Just need to get motivated!
