Hi
A friend of mine has recently been told that her DS2 (aged 1.5yrs) has a physical and mental disability. She may never walk, and will have trouble learning, but they don't know to what extent at the moment.
My friend and her husband sent an email to close family members explaining the situation. It was one of these people who got the email that told me.
I was wondering, do you think it would be a good idea for me to call and offer support, or wait until she tells me herself? I don't want to further upset her if she isn't ready to talk, but I don't want her to feel isolated, and I want her to know that we still think of her daughter the same way and always will.
yep do it send a e-mail or a card or ring if you can without crying just keep it simble and if she gets upsett tell her you are there when she needs wants to talk i would of loved that
I'd personally wait until she tells you herself.. Speaking from experience, I found it really hard when people I hadn't specifically told would ask/console me about DD. Its one of those things that you tell people when you want them to know.. Give them time they will tell you...
