Do your kids' kindys go on excursions very often?
Ella's did 3 last term and they've already got one lined up for this term.
I'm not opposed to them or anything, but for some reason it seems a little odd to me.
I don't remember going anywhere when I was at kindy, except to the park next door, and my niece who left kindy in 2006 never went on any trips either.
I guess I just think its a lot, and kind of unnecessary seeing as the kids are just as happy staying at kindy.
Just wondering if this is the norm?

When Nyah was at preschool they did trips, normally one a year. In her last year they went to Kelly Tarltons, only because they were learning about the sea etc.

Now that shes at school, they are going on one once a term, and they aren't cheap! So far this year shes been to the zoo, Kelly Tarltons and to a marae. Not sure what they are doing this term.. I hate to think. The Kelly Tarlton trip cost $15. *faint* These trips also coincided with what their focus was on for that term.

Hannah's kindy have an outing once a week but they only take up to eight children, so the kids get turns. Hannah seems to go roughly once every three weeks. We don't have to pay anything extra though; they go to the Museum, library, etc.

Yeah when Charlotte was at 'Kindy' they usually went on a couple of formal outings a term and then a couple more informal ones to the park down the road to look at leaves/trees etc or have a play. Maybe its something to do with kids being harder to entertain now days?

Same as busy mum as we are in Palmy they have a mcdonalds burger buggy here in palmy that does the rounds around the kindies, they do so many each term and the kids get to go to either other kindies or the libray etc, only for morning kindy sessions though.

my mum was just saying that its getting difficult for them to take the kindy kids on outings now as most kindys are going from sessional am (older kids)/pm (younger kids) to the longer 6hr sessions which icorporates all of the kids so its more difficult to take the older kids on outings as they are in with the younget ones too . if ya get what i mean.
