How to store dirty nappies?

So the subjuct says it all!! haha but anyway Im just starting to use them part time until I ran out of disposables and get more cloth, but I put my little fula in one last night and he pooed in it and I had no idea what to do with it!! So I just washed the poo off and put the dirty nappy in the bath until I did washing this morning. But I cant do that and im not even sure thats the right thing to do!!

So my Q's are do I just wash the poo off and put it in a bucket with or without water and with or without a soaker like sard?

Do I need to try really hard to get the poo marks off before leaving them for the wash?

And for any one who uses "mybaby" or "babyland" OSFA nappies off TM do you think you could put up a pic to see if im even putting them on him prob. These seem to be pretty good I put one on him yesterday evening at 5pm and took it off him at 9.45pm and it had no leaks!!!

Yep, like Aethalia said. I use a waterproof bag instead to store nappies in, then throw it in the nappy wash every 2nd wash to keep smells away, so that's another option.
If you think you haven't got all the poo off, you can do a cold rinse cycle before you do the proper wash.

Yea, I do exactly what's been said so far - and I agree with T_Rex, it's amazing what sun can do to poo stains.

But my main reason for posting was to say congratulations! I hadn't seen that you'd had your little boy

I put them in a bucket with a lid. I also add a few drops of lavender oil or tea tree oil just so it smells of something other than poo lol. No soaking. Sometimes if we have a bad poo nappy ill soak it on its own first just to help get poo off.

I then either wash daily or every 2nd day. I always do a pre wash first, then i do a normal wash after.

I love the Sunny baby nappies. But dd is older. I have no issues with stains either.

Do you guys use nappy liner things? Or do you recommed using them or not? If so what ones?

T-Rex, have you tried microfleece liners, or does your daughter react to microfleece as well? At least then, when you get to the 1-2 day old poos, if the stains are really bad its only on the liner and not so much on the nappy.

Leahsmummy, liners are a pretty personal choice, but basically you have flushable, disposable (e.g. cheap supermarket brands that aren't flushable) or microfleece (washable with your nappies) liners. They're generally not quite as effective with runny breastfed poos, but very useful when it comes to solid-fed baby poo.

T-rex, we use liners and are on a septic tank. There's not much difference between those and flushing toilet paper TBH. Better than sending poos to a landfill.

edited to add: the two liners we've been most happy with were bambino mio, and the ones you get from Nature baby. both seem great with nappy rash (ie absence of!)

That makes me not feel as bad about flushing liners here every now and then....

I find liners good when we are out and about with cloth, that way I can flush away the poo and not carry it in my handbag all wrapped up in the nappy!!

Re. flushable/disposable liners, don't you find them frustrating when they've just been pee'd on though? I agree they are good for poo and not having to deal with it but I hate having to use them only to bin them with pee on them.

yeah I still have a roll, but don't bother with them.
