Hehe. If I were in North QLD, I'd join. But I'd never live in Aus cos there are too many creepy spiders and snakes. Not to mention my weird relatives

Ah darn it, that would have been good!
We live half way between Townsville and Mackay..about 12000 km from Brisvegas...if we come to Brissie for a trip we should so have a meet!
I miss kiwis 
T-Rex...yip, lots of creepy spiders and snakes etc. Was a bit freaked out to find snake skins in the garden lol! And when we moved here with cat, I was paranoid he would either a. get eaten by a croc or a giant python or b. eat lots of cane toads and get poisoned...paranoid much???

Nat I am still paranoid and we've been here 4 years. I am always on spider and snake alert

Hello I'm up for a meet up as well :)
I've been over in Qld for two and a half years and I'm semi ok with the spiders - just not the adult huntsman. What I'm terrified of is the huge flying cockroaches!!! Horrible!

Hahaha the creepy crawlies did my head in & I was only there for a couple of weeks! The gecko's once I realised what the strange sound was were kinda cute & the green frogs 
But we were over there when that story about the big spiders came out. We were living in the suburb over from there! Was a little freaked out.
What a bummer that is really close! I would dearly love to move to Townsville but the work situation has fallen over now & we also go stuck back here temporarily. We'll probably move to Brisbane now. Not sure when though.
Nat, if you get down to Townsville you have to go to the waterpark on the waterfront! It's wicked. I spent a whole day out there hanging my preggy belly out

Ummm what big spider story!!!!! Waa, I thought huntsman spiders were big (but not so scary though they sure move fast).
Would be so cool to one day actually meet people from this forum!

Ok..just googling about the giant spiders and it sounds like they actually were in Bowen first...we live an hour out of Bowen so thank goodness they are not here!

I try and come over once a year to see my parents who are on the sunshine coast (Maloolaaba), when I know when I am coming over next we can try and arrange something.

I'm coming over in Sept to a wedding. We will be staying somewhere around by the gold coast. Not quite sure where our friends live.
They are pretty freaky giant things aren't they...scared the sh*t out me!
