My MW told me 2 years. But I never asked if that was from birth - start of pregnancy or birth - birth.

However I'm a firm believer that if your body wanted more time to recover from the c-section then it wouldn't get pregnant IYKWIM

My doc said I was ok to start trying when Spencer was 7 months. She said there would be the time that it took us to try plus the 9 months that I'm pregnant for. Apparently the stretching of pregnancy isn't a problem it is the labour itself. Mine was a straight forward elective and I healed very well, so that might make a difference. I would talk to your gp next time you are seeing them just to get a professional opinion.

My m/w told me not to get pregnant for atleast a year. Not just because of the c section but also because I had a horrific and long labour, so to give my body a good break after pregnancy and the c section.

I got pg 2nd time when Leah was 13 months, was never told a time frame, but I know people who were told to wait a year, only problem I had was 10 days before Joel was born I had a lot of pain on the scar, turns out I also had sky high BP (only time whole pg) and was having mild contractions.

When I was actually in labour had no problems from the scar at all, and I ended up having a forceps VBAC.

ETA: great name for your baby by the way and congrats on her birth.

We were told about a year by the Ob becuase I had such a traumatic and long labour and he thought I had issues that I needed to deal with post Emergency c/sect but my midwife told me 8 months is fine.

We started trying when Neosha was 9 months and just couldn't get pregnant with a sticky bubba, we had several very early M/C so we gave it a break and may try again soon. I also believe in your body knowing when it is ready.

I wasnt told a time frame either, but I think my MW knew after my experience I wouldn't be rushing into it. I do recall saying I was never having another baby, lol!

Oh well better be good this time

I might have been preganant last month and my MW said to me that the pregnancy itself isnt the problem its the labour. She also said(when i told her AF came) that she was glad as my body needed more time to heal after my traumatic birth.

I had a 48 hour labour ending in an emergecy c section, i also lost 1000ml of blood and had swollen bowels, not nice. So we are waiting until caden is rounf 10-12 months old. Just to be on the safe side!

I wasn't given a time frame at all so we let nature took it's course and there's 19mos between our c/s and VBAC babies. The OB I saw made no comment about it being too close and we had the choice of c/s or VBAC - no issues there.

I was never told a time frame either. 19 months between my 1st c-section & my 2nd c-section & then just a smidge under 2 years between my 2nd c-section & my homebirth. LOL I didn't plan the short age gaps it just happened that way... 3 under 4 has been fun though
