Ive had 1vb & 1cs, am preg now and will have c/s again my favourite birth by a country mile!
If I had a dollar for everytime someone told me Im only allowed 3 c/s I would be rich. thinking cos its my 3rd child I suddently have to have my tubes tied with my net c/s HELL NO!
Everyone has told me about the limit of 3 except the GP / OB / MW of course
saw a fewe mums around the forum have had 4 or 5
one of my friends had c/s, hosp vb, home vb, c/s in that order for her 4 kidies.

I chose to get tubes tied at #3's birth, but was nothing to do with # of c-sections. The obstetrician I saw said that while the risks increase after 3 c-sections, all c-sections carry risks so the added risk is minimal.

I've had 5 c-sects- emergency after 16hrs labour Sept 01, crash after 28hrs labour Jan 04, elective Nov 05 (though I went into labour the morning of), elective Aug 08, & an elective Nov 10 (started having contractions while waiting to go into theatre). My OB said he's done up to 10 (!) for one person.

I've had 3, and had my tubes tied during the last one......not because of # of c-sections but # of kids!! 4 kids under 3.7yrs is enough for us. I don't know anyone personally who has had more, but have heard of women having 5-6 c-sections.

i've had 2 so far, but will have 3 when and if we can have another. My OB said she had done a ladies 6th c section. So it depends on the person how well you heal and if there were any issues e.t.c

I have had two also. A friend who is a midwife & had 5 c/s informed me the record is a whopping 12 for one mum..

I've had 3. My specialist and I agreed to decide one at a time after each one (first emergency, second two elective after independent advice from 2 specialists). They reckon I could have one more. Will see how we go!!!!

I've just found out I'm expecting my sixth. And my old brilliant OB has retired. Feeling a bit lost!
