Topic: Ill have the PCOS with a side of endo Posted: 12 February 2007 at 8:33pm |
What I'd like to know is, how did I *not* know, until I requested a letter from my Dr confirming that I had surgery for endometriosis, which came with a copy of the letter from my specialist after my surgery, that I have PCOS?
See, that *might* have made a bit of a difference to how I *handled* things post surgery. It also explains a lot. Like, the ongoing weird and often random but strong pain ...the sort you probably get when ...oh, *I* don't know ...a cyst suddenly starts growing, or bursts maybe?? Bearing in mind that when they had a look inside me I had "multiple peripheral follicular cysts".
Huh. No wonder this pregnancy thing isn't getting itself on the road.
So, tomorrow morning I'm going to make an appointment with my Dr to get things rolling. We're going to go on the waiting list for IVF via the public health system - although we can afford to go private, we'll take the 2 freebies on Helen, and then it's just one less thing to worry about. It's something a friend and nurse who has seen many couples with our sorts of problems do the IVF thing.
Hopefully the waiting list isn't too horrid
Do you think this level of trauma qualifies me for a new handbag? ...you know, for comforting purposes? A new handbag can be very supportive when you're having a crisis!

That is so rude not to be told that you had PCOS as well. That would explain the pain side of things.

I love the sense of humour you have at least over this so if no handbag at least go buy something that matches that bloomin ladle!!!!
Your sense of humour and way of handling things and mine seem to be on the same psychic wave length today...do we laugh or cry!!!
BTW go the freebies on the govt...why the heck not...

I feel a bit like ...well, at least now I know everything.
I've got an appointment with my Dr at 4.30pm today, so we'll see what we need to do from here.
I think I'm going to have to go with the handbag ...since I already have the utensil set that goes with the ladle!
Thanks for your support guys

Jess - Nope! I'm hoping that with a male fertility issue as well, they won't waste time with that, and we'll go straight through to IVF and just be done with it. Hopefully!

How about a handbag that fits the ladle in it - that way you can take it out and about with you for bopping dense doctors on the head!
Fingers crossed for you that the IVF waiting list isn't too bad...

Oooooo ...now *there's* a thought Emma!!
I'll ring the shop and check the dimensions!!
Jess - DH's motility is a bit rough (50%) with 56% abnormalities.
So, everything combined is a bit ...
