how old is she ?
usually when C plays up like that , its because she is tired or overtired and ive found the best thing is a cuddle with mum , they just need a few mins to chill out and calm themselves down .
Even the big kindy kids, are still babies too

she's 4 I was just shocked she usually gets grumpy but not like that. She's not sleeping very well at the mo so that is probably part of it. So proud of DS not buying into tho

I would say not sleeping well is a big part of it , and heck , shes four, their mood changes like the weather .
Cuddles then a talk about her behaviour ,thats what id do , thats what I DO do , and it always works for me and C

It might be the weather & overtiredness from Kindy starting back...I'll warn you now...you'll get it next year at the start of school as well. I have a monster at home yet the teachers are so praising of her

She sounds like she is either overtired or missing one on one attention with you. Has she just started kindy for the first time or did she also go last year? Is it posible to reduce her kindy hours for a few weeks/the first term until she gets into routine etc? My 5yo still needed an afternoon nap at 4yrs.

Haha I've got a son at school too so I had that starting school thing last year least that was just attitude not this physical stuff. She wasn't so bad when she got home just grumpy at everything. I still thinks she needs afternoon naps and she was having them until she started kindy again but DH doesnt think she should be having them at that age. She's awake all through the night which I think is why she's so tired too...but I don't know why? She doesn't make a noise or anything she just lies there and DS has been caught out of his bed mucking around the last 2 nights too...during the day they are so tired with big bags under their eyes I'm lost

I take it she's at morning kindy? Maybe bring her home, give her lunch & put her down for a sleep for a short period? Stuff DH lol, you're the one who's dealing with it in the arvo. But she might not want to go to bed at a reasonable time?
Christ kids are hard, why don't they have individual self modifying instruction booklets that we can read!
Also I wonder if she's getting pushed around at kindy by some of the other kids & in turn is taking it out on her brother? Could you stay & observe or ask the teachers about it?
