Actually, that may be the wrong subject name since all the teenagers I know are far more respectful.  Maybe "my 4yo Empress" is more appropriate.

Anyone else have one of these?

She's a lovely, fun, polite little lady... much of the time.  Recently she's been so defiant and tries to order me about.  I'll ask her to do something like get dressed and she'll say "NO, I won't" or I'll serve up dinner and she'll announce "I not want this, you have to make me something else".  When she gets in an empress mood she has to be right.  It drives me nuts when she gets like this.

Oh yeah, I have got one of these too . Just about everyone of my friends with a 4yo has commented that this has happened. It seems that most of them woke up on their 4th birthday with a attitude.

We also have the random crying, falling down in a heap theatrics. That is great fun.

Sorry... mines coming up 7 and still thinks he's king of the castle.... The only way i can seem to get around it is to offer him choices as much as i can, and be very clear on whats non-negotiable... although he still tries to push that one too...
