I'm not on Clomid at the mo, but just read my receipt from pharmacy, says I have 2 repeats sitting there of it.

Should I pick them up to have there for future?

My gynae is gonna prescribe it to me in another 2 1/2 mths anyway if Metformin alone doesn't work...

I think 6-12 months is the norm. I was on it for 12months in the uk, but kept on taking it for another 6 as we moved back to NZ and had to sort out a specialist, but that was back in 2000 so it may have changed now.

I am currently on CD 8 as well & today is my last day for clomid. This is my first cycle taking them, hopefully i wont need to do another cycle. Have been getting the odd stomach craps since taking them, particularly worse this morning.

Bloods & CP testing on Monday. [:*:]

Hey everyone. Great idea to start up this thread with so many of us on climid. I was told to take it on days 5-9 and am up to my 3rd day taking it.(cd7). I think the pills are working cause I was really teary and annoyed at the most simplist (sp) things last night. Trying to dress my 2 year old when she didn't want to be dressed was just one occasion But feeling good this morning so it may of just been a 1 off thing. Anyway have been hearing some really cool stories of women on clomid and getting preggers on the 1st cycle so that is encouraging. Have a good day all.

Hi Noodle, and everyone else! :)

I'm not feeling too good at the mo :(
AF arrived while I was travelling back from the coast, most inconveniant!!!
And now I'm in so much pain (period pain), I can only remember one other time it was this bad and I couldn't move off the couch for days...
I'm going to go lye on the couch and curl up.. probably have a

Nurofen isn't touching it! and I've run out of synflex.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend

Posted By: Parks
Date Posted: 21 January 2008 at 8:59am
Hey there everyone,

Sorry wishin41 that your AF arrived, hope the pain has subsided by now.

I was on 50mg of clomid. My DH thinks that it has made me a little gumpy & he is considering going to buy me a miss grumpy shirt from JayJays for my birthday.

Starting Clearplan testing this morning, hopefully it wont be too long before that LH surge gets up there.

Heres hoping that it wont be too long into this year, when we all get some good news with little miracles.

Hello everyone. Well have finished my 1st course of clomiphene and the only side effect I got was having a cry 4 times in 5 days (poor DH). Am using my saliva testing thingy again so hopefully lots of BDing over the next week or so!!!
Sorry to hear AF arrived wishin41. Soundz like a real bad one.
I tried the non-alcoholic wine the other night. It cost $14.95 which is more that I would spend on a bottle (shouldnt it be cheaper with no alcohole in it????? lol) and it was pleasent to drink but probably wouldnt get it again as you are expecting that sort of tang and the end of the mouthful and it just dosent arrive. Oh well never mond. How are you other clomid girls feeling?

Hi everyone
When at the lab in Ellerslie in the weekend I was looking at the other women and wondering if any of them were you guys?
Wishin41, hope you're feeling better . BTW, I read that non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, which includes neurofen (and eveything with ibuprofen in it) and ponstan are best avoided by women tryng to conceive - something to do with hardening the outside of the egg.
Parks have you finished clomid now? and Noodle & Kobec - it's kinda handy to have an excuse for being emotional, don't you think?
We've had quite an eventful weekend - blood tests everyday since Saturday, and a scan yesterday which showed two eggies, one on each side - one 10mm, the other 17mm, and 'a nice hormone surge' showing on Sat's blood test - the nurse said at the scan that "everything looks ideal" woohoo! ! . But yesterday's blood test showed that eostrogen levels are a bit low, but I normally ovulate (I think) on CD15 or 16, so hopefully just building up a little slowly.
Sorry this is so long - trying to contain my excitement!

Hi all,

Still feel like but my friend brought me round some Synflex last night so that's been a godsend!
Thanks for that info Catie, I'd never heard that... would that include Synflex? Do you know?
Sounds good about your scan etc! Exciting :)

Lol my partner's not looking forward to the emotional side effect from Clomid, so he told me last night! I cry alot from it too Kobec, usually don't get upset easily at all!

Parks- What is Clearplan? Never heard of it..

Have a great day everyone!!!

Posted By: Parks
Date Posted: 21 January 2008 at 11:35am
Clearplan is that one that also detects when you are ovulating, its like a pregnancy test except it tells you when you ovulate, great for those in remote distances where their lab dont have the results the same day

Im glad to see that im not the only one on clomid that has moments.

Posted By: catie
Date Posted: 21 January 2008 at 11:47am
Sorry Wishin41, I don't know about Synflex. Since having acupuncture I hardly get any period pain at all, and now find I can get away with just 1 panadol.

Here is info about LH

Luteinizing hormone: A hormone released by the pituitary gland in response to luteinizing hormone- releasing hormone. Abbreviated LH, it controls the length and sequence of the female menstrual cycle, including ovulation, preparation the uterus for implantation of a fertilized egg, and ovarian production of both estrogen and progesterone. In males, it stimulates the testes to produce androgen. Also known as interstitial-cell-stimulating hormone (ICSH).

No they didn't check my estrogen they will probably do that tomorrow

Good question Lana, I'm a real fence sitter when it comes to making decisions, even when it comes to what day of my AF I'm on lol, my partner gets frustrated sometimes I tell ya!

Warning TMI!!!

What would you ladies count as day 1 for me?

-I got AF yesterday about 11.30am, light flow of old and new blood
-Today it's REALLY heavy and all fresh...

I'm supposed to take Clomid days 2-6.

Sucks your having a down day Lana, we all have them though! So understand how it is!

Thanks for that Parks, never heard of it before

I rang my gynae saying I needed some pain relief, some strong stuff just so I could get through the day... he prescribed me voltaren and have to take 2 panadeine with it.

day 1 is first day of 'real' blood i was told by the fertility clinic if it was before mid day its day 1 or after the next day is day 1 however there are others that have been told that day 1 is first day of real blood whatever time, i think it is just differing opinions of specialists sorry that probably just confused you more lol but i reckon if it was real blood flow by yesterday early avo i would class that as close enough to midday and day1 and take clomid today but i'm just impaitent like that hehe

Good morning everyone.

Noodle, hope you're feeling better? You were up and online early! Yep, I think i'll have my IUI on thursday - I normally O on CD 15 or 16, so just having daily blood tests to look for the telltale LH rise. Getting impatient!

Wishin41, I was told the same thing - CD1 is the first day of fresh red blood, providing it starts before 12.00 - if later in the day, the next day is CD1 (that's what Fert+ say anyway).

Kiwigal, how are your blood tests going?

Posted By: VioletStar

Thanks guys, I took my Clomid this morning... so today is going to be day 2 for me. Work up with slight pain today so I'm stoked about that! Can even get away with just a panadol.

I'm not too hopeful that's it gonna make me ovulate, granted I was SO resistant to it on my other cycles, but I would love to be surprised!

Good luck for your test Kiwigirl.. I only get day 21 progesterone done.

It's crap weather here today, lucky I'm going to be working inside so won't notice it...

Have a great day everyone!

From the other thread

My estrogen has dropped down to 379 the story of my life having my estrogen going up and down like a yo-yo.They want me to do another blood test Friday morning and if no go then my specialist wants to review it.

I spoke to my coordinator again and I can have my blood test on Thursday as back in November they missed my ovulation date by doing blood tests and scans on the wrong day.

I can't believe my hormones have been up and down a like a yo-yo and with my son I got pregnant on the second clomid cycle.

I wonder if there is anything I can do to help my levels go up.

hope the clomid is nice to you sara, and ya never know about ovulating with the met and clomid combo, i was really resistant to clomid on its own and did one round this month (first one on the combo) and my estrogen levels were way higher than they have ever been however they wern't high enough for ovulation but it stills gives me some hope that it may work one day (and hopefully on this increased round) hehehe so hopefully it works for you too!!!

Good morning everyone
Hey noodle, yay for AF and good luck for clomid & the next couple of weeks.
Kiwigal, any news?
Well I got a call from the nurse yesterday to say my LH levels are on the rise and my IUI could well be today instead of tomorrow, depending on the results of today's BT. So anxiously waiting for the call at 1.00 -if it's all good, DH has to get himself over to F+ asap and do his thing and I have to cancel a meeting and dash up from Hamilton where I'm working today - I was so sure it was gonna be Thursday.
Either way it's all very exciting!

Posted By: Parks

Yay it sounds like it is all going well, everyone getting what they want, AF arriving, LH levels on the rise.

Im waiting for my smiley face on my clearplan to tell me that i am O. Its very precise from what i could gather from the nurse the last time i did treatment.

Awesome Catie! Good luck for the IUI!!!!

Posted By: catie
Date Posted: 24 January 2008 at 10:56am
Hi everyone - thanks for all the good wishes - here's the news...
What a day yesterday was! I decided to say in the morning that I'd have to leave the all day meeting at 12.00 - felt really bad cos it was arranged months ago and a couple of people had come over from Aus for it - but ... even though the IUI might not have happened yesterday I didn't want the stress of getting the call in the afternoon meeting then possibly suddenly have to make my apologies and race away worrying about traffic etc. So anyway...
Got the call, and they said that there'd been a slight rise but they thought they may have missed the main 'surge' - that it happened in the afternoon the day before, so they thought we should proceed but do a scan first, just to check.
So I don't know how I got safely from Ham to Akld - not concentrating at all, but sure enough, empty follicles- so eggies on the move. Meanwhile DH had delivered the goodies and both the count and the motility was 3x higher than ever before! Clever boy! Plus it was combined with a previously banked sample, so together was pretty close to normal. So all in all, everything went perfectly - two eggs, perfect timing, good number of swimmers . So now I just have to try to remain rational over the next 2 weeks; all things considered we probably have about a 20% chance.

So I waffled on for so long - I'm so excited!

How is everyone else???
Noodle - first day of Clomid for you? Hope it goes well.
Parks - any sign of O?
Kiwigal - did you have your blood test?
Wishin 41 - You're so understanding - I'd be really frustrated if I was you!

All the best chicks!

Date Posted: 24 January 2008 at 11:28am
So glad Catie that you got to Auckland safely. Im sure that at the end of two weeks you will get your BFP.

No sign of ovulation yet, had to go for bloods this morning, but i am usually a late ovulator anyway, so hopefully between now & the weekend i should be away to have treatment, im sure of it.

I have to ask, how do i get one of those charts that nearly everyone has along the bottom of their message with their pregnancy weeks or cycle days

come on parks eggie! you can do it! hehe.... to get a ticker you can click on anyones ticker down the bottom of their post (apart from mine, my one is a fertility friend one that goes off my chart hehe) and it will take you to the website where it was created then you can create one yourself, once you have done that they will give you a code that you copy and paste into your 'signature' space in your profile of ohbaby hope that makes sense!

well 1st day of clomid and feeling good my side effects dont start until about end of day 2 on them lol
i found some boy leg undies in farmers with cow prints on them today and all round the waist band is written 'grumpy cow' hahahaha i had to buy them DH hasnt seen them yet i'm sure he will think they are very appropriate for the next few days hehe

Aw, thanks Catie... even though we've only been trying for 9ish months I kinda feel like I've gotten used to the disappointment so haven't got high expectations of my body working for me the way it should... And I've always known since I was first diagnosed in 2000 that'd it'd be likely I'd have fertility problems

But good luck for you!! Is so exciting

Your lucky you don't get them till then Lana, I get them within a few hours if I'm gonna get them..
I've had a slight headache for the last 2 days... ouch!
And like, 2 minor hot flushes so I'm thinking myself lucky so far
BTW, those boylegs sound so cute! And yup, appropriate too... I'm sure we all agree lol

Hey noodle Ovulation today! Yaaaaaaaaaaah. DH has just been out to play golf and when he got home smelt of booze. He said "I just had one beer". We have both decieded to give it up totally - him to improve his count so I a bit mad with him. Agggggrrrrr Anyway won't be able to stay mad if we going to BD tonight (tmi).

Lol I can so relate to what happened with your DH Kobec... hope you got that BD in :)

Well I took my last pill today, hadn't felt emotional so I thought I was doing pretty good, then the water wouldn't come out the hose when I turned it on this morning... well I couldn't help myself.. got so frustrated within about a minute I started crying Lol, can't believe I did it, I stormed inside and went into the bedroom, my DP seen it all unfold so fixed the hose (an attachment was too tight) and came in for a hug..

I felt like a right drama queen I tell ya lol

Hi Everyone,

I have been watching this thread for a while now and thought I would finally join in the discussion.

I started my first round of 50mgs clomid two days ago. So far, so good.
Have my first bloods taken next Thurs.

DH and I have been trying to conceive for two years now and I have got PCOS.

Hoping that one round of clomid is all I need......

Good luck and best wishes to you all on this clomid journey.

Yay for you guys finishing Clomid today!!!

It's nice to get it over and done with in a way, but then we have to wait for blood tests and ovulation (if we are lucky) then blood tests again lol

Noodle - Hey ya, I'm all good, I'm recovering from a sprained ankle LOL guess what I did... tripped over that bloody hose that I cried over on Saturday, lmao, couldn't believe I did it. And I was just about to get in the car to go to work so didn't have time to rest it, then rolled it again today... silly me!
So my boss told me to have tomorrow off so I don't do myself a proper injury at work and be off claiming ACC

Ladybird - Hey! I take mine in the morning just before breakfast since I have to take one of my metformin then too... do you have insulin resistance with your PCOS?

Hi everyone

how are you all doing? I haven't been on the 'puter for a few days - long weekend here, but I see there's lots of news...
Welcome Ladybird - I hope it all goes well and you get your BFP soon!
Kiwigal, how was your IUI? How are you feeling now?
Parks - sounds very exciting for you - good luck!
Noodle, yay for feeling better and finishing your clomid.
So that's a blood test for me on the 7th, Kiwigal on the 9th and Parks on the 11th - surely one of us will get a BFP!

But maybe not me...I'm a bit concerned that the IUI was on the wrong day. I normally have a 30 day cycle, and according to my charting, normally ovulate on day 15 or 16. I told F+ that, but they just gave me a 'what would you know, we're the experts' look. Anyway, had the IUI on day 14, even tho my LH levels weren't that high, cos they thought the surge had been missed and was on the way back down (altho I repeated my theory again). They did do a scan which showed my follicles were significantly smaller than a few days earlier, which supposedly means the eggs had been released, so I was pretty happy with that. BUT on Saturday (CD17)I had a very clear change to my CM. So either for the last two years my definite CM change on day 15/16 has been meaningless, or the scan was wrong/misread. What do you think girls???

Hi everyone. I am just lurking around at the moment in the tww mode. I still have just under 2 weeks to go but it is taking FOREVER!!!!!!!. Anyway I take my clomiphene just before brekky as well.
According to my saliva tester noodle I ovulated on day 14 which hopefully means that I will have a regular 28 day cycle for the first time since I can remember.
Wishin41 - I am really sorry bout tripping ova the hose. I can totally relate to what you must have been thinking (or saying) at the time!!! LOL
Catie - That would be really annoying if they did do the IUI on the wrong day - dahm why do you bodies have to be so hard to figure out aye. Oh well all the best for the BFP

That is really interesting that you all take your clomid in the morning. I was told to take mine before bed so that I sleep through all the side effects.... seems to have worked.

Is anyone else seeing specialists at IVF Auckland or are you all at Fertility + or Fertility Associates.
I am at IVF Auckland and find them really really good.

I feel sorry for you girls in the 2WW - that is a real killer, I am certianly not looking foward to that in a few weeks.

Wishin - I dont think I have insulin resistance, How would I know that? Surley I would have had that tested? Is it a blood test?

Ladybird - Yes they do a blood test for your fasting glucose levels and can work it out from there, I never had it tested when I was diagnosed when I was 16, only found out towards the end of last year through my gynae.
Might pay to mention it to your gynae/spec next time you see them, just in case aye.. better to know if you do have it so you can be put on Metformin

I wasn't told what time of the day to take my Clomid, I just automatically take it in the morning cos that's when I have my other pills.
I remember one cycle I forgot to take it in the morning (wasn't used to taking pills then) and took it about 8pm instead and still woke up with hot flushes... was not nice at all!!!

hi all!

poor you and that dam hose sara! hope your ankle heals quick

wow cheryl how exciting heading to oz, when are yas planning on doing that?

stink about the iui dates catie! hopefully it wasn't too far out and the swimmers hung around in there for a while then!

sending you kobec hurry up 2ww vibes hehe

cant help you ladybird with the insulin resistant people but i know some women (me included) are clomid resistant which mean we dont respond to clomid on its own. The specialists try us on a diabetic drug called metformin (which does something insulin related i dont know exactly i just take it lol) and then clomid aswell the success rate for clomid resistant women that do the combo is about a 40% increase in ovulation. dont know if that helps or is just alot more confusing lol

Lana our house is going on the market in the next couple of weeks. We are busy putting stuff into boxes that we are not going to use and stuff we don't want will either get sold on trademe or donate.I have got heaps of old linen that I am going to send to the Auckland Mission and Womens Refugee + our old crappy clothes.I think by the time we sell the house and settlement date will be at least June/July if all goes well.We are going to have a 2-3 month holiday going around and see what cities we like.We are going to Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra but I will rather be in Brisbane as I have got a best friend there our friends move over there a few years ago and I have a cousin there but Dh is not too keen on living in Brisbane.

I spent all day Monday packing and still looks like I haven't done anything.

I am 3DPO
