I have just read in the new mother and baby mag that according to a recent study - working mums have no child-free leisure time, and even SAHM's only have approx 24 mins a day IF THEY ARE LUCKY! Scary to stop and think about those figures and realise that , well, yes, that's about right really!
So, how about, we share what we like to do in those 24 mins a day, lolol, (or would like to do if we had the time!)
What's your favourite thing to do FOR YOU,
maybe we can all gets some ideas, and then make sure we actually get to try them out! he he he.

For me - what i WOULD LIKE TO DO if i had time, is actually get round to painting my nails again, lol, sounds silly - but i used to have beautifully manicured long polished nails, which always made me feel nice and dressed up lol, now, they are long-ish, but never have nail polish on them, are chipped and cracked and ick.. They always says it's the little things...
oooh, and i would like to spend the day shopping for myself, and actually come home with stuff only for ME, have time to try on 20 different outfits to find the right one, and be happy with my purchases.
- that sprung to mind cos i went last night to find some shoes for me.. spent an hour looking, with mike and paris both going nuts, and paris packing a tantrum cos dad had got her lollies which he said she could have in the car on the way home... so she just wanted to go to the car to have her lollies. I ended up with nothing.. left without buying a thing...
oh the things you take for granted before you have kids

that article must be a load, working mums get all breaks at work child free, dont tell me they dont have liquid ones occasionally. and i am pretty sure that some if us get more time than we realise too. i am pretty sure if i added up all the time i was on here having some "me" time it would be more than 24 mins. some days however i dont feel like i have been able to breathe on my own tho...
so me time would be if i could get a pedicure, or just wander the mall by myself.

yeah I think they mean actual time alone, to spend on doing something nice for yourself without having children or work to think about.
My breaks at study aren't child free.. lol. i have to spend each one over at the daycare feeding miss ayja - which i do not begrudge.. but sometimes just a lucnhtime to myself might be nice. lol. I'm sure if you remember when you were working - those little breaks in between didn't seem much - even befor eyou had kids.. for most, working mums, they are now filled with getting stuff for home, doing grocerys, and doing all the stuff they want to get done with no kids around like banking paying bills and buying the kids xmas pressies, clothes for next year and all manner of other guff. I think i'll sit on the fence for this one though cos i'm kinda on both sides, sometimes a SAHM other times a working mum. I spose working mums could argue that SAHM get time to themselves when their kids are sleeping (lol.. if you kids sleep, and if you don't have 3 days of housework to catch up on) argh, dilemmas.

My favourite thing to do happens when both the kids are asleep: Nat sometimes runs me a deep bath with a bath bomb or bath salts in it and hands me a book, and tells me to go and relax. He even brings me icecream while I'm soaking!

Becca, Rod does the same for me as well, its AWESOME!! (He also brings Jacob in if hes woken and upset....)
My fave thing to do is read int he peace and quiet, with my dog on my lap, listening to the birds outside!
I also like the idea of being able to go shopping and actaully get to try things on!!! I badly need some togs, and I will need to try those on as you can't return them!

The best baths are always the ones I don't realise he's prepared for me, and my first inkling is being handed the book!

Mmmmmm... being able to try on clothes without having to run out of the changing room half naked to try and stop Devil Child from busting in on unsuspecting shoppers.
Now that'd be great

i so know about trying to get buggies into shops - my dble stroller can fit thru normal doorways so its not that big but some shops just dont cater. i often wonder about ppl in wheelchairs 2. and just gotta say my least fav shop to try and shop in with the boys (due to lack of room to move) is glassons esp the one in palmy. when its busy there is nooooo way i can get in there which sucks cos i love their clothes.

I used to enjoy my one hour commute to work for just being able to read. I'm a big bookworm and I really miss reading something that isn't about bloody Spot or Hairy McClarey!!!! Sitting with a coffee not worried about munchkins spilling it ( i now drink lukewarm coffees or iced so i can relax)

I know what you mean about Glasssons K&J's mum, I just have a Triton Trecker 3 wheel sporty thing and I usually have to go with a mate, get them to watch Arna while I go grab some clothes, show my mate if they approve then go try them on and THEN get them (if Arna isn't screaming her head off by then!!)
Me time is SLEEP, swimming at the pools/beach (impossible with kids!), or just reading 2 chapters or more of my book!!
Don't mind taking Arna with me when I get my nails / brows etc done (once in a blue moon) cause ALL beauty therepists ADORE arna so they look after her and I relax!! Its great

I got all sorts of looks in Kmart when I bought a sized small long-sleeved top 10 days before Josiah was born. Actually, it was a birthday present for my sister, but they didn't need to know that!

lol, yeah - i went in when heavily preg with paris - to pagani to get a top to wear to mikes work do. they didn't quite seem to get the idea that i just wanted something i could stretch over my tummy, that was adjustable - so in the end i grabbed a top myself and it looked so much better... they were trying to get me to get things that were terrible!
i have no tried on clothes since before i had paris.. mike doesn't like getting stuck in clothes shops, and boo hoo, usually when i go up town it's by myself,
