I went to see the doctor last week who has put me back onto Citalopram - I had managed to come off it by myself about 2-3 months ago and had felt fine. She decided to do this as I have had so many colds/virus's/flu's this winter that she thinks that my immune system is depressed.

I had bad PND when Charlotte was about 7 months but since then, I have returned to work and thought I was feeling much better.

I have had depression prior to having her - but I just wanted to know if this still a continuation of my PND? Or is it normal depression?

What you may find is that the viruses etc can tend to get you down and put you into a spin very similar to the state you are in after having baby - ie tired, sore, not feeling like doing much - all of which can trigger off the same old feelings of PND and depression - it kind of all mixes into one. Chances are your doc would know this sort of thing happens. Here's hoping it was a bump in the road and once summer comes and you're back to feeling like yourself then things will iron out.

I still find that when i've been sick (such as i have lately) all the old things come back, the grumpyness, the crying, the anxiousness, the insomnia.. all goes hand in hand - it's usually a sign these days that i need to back off and take care of myself cos those days i had PND when Paris was little were just horrible and scary and i don't want to back there.
