about the strange pain thing I'm getting.

He tested my wee and that is fine and he has taken some bloods and I am going to see the female doc on Wednesday for pelvic exam and swabs and will get a smear done at same time (i know wimpy to see the female doc but he offered).

He thinks it could be ovulation pain as it happens mid cycle but thought it was odd that I could feel the pain across from hip to hip and that it was uncomfortable to pee, sit down, stand up walk etc. When he felt round my tummy it was actually v.painful on the right side and only slightly painful across the middle and on the left side which makes him think that it is most likely ovary related.
He was also quite concerned that my periods have both been so heavy and painful and said it could be sign of an infection which is what the bloods will be looking for.
If the bloods and swabs don't show anything then he is gonna send me for an ultrasound.

He didn't think it would be scar tissue causing it.

I hope you get to the bottom of it. Did he mentions cysts at all?

No he didn't actually mention cysts but did say that it could be something to do with my ovaries and I guessed that if they do an ultrasound thats what they would be looking for.

As an idea I think you may have cysts on your right ovary and when the egg is released it leaves behind the "sac" it was in and that is the cyst, then they burst and that is what hurts. I have had that many times - my gyne watched one of mine burst while I was having surgery.

So does that cause fertility problems? or is it just a nuisance? and do you have to have surgery to get rid of them? do they come back?

Hasn't caused any fertility problems yet and yes it is a real nuisance.

My gyne didn't want to remove them as he was worried that I may lose my ovary. They come back every time I ov from that ovary, it's like I can feel the egg leave my ovary and travel down the tube.

Thanks mummy_becks, hopefully I will get some answers either way soon. How long do you have the pain for when you get it? or does it vary?

I usually get the pain for a few days from when the egg leaves the ovary and once it is in the tube the pain goes and then comes back in a different area when AF visits.

Well I had pelvic exam yesterday, she said that there doesn't seem to be any sign of infection (but has sent off swabs to make sure), when she had a feel around she thinks that she could feel something on the right and thinks it is most likely a cyst so has referred me for a scan. Said it would be 2-6 weeks to get appointment or about $160 to go private, am gonna wait for public system as isn't too bad. Everything else she said looks good, uterus has contracted nicely etc.
Bloods all came back normal apart from being aneamic (sp?) which I thought I was anyway and had been taken iron tablets, so she has given me some higher dose ones.

so just waiting now....swabs should be back tomorrow and smear back on Monday, then just a case of waiting for the scan.

I asked her tons of questions about cysts and am quite happy that it isn't too much of a problem if thats what it is.
