Hi,
I'm not in Arrowtown but in Clyde...looking for Central Otago mums ... I am 37 weeks pregnant and counting down - first pregnancy and an older mum-to-be (37) with shared care (week about)with my partners kids - 11 and 14 and their mum.

I have limked with La Lache in Alexandra which is a great group - quite large for the area I would have thought and have kept in touch with our antenatal group.

Get back in touch if you are interested in keeping contact.

Hi,
I am doing ok generally, not too sure what to expect but trying to go with the flow...having tired patches and then energetic patches in the day. With the kids being here week on/ week off I get to sleep in a bed on my own for a few days this week which helps with the energy levels!
I am hoping to birth at Charlotte Jean in Alex.

Are you pregnant too or busy enough with one at the moment?

Heather

Not pregnant with #2 yet but we hope to be some time this year :) Amelia and my home business keeps me busy enough, poor hubby feels like he never gets any time with me!

Hi Rowen and Louise!

Hi Heather and Louise

I've been a bit slack on the computer this last week. You might have had the baby by now Heather but don't worry if you havn't, I went to 42 weeks with Jasmine.
Mother and baby groups are quite good here in Cromwell. There is a playgroup at Lowburn hall on Friday mornings which is very popular and Plunket tries to organise groups for similar aged babies. Whose your midwife, I've got vicki Macmillan, shes very laid back which I find great for my second time around.

Hi all,

Well I have had a baby boy - Andrew, 8lb 1oz on the 9th March. All went well and all are healthy now too...tired though with the broken nights!!

I have Vicki as my mw too - Jan and she both were there to get Andrew into the world so it was great, and yes she is laid back and relaxed with is a great thing for the post natal bits too.

Getting into the swing of life around home with a wee one and getting local support from friends and other new mums too.

Good luck with the pregnancy Rowena, I'm surprised there aren't more people in Central in this discussion??!

Heather

Congrats Heather :)

I think mums in this area don't seem to visit forums as I haven't really found many at all!

Hi Louise, going well generally - but feeding constantly it feels some days and then having to catch up on sleep sometime later in the week - or the next week if I can!
He seems to sleep at night with 2-3 feeds and awake for most of the day with cat naps. Just got the buggy sorted so he is comfortable going for walks and also have a sling and a front pack that he is ok in for a wee while each day so I can get some things done between feeds and play time now - otherwise I am forever running to his cries from the bassinette...figure at 5 weeks a routine is a bit of a luxury and that he can be indulged a bit now, am demand BF and he is growing well by all accounts.
We have started going to the PlayCentre run SPACE group in Clyde - Tuesday afternoons - learning about babes and their development with other first time mums from Central Otago - Cromwell, Alex area mostly I think. Seems to be a good group although hard to get organised for an outing on time!
How is it all going for you both?

Heather

Great to hear all is well Heather!!
I'm busy this month, taken on a couple of extra jobs and my business is busy this month which is exciting. Have just signed up to do some radio advertising which will start this week. If you listen to More or Edge you might hear the advert!!
Amelia seems to be in the wars at the moment with forever hitting her head poor wee thing has got a huge bruise/bump on her forehead Learning more words each day, I can barely keep up with them. One day she is just going to come out with a big long sentence and I will be like 'huh? OMG!'
