hehe I knew my hint would work.
Sorry girls but thought we had better make way for all the new Feb/March 08 mummies.
I wish Miss Lyssa was still a baby I think she is starting the "Terrible Twos" already she's throwing the best tantrums when I put her into her pram or the car seat.....she just wants to be free to run around.
And Mum2Sam the more the merrier .

hails - id given up work this time last year, was sitting in my paddling pool moaning about the heat, drinking a heap of milk and going in and out of hospital!!!
LOL when people ask "so when is the next one" cause the response they get is how miserable i was last year, etc etc....
note i am ignoring the whole "toddler" thing...despite the fact that we can now RUN!!!! OMFG!!!!!

OMG, Ella is running already BS Why doesn't that surprise me.
Hehe SB, I know the feeling - it's not happening!!
My little evil conevil can't even walk yet but has decided to start climbing things I am constantly having to rescue her from the rebounder, the tray of her little highchair and the chair in her room
Today's trick was playing with the soap on the side of the bath and letting go - took her a good 15 seconds to realise she was standing by herself
Unfortunately instead of being all proud all I could think was oh no here we go

Arrrggghhh I dont want to think of them being toddlers yet either even though I too had a runner. They are still so little, surely it cant be that close to them being a year old, it has gone so fast.
I just now need to work out how to keep him from running too far, tried to run out of the material shop yesterday because he saw he could get outside

Josh has started the standing by himself but he is still my baby not a toddler yet - i'll wait till he goes to the toddler side at daycare to be a toddler.

Alyssa's new trick is climbing on things she managed to get up onto the coffee table, she stood up and clapped as if this was very clever grrrr little monster. She does this all the time on her little chair as well so I've had to move it so she doesn't break another leg .
I've been trying to get a nice photo of her for ages but as she wont stay still I usually get the back of her head or a photo of nothing. When I get time I'll put some of my attempts from the garden on the photo gallery.

Lol BS - I have said pretty much the same thing to people, in fact someone asked me this morning and I told them when Elle is old enough to be going to a big bed then we will have another one. Don't really want to have 2 cots!
Caleb is running, wow! You'll be busy keeping him out (or in ) of things!
Shaz, we have a wanna be climber here, she (unfortunately for her) doesn't really get too much of a chance to hone in on her skills.
Elle is standing and walks madly around behind her stride to ride, I am not doing to much encouraging on the walking front! She is certainly busy enough without being able to walk.
And I read somewhere the other day 'toddlerhood' starts at 18months, so I am sticking with that!

I'm going to get Josh moved to the Toddler side of the daycare house (its cheaper ) as soon as he starts walking. Then he can move to the preschool at about 2 1/2. When Andrew was moving to the preschool I waited for a long as I could to move him as I didn't know the staff now I can't wait for Josh to be there.
In early childhood they class an infant from birth to 18 months, a toddler from 1 year to 21/2 and a young child from 2-6.

OK i'm not posting in that other one anymore... Its getting too confusing!!!
Caleb is running??? Wow!!
Noah has taken a few steps unaided for the last two days. I am yet to see it. He doesn't like it though and DH has had to trick him to get him to do it and when he realises, he plonks himself on the floor and yells at him LOL!! My boy is such a character.

SNAP - i too thought OMG Caleb is walking already!!! OMG he was so little when i last saw him!
Lady in a store thought ella was turning two and was a little small compared to her grandkids....LOL!
Our latest is coming to kitchen and taking mummies hand and leading her to **insert whatever ella wants here**
I think watching ella on emmaroses roller coaster birthday thing showed me the HUGE jump she has made recently....from bubba to toddler!

Yea it is a bit scary that I have a runner, who can also climb. I think he is trying to make me go grey premuturely.
We have a bit of the leading to what we want to do, but usually it involves pushing mummy to where he thinks I should be. The worst lately is when you got to put on shoes and manage to find one but have to hunt the entire house for the second.
Ella is a very clever girl, I am not surprised she is doing the walking thing.

OMG my baby is one today Can't believe how the year has just flown by. He's such a cool little kid, growing and learning and so much fun. I had the day off work and DH, Noah and I spent it together. I cooked brekkie and Noah only ate hash browns but managed 4 and a half . We drove his brother to school and then he had a nap (so did I) and when he woke up we toddled off to chipmunks for a play. He loved it there. We went to his fav cafe for lunch where he got spoilt by his special GF and then back to pick up big brother from school. Noah discovered KFC fries last week and loved them so we went there for dinner and he was in heaven. Enough junk food for one day methinks. He opened a couple of pressies and just had an all round fun day and now is tucked up and fast asleep. Awwwww - sooooooo cute.
Gabriella is sounding more and more like a little toddler. Cute. Can't wait to meet her!!

Alyssa did the cutest thing this morning she was holding a baby doll and rocking it and saying ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh. So so cute, I wish I was fast enough to get it on camera.
She has been patting/rubbing our backs when we give her a hug for ages but this was even cuter because we had never done this with a doll before.

Shaz, Alyssa sounds so cute!!
Sam has just started really hugging by putting her arms around your neck and squeezing. It is so nice!!
Sam fell asleep in her highchair mid biscuit yesterday, could possibly be the cutest thing I have ever seen. Still stuffing the biscuit in her mouth while asleep though. LOL Why is there not a camera handy when you need it!

Mum bought Alyssa a new baby doll this morning for her B'day. The one she has been playing with is Alex's old doll and she's a bit scary looking now. Her eyes have faded to purple and they don't sit straight...I can't wait to chuck her out is that mean? She was well loved in her day.)I'm sure Alyssa will love her new doll. Now I have to find something to buy her. Thinking thinking .......

Well, we went to Nelson and met up with the Bombshells on saturday. Absolutly sh*tty day weather wise (and my car battery died, so they had to wait for me, I was sooo late).
Anyhow, lovely people, great to meet you guys, and OMG Ella is soooooooooooooooo cute. Jake was quite taken with her (or was that the other way around? she kissed him, lol) and Charlotte kept taking tumbles from the playground steps, and got absolutely saturated.
Nice to meet you guys, and I hope you can come and keep us company at the airport in august! Oh and I remembered how MHJ make a profit on those bracelets, too.

ummm Daddy bought ella a pressie at MHJ....was too cute to leave there...anyone else found the HOPE bracelet? $20 goes to charity...and it is DIVINE!
Also spoilt a certain bubba at hoglund art glass gallery - heck she is only one once! and then in Mapua we got her THE cutest straw hat = think boxing day at the races in bubba size! sooooo cute!
Daddy and ella been sick over weekend....both grots, both went to see doc in nelson today - both have a viral tummy bug!!! argh Annie I apologse in advance if J or C get it!!! or you!!!
and came home to find a pressie from grannie for ella in lounge...a PLAYHOUSE!!!! yes spolit is spelt Gabriella!

You guys sounded like you had fun.
Josh saw the paed today as a follow up. He was all good so completely discharged YAY. If he gets a temp we have to Pamol straight away and if it doesn't come back down in 2 hours to high tail it to the dr or hospital if after hours as he is at risk of another convulsion.

BS it sound's like you guys had a great time despite the tummy bug. Now I suppose it's full steam ahead getting her party organised. I hope it all goes well. You may have to get a bigger house to put all of Ella's stuff if she is already getting huge pressies before her B'day.
I'm glad to hear Josh is better Becks. Hopefully that never happens again it's just too scary for his poor Mummy. Hugs.
Well we are off up North on Thursday. Really I'd rather not go but as it's a big family thing I don't have a choice. I'm such a home body I hate going away ...unless it's over sea's (Sydney, Melbourne, Disneyland!!!) Ah well back to work soon and I might be able to start saving once all our debts are paid off.

Noah was so sweet holding on to BS at the airport and laying his head on her shoulder - awwwwww. I'm sure he wanted to stay. Prob to play on Ella's slide. My mum has promised him his own.
It was so cool meeting Sterryn and Sam and Yummymummy and Gina and seeing other mummies and babies again. The birthday party was as good as it looked and Gabriella got the bestest pressies (esp from me LMAO!!)
BS, BSDH, BBS and Grannie were so kind to open their home to us on such an important and busy weekend for their family and I am so grateful. They took extra good care of us and really made our stay lovely. Thanks guys so much.

Thats so cool that you came up for the party Leish. I bet you guys had a wonderful time.
The countdown is on now it's only 3 weeks today that I will be back at work I don't want to go, I don't want to leave Alyssa at daycare . I want to win Lotto and stay at home !!!!!.
Her first two visits are booked and her first day is the 31st. I'm not working that day so I'll drop her off in the morning and get her early afternoon if I can wait that long. Time is just flying by as we have such a busy month this month. I want it to slow down.

I wish I had a reason to change my ticker!!!!
My little miss is sick at the moment she must have caught something while we were away because both her and one of her cousins have runny noses and fevers etc.
She's kind of up and down, one minute she's playing the next she's snuggled up on my lap looking all sick, then she's off again. I took her to the Dr and he said there was no infection that he could see so it's just a virus. Poor we thing hopefully she will be better soon.

Happy birthday Elle for yesterday.
We've had an eventful past few days. The boys had nana (my mum) stay with us for a couple of days. Took the boys shopping and they got spoilt. Then we had the daycare issue and Josh is no longer in daycare. And the good news is we are moving up to Waiouru in Julyish.

Well....My baby girl is one!!! Can't believe it! Poor thing spent her birthday blowing snot bubbles out her nose, coughing and sneezing and she is still a bit miserable. And then I spent the day with a miagraine after having the laundry cupboard door come smashing down on my head (ouch!!!), but she had a lovely day other than all of that!
She got heaps of books, a table and chairs, bean bag, clothes a few toys and a personalised height chart, one very spoilt bubba!
Sounds like Ella had a great day on Sunday BS - checked out your pics on FB - SOOOOO CUTE!!!!! And sounds like Noah had a great time too!
Been very busy at work lately, back to 5 days next month, which won't be so bad as I have been doing over 40hrs in 3-4 days a week so will be doing the 40ish hrs over 5 days, which is probably better anyways. On the up side of work, I am only about 5kg off pre-pregnancy weight now (YAY!!!) and can wear my old jeans again, although still a tinsy bit tight, but stoked about that!
Mum's operation is next week so have been getting a bit nervous bout that, we also found out the other day that MIL will have to have an operation and possibly chemo for a tumor she has had in her head (had the lump for about 2 years but it has grown so they think its best to remove it), so kinda scary in our household atm, with both our Mothers having tumors, but we are trying to stay positive about it all, esp for both of our Mothers, at least they are both able to have operations to remove the tumors. Does make you think though......always appreciate what you have while you have it!

Happy Birthday Elle!!!!
And big Hugs hails for you, your mum, MIL and the rest of the family. Hope all goes well.
Gee lost of spoilt Bubbas on here.
I still haven't found anything for Alyssa, and her birthday is on Tuesday. So I guess I'll be shopping all weekend. There is a new Toyworld opening Saturday at Westgate so I'll be up there bright and early as there should be some good specials. Then I'll have to also check out the PP outlet store and JK for some new clothes.

ok so i officially am the mother of a bully!!! yes i know she made Noah cry but today at DC she got taken aside and told off and made to apologise to one of her little friends...apparently she scratched her! ugh i bet she did too as one of the older kids was doing it over xmas etc and she picked it up off him at DC...apparently her little friend will rettaliate to anyone else who bullies her - except to ELLA! oh dear....not sure how we are going to stop the swipe and scratch movement...I have taken to grabbing the offending hand and telling her NO and NAUGHTY girl...and then saying we dont do that! ugh i created a bully!

Oh dear BS! Don't worry Elle has been known to do the quick swipe sometimes, this morning she even wacked me on the head with MY hairbrush (although I do think it was the case of my head more getting in the way of her madly waving the hairbrush). Hope you get the issue sorted quickly.
Is anyone weaning their bubs onto cowsmilk? Dh and I discussed it the other night and worked out it'll probably be cheaper for us to keep her on formula atm, can't believe the dairy prices atm!! Up until a few years ago we got free milk straight from the vat (mmmmmm....yummmy!!!)

well ella is havig real milk (green or lite blue as we dont do blue top here) on her rice bubbles in morning...but thats about it...she is fine with dairy and is now having cheese and other stuff - still bit weary on the luncheon and high preservatives.
my dilemma - and might do a post about it...is should i change to toddler formula (stage 3) of s26?? we are on 2 - which says it goes to 24 months but then they have a from one year mix too....argh?
|

Elle also has a fair bit of dairy in her diet, she LOVES yoghurt, cheese etc, and had scrambled eggs yesterday (for the 1st time and loved them!) with milk, so definately no issues with dairy here, although as I said above it works out cheaper to give her formula and also means I know she is getting the right vitamins etc as she can be a bit fussy sometimes with the food she eats.
Oh and I posted in the other thread about the difference that I could see in our formula, but perhaps have a look on the side of the tin at the supermarket next time you are there.

yeah ella loves her yoghurt....and milk was given to her before i knew it...daddy was putting real milk on cereal...i thought it was formula! good job no allergies huh?

hmmmm I wish Alyssa would drink some form of milk, she hates it all. I get away with milk on her cereal and she eats cheese and yoghurt's but if I put milk in a cup she takes one sip them spits it out . That is the only reason I haven't completely stopped breast feeding. I'll keep on trying and maybe she will drink it at DC it's funny how they eat and drink things for other people that they will never have at home.
I went up to the opening of the new Toyworld at westgate this morning to have a look for a present but nothing really grabbed me. I'm kind of over all the little toys and she really has enough junk for now sooooooo, I bought a Barbie Quad Bike ooops wasn't supposed to spend that much. But it's cute and it was 1/2 price!! So she now has a present she can't even use for ages. Oh well she wont know and I'm sure she will get lots of other pressies from all her cousin's that she can play with.
Oh yeah I also got a Quick Smart stroller for $49.00 which is really cheap RRP is $159.00 although I have seen them for $65.00 buy now on trade me (so still cheaper). I got it JUST IN CASE we do ever go overseas. Someone needs to cut up my credit card right now !!!!! I'm going to spend the first six months of work paying it off.

LOL are you grannie in disguise today!!! we have a ride on pedal tractor and not sure how long before she can use that!!! but that barbie quad is mega cool...wont be too long...kids in the usa had a jeep one and the one year old was using it with the 3 year old no worries! well actually - worries - as i had to run alongside as they drove all over...argh - have fun!!!!
ella demands starbucks and smoothies and the like if we have them when we are out...maybe buy a milkshake if Alyssa does that too and share - most of ellas learning had been from sharing....Ummmm she LOVES starbucks frappacinos....I am always saying NO its mummys drink! but always give in for a few straw sippys for her...Bad mummy

Yeah she does share Alex's Chocolate milk shakes the little monkey. But I drink Mocha's so she can't share with me....she just eats all my muffin instead.
My big girls want to ride on the Quad Bike! I have a feeling it wont be able to take their weight, but at least they can do the running along beside it holding Alyssa on. Another bonus of the big age gap.

she is loving juice boxes at moment too....daddy just let loose that he has been giving her one every morning with her brekkie...left over from party! naughty!!! the things they do when mummy sleeps in...and i have been sleeping in a lot lately...just cannot get outta bed!

Lots of chatter in here!!
Good score on your shopping the other day Shaz. We have a quad bike too, reading and waiting to go. DH took it out of the box the other day but Noah was scared of it (hehehehe) so don't know when he will be interested in it.
Yay for older siblings huh!! They can be lifesavers at times.
Oh no with your little bully BS She'll get the message soon enough with your telling her off. She's just learning all kinds of stuff and some of it is bound to be naughty. I hope she stops sooner rather than later. And I think Noah is too much of a gentleman. When we were at the library the other day, this boy (maybe 3 years old) tried to get on the rocking horse Noah was playing on so Noah turned around and pushed him in the chest and yelled at him. hahahahaha - I was secretly proud of him but went and told him no pushing and told that other boy to wait his turn.

Nothing much new here, sorry haven't posted in here for sooo long. Belated Happy 1st Bday wishes to both Elle & Noah... Is it just Alyssa & Lucas to go now or am I forgetting someone?
We been going a bit crazy with grandparents money. I was so chuffed to find that my bassinet & old pram sold on trade me ....yay $120 extra to put towards his big pressies.
BS we were going to get the Giraffe slide, but when we took Lucas into Toys R Fun in Manukau today we let him loose in the slide/swing section and he started climbing and playing on http://www.pipsqueaks.co.nz/shop/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/bd7cc3a99b1809a2f5d4d887dac20f5c.jpg - this and Dad (Poppa) decided he wanted to buy that for him ...so we will order through pipsqueaks tomorrow (its almost 200bux cheaper than in stores)! ....also bought the single Aluminium swing frame ...now just on the hunt for a decent plastic toddler swing that converts into normal swing as they didn't have any in stock at Toysrfun. I quite like the fisher price ones (good reliable brand too) but when I used google to try track them down I found a recall notice mentioning lots of reported accidents of kids falling out and hurting themselves ....soo hmm thats kinda put me off LOL!
Can't wait till next Sunday ....sooo many lil bits and pieces to wrap, aww the look on his face when he opens them & plays on his climbing frame and swing. I often wonder whose the kid here - me or him?
Hope everyone is well xxx

She is at DC this am and then i am picking her up early and taking her to MIL to "babysit" for a few hours while i am in court way out that side of town...LOL....will see how they both cope! I put on an outfit MIL had bought her - not much left that she fits from MIL now so a wiggles and dorothy dinosaur shorts set. kinda cute on her tho....

OMFG 4 50am!!!!!!!!! yep Ella woke up screaming and sobbing by time i got there....then refused to go to sleep even in our bed....heck it never usually works so not sure why i expected it to this am!
then at 5 20am her butt exploded! guess that was the culprit but OMG i am tired now....
We tried the toddler milk this am - decided to do it each morning and poss one at night...she loved it!!! Gave it to her in a sippy cup to differentiate and it worked....will try to keep her to three formula bottles on top of that now....

Oh thanks Hails. And Happy Anniversary.
I took a couple of photos last night as she fell asleep on the lounge floor. Bad Mummy didn't put her to bed early enough. But I couldn't get the resize thingy on Photobucket to work for me so will have to wait until DH gets home to do it for me I'm so useless with computers. At least then I may have photos of her cake and opening presents as well. I'm doing a little cake for tonight then another one for Friday when the cousins come over.
Anyway I was thinking she was 365 days old yesterday because it's leap year, so she's now 366 days old.
Sorry very "random" thoughts(as Tasha would say) I think I'm going slightly crazy thinking about going back to work, I dreading it .
Have to race off to the shops today to buy icing sugar as the monkeys have used it all up making sherbet and didn't bother to tell me it had run out.

BS yup thats the thing I originally had my eye on, now just hoping it gets here before Good Friday ...totally forgot when I ordered it that it was a short week this week. Might ring them up and get them to hurry it along, will be so peeved if I don't get it in time for his B'day.
Master Lucas made Mummy so proud today when he started walking along pushing his fisher price walker/wagon ....first time he has actually grasped the concept of how to use it. So im guessing this means walking won't be far off, he was very steady with his walking today whilst pushing it along. Im soo excited, but damn rechargeable batteries are stuffed so couldn't get a video

The one thing about getting chicken pox really young is that they don't scratch and get all the spots infected. Tasha had it at 2 and she only has one scar. Alex got it a few years ago and scratched heaps ended up with lots of scars from infected spots. But still it would be better never to have it like me

BS is it the small climber thats yellow, purple, pink and blue or the bigger one with the bridge?
I ended up paying for Lucas' climber with money I'd been saving from selling CD/DVD collection, old bassinet and pram on trade me etc etc ...parents paid for his swing which we tried out today (soooo couldn't help myself). Will add a photo to the gallery - he LOVED it.
Today I realised that my Mummy tummy can come in quite handy at times. Freight company turned up with the climber in a HUGE box ...guy had rung prior to turning up and said he was just going to dump it infront of garage ....soooo I hear the truck outside, let the flab hang out (i fully look 7 months preg when I do this ....tiny frame with tummy LOL) ...go outside and I asked if he could please bring it up the stairs, he struggled quite a bit (very narrow steep flight of stairs)but still did it for me! Thank god he didn't ask when bubba was due ...I would have been stumped as to what to say LOL
Hmm really must work on losing my tummy, he's nearly a year old so I can't use the 'I had a baby' excuse for much longer! Now if only I could get the money for a breast uplift too, they're almost dragging on the ground! Imagine what they will be like after 2 years of breastfeeding? I'm a lil apprehensive about continuing but can't see myself giving up for quite a while, I really love it, sag and all.
Oh man I'm so excited my baby is going to be one!!!
Shaz the cake you made for bub is GORGEOUS! I can't believe thats a home job! We are just doing an eggless chocolate cake with candles and whatever cake decorations I get my hands on tomorrow when we go shopping. Can anyone suggest a place to get them? ...My first stop will be the cheesecake shop, not sure how much luck I will have there.
BS the younger they get chicken pox the better, altho in my case I was an itchy scratchy kid and I have A LOT of scars to show for it from when I had Chicken Pox at 18 months!

I've had heaps of practice making cakes over the years if you add up all the cakes for the girls Birthdays and party's (sometimes two different ones for the separate days) I would have made well over 21 cakes. At one stage I had to make those cakes with the doll in the middle for about 3 years running and it got a little boring.
Hmmm Mummy tummy here too. Really must start doing those crunches so I can fit some of my old clothes. I have no idea what I'll be wearing to work on the 2nd can't afford to buy new clothes.

Oh forgot to say that old fashioned cake shops are the best for decorations if there is one around by you.
A really easy cake is too print a small photo of Lucas put it in the middle of the icing and cover the rest of the cake with small and giant smarties (or any lollies actually work) it is really affective and looks kind of like a photo frame. I have three Australian Womans Weekly Children's Cake books and I think it's in one of them.
This one didn't work as well, works better with smarties and darker icing.
