They seem to have a good attitude about it *shrug* So long as you didn't grow up with the person, I don't think it's all that bad... having a kid is another matter though, but it looks like they are lucky and she is healthy.

If she had grown up with him (I think I read it right that she didn't) then that's veeery different. Partly because he could've been influencing her into it from a young age, and partly because of the relationship they would already have had.

I'm not as open minded about that kind of thing as you Alia! They both knew about their biological relationship, regardless of whether they grew up as a family with a father-daughter influence.
IMO its just wrong and gross, even more so to bring a child into it with all the physical and psychological implications.

yeah im very liberal but i think its wrong too... having a child with a biological relative like that is awful for the child both biologically and mentally:(

ewww im sorry but i so dont find my dad sexually attractive, and from what i read she must have been about 1yr old when he left which means he probably wiped poop of her bum and now finds her sexually attractive??

i feel sorry for the baby involved, what a complicated family tree!! my father is also my grandfather, my mother is my half sister, my aunties and uncles are my half brothers and sisters and my grandmother is also my fathers ex partner.

only in australia (hehe cheeky i know, and no offence to any australians PLEASE!!)

Yeah - as I said I think it's a bit messed to bring kids into it, but honestly other than that it doesn't effect anyone but them. It's their business IMO, it might not be for me, but if it doesn't hurt anyone else then what's the harm?

but it does though... it hurts the child..esp when it grows up..and its quite likely to have some biological issues too..:( i get the actual relationship bit..that happens often with seperated twins etc.. but its still gross:(

I wasn't trying to have a go Alia, sorry if I sounded that way!
Its the fact that they both knew what their biological relationship was and that fact alone wasn't enough to put them off. Very weird to me.

just heard that they actually had a baby born in 2001 that died just after birth from a congenital disease, so they obviously knew the risks that this 2nd baby may have problems due to being conceived incestuously!

That is sick, disturbing and mean (to the child - the risks of birth defects in children born of incest has been well known for centuries).

It also makes me so sad that there are people out there that think you can't have a deep and meaningful relationship without sex.

'Mr Deaves told Channel Nine that he "initially" thought having sex with his daughter was wrong.

"Emotions take over, as people no doubt realise. There are times during your life where emotions do rule the heart, it rules the head," he said'

Hmmm. I think something else was ruling Mr Deaves - something much lower down than the heart (somewhere that many mens brains are thought to reside).

But come on ladies...it's obvious why she finds him too sexy to resist, I mean, look at him! Who wants some good looking younger man when you can have an elderly, age-spotted git with moobs!

Mmmm. He does have that sort of movie star appeal - if you're into Danny Devito playing The Penguin in Batman.

I watched a documentry on this recently, apparently it is something that happens quite often in seperated families and with adoption. It said it is becoming an increasing issue with the world as it is (attraction rather than actually reproducing)! They even discussed it with a someone who specialises in helping people deal with it in the UK

creepy and weird!

i feel sorry for that poor child, just imagine what its going to be like for that kid at highschool when someone finds out that her grandads her DAD! i think it is so unfair on the kid, children are innocent and dont deserve to have to hav something like that hanging over them there entire life.

Well, I watched it and am even more grossed out now cause they showed them kissing Also, they had another couple in Scotland who are half brother and sister who are in the same situation. They have the same mother and she walked in on them having sex one day then dobbed them into the police.

Apparently for both couples, they were charged with incest, however are allowed to live together on probation and aren't allowed to have sex or they will be thrown in jail.. I mean come on, of course they're still having sex!!

I only watched a bit of 60mins (in the ads of the show I was watching) but while I was watching they did some of the interview with their baby girl in the bath and I found myself wondering if he'll be sexually attracted to his daughter/grandaughter in 20 years and what he's going to do about that.

I also feel very very sorry for the older children, 9 & 14 from Ms Deaves previous relationship. They have now been interviewed and the interview has been broadcasted internationally so now all their school friends know their family's sordid affairs. I can't imagine it's going to be easy for them.

Yeah I thought about him and his daughter/grandaughter as well but then again, I figured he'll probably be dead by the time she's an adult anyway..

The older kids don't know any differently so they think it's ok, but when they are older I'm sure it will dawn on them that it's pretty bad.
