A hoping someone may be able to help.
Paige is 7 weeks old and last week was diagnosed with Reflux....and is now on Zantac. Drs have advised that we should see an improvement/change in a about a week or so.
At the moment it seems like she is getting worse. I know it is common for bubs with reflux to have milk allergies....and am thinking this might be the case with Paige.
Could any of you mums out there who have kids that have milk allergies please let me know what their sympthoms were/are. I have looked on Crying over split milks website and googled milk and dust allergies and she seems to have almost all of the symptoms they state, but would love to hear from some real people and see what their kids were like and if anyone has an recommenations.
Paige is solely breastfeed

Spencers symptoms were constipation, ezcema and reflux (I think, although wasn't diagnosed, but would scream and do back arching at feeds and only did it once we weaned onto formula).
You could try cutting diary completely out of your diet and see if it makes a difference. I think that 2 weeks is sufficient time to tell whether it is making a difference but someone else might no better. Spencers allergy didn't come to light until we weaned him.

Ethan's was an all over body rash ...when bf he would fuss and cry and just wouldnt feed and his reaction came after switching to a new formula 1 week after going to formula...he then got put on Pepti junior and 3 weeks later had same thing happen twice now on Neocate. oh a eczema but it's not too bad and i think this is due to going on Neocate so quickly.. (his first reaction was at 8 weeks)

Thanks Ladies for your replies....
Paige arches her back and scream at feeding time and afterwards....she has real trouble farting (screams in pain..poor wee thing)....she still poos so I don't think it is constipation (but I could be completely wrong)... She doesn't seem to have a any rashes (thank god...at the moment I think would stress me out more) but seems to always rub her face on me like she is itching her eyes and noses....
I have thought about going completely dairy free but I don't know if I could. So may things have dairy products in them, there would not be alot that I can eat.

Hannah was fully bf as well - her milk allergy showed as a wicked nappy rash from my breast milk, then hives when I tried her on cows milk formula.
I would wait a week or so to see if the medication is helping and if you still think it might be the cows milk, then try just cutting out dairy products (milk, cheese yoghurt etc) If you do both at the same time you wont know what is making a difference if there is one. Good luck.

Tyde didn't have any rashes, however he would squirm and grunt and go red in the face like he was trying to poo.. but was pooing normally... he would ccry, arch his back.. he also was quite snuffly all the time and had a weepy eye lots (one eye).
He was diagnosed with dairy intolerance, and after LOTS LOTS of work (proof by diaries etc by me) he got a subsidy for Neocate... was a mission to get him to drink, but within about a week or 2 he was a different baby.... he still had the spewy reflux, but it didn't upset him anymore.. and I stopped the zantac.. the zantac sseemed to upset him even more and whne I looked it up , some of the side effects included stomach cramps, headaches etc.!!! You can reduce dairy in your diet.. e.g. drink soy milk, try not to have things that are mostly dairy (e.g. don't stress too much if dairy is a small additive, but stay away from chocolate, yoghurt, cheese etc unless you have soy/goat) If you can do this for approx 2 wks (working hard on keeping dairy really limited) you would probably see that it made a difference or not... I WISH I'd known that before putting baby onto the bottle because neocate tastes GROSS and it was a mission to get my boy to drink it...
hugs and all the best!!
