Where are we all? How is it all going?
Mike and I are taking it easy this month and not stressing, we don't really want a Christmas baby so would prefer to wait till next month, but we will not not try if you get my drift.
Good luck for everyone else!

not going, as far as I can tell...Will test again in a couple of weeks. Not too keen on a chrissy baby, either, but not worried if it happens either!

Hey,
I'll find out if I'm going in another couple of days ...I'm on day 28 of a 29 day cycle. But, this is the end of cycle 9, so it's feeling very unlikely (am not worried at all about a chrissy baby though) I am feeling bizzarly exhausted (weird because I've been chugging B vitamins for a month, which normally makes me completely hyper - like a kid on raspberry mirinda!), and teary, and a bit queezy which I am putting down to a good solid dose of PMT, but you never know. Also, this is my first month temping, and they look completely uninteresting, steady and not that high leading up to AF. Mind you, I have no idea what they're supposed to look like... I'll keep you posted I'm also feeling a bit blah because my brother and sister in law are due next month for the birth of their first, and we've been trying longer than they've been preg (it took them about 5 minutes to fall preg). I don't even want to voice it, but it makes me feel a bit ...I guess resentful. I can't help it. Am bending over backwards not to let it show though. Bought their baby a HUGE present of clothes, books and toys, and a gorgeous present for Mum as well. Hopefully the only person that realises is my hubby.

Aww simonne its perfectly normal to feel like that i know i certainly did when my husbands brother and gf accidently fell pregnant. They are really lovely though and our nephew is gorgeous but when you feel down tell hubby and just take some you time

Thanks Jezsika. I really appreciate it. I have taken steps for this month - and have a facial booked for Saturday morning. Presumably day 2 of AF. Hopefully I'll feel relaxed and cheery afterwards. I also went and bought some new clothes for winter ...I didn't really buy anything last year because I was sure that I'd be preg by now (sill me!), and therefore having to be buying maternity clothes. So the last couple of weeks, I thought 'bugger it' and dropped a bundle in my fav stores! You never know too ...Murphy might pay us a visit while we have a whopping visa bill, instead of being decidedly absent while we've been being thrifty! Here's hoping anyway
Hey everyone else - for a laugh, and to demonstrate how snoozy I've been ...
I got to work yesterday and realised half way through the day I'd been walking around in such a stupor, I'd completely forgotten to put any makeup on I have no idea how I forgot. I even remember standing in front of my mirror with all my stuff out!
Go figure

I think I may just go and have 'disaster' tattooed on my forehead! That way everyone knows, and they don't have to wait around to see the evidence. Not that you have to wait long ...

LMAO off - I too am in an absolute stupor atm. Need to tidy the house before the cleaner comes but have about 0 motivation. Let the dishes pile up for 2 days before DH finally did them last night, and have finally made a start on the pile of washing on the laundry floor (but only because Maya has run out of clean daycare clothes).
Dumbest moment this week - going to the chemist to pick up my prescription and realising that I had left the prescription on the counter at the doctors office.

Oh, good. I've got one of those then!
I took a whole pile of photocopies from a book (for my part time uni study) and trundled off to a local cafe to do some work during lunch, and spent the entire hour just trying to put the pages in order, and didn't succeed at all! I've even forgotten how to count, and it's not like the numbers weren't at the top of each page! Good Lord. This is not looking good. I think this is the worst PMT I've ever had.

Firstly, Becca - I hope you're not serious about upsetting me? I nearly wet myself when I saw your post. My boss walked in and asked me what I was grinning about, to which I responded something like "Uh...um... *mumble* email joke...?"
Congratulations by the way !!
Jezsika and Paws ...no I can't say I'm normally like this. I even went home and had a howl for no apparent reason ...But, AF is due tomorrow, and I tested last night and it was a big fat negative, so presumably it's just PMT fun and games!! My temps have been identical for the last 4 days, so I'm pretty certain nothing interesting is going on. Oh well, AF means the start of another cycle (#10)! Every ending is a new beginning and all that ...though I'm getting a bit tired of these cycles
I did the temping this month to make sure I'm ovulating, which it looks like I am. I'm sort of thinking I should just forget about things for a couple of months, relax a bit about it all (I'm beginning to find myself getting really upset about it all), but at the same time, I'm not sure if I should keep up the temping in case we have to see a specialist - so I've got something to show them. What do you gals think?
|
Posted By: Simonne

Oh, and I used a 'Discover' test which apparently is good for 4 days before AF ...so I think it's pretty reliable.

Sorry Simonne, its so easy to misunderstand each other when all we do is type! I'm glad I didn't upset you... was worried I'd put my foot in it again!
You are TTC #1, right? You might be like me and show late... With Josiah, I did a test on the Wednesday, negative. Did another on the Thursday (yes, next day!), positive! This was when my period was 2 weeks late, by then. I did a test last month, a couple of weeks after my weird period, which was negative, so I must have been a day or two too early.

It is entirley possible you culd be pregnant and equally so it is entirley possible the stress of trying to get pregnant could be making you wacko...I know it did for me!
If you can wait for a couple of days past your due date that is ideal, and can save you a small fortune on tests (*ahem* speaking from experience)...
It is almost impossible to relax though and I hated people telling me too...the annoying part was that when we gave up, accepted that we were going for fertility treatment (yes our doc had turned up a small problem) we got pregnant. *sigh*
Good luck babe!!!!

not that i want to get your hopes up or anything, but just don't give up yet
both times i've used the first response tests from the supermarket without probs and they are only $12/2 tests or $7 for one.

Hi everyone,
AF arrived last night ...and I'm not trying to be silly, but I actually think it may have been a very early miscarriage. My body has gone completely nuts, and AF has never been like this for me (and I'm quite used to weird and unpleasant AF visits). Apart from all the very odd things that happened leading up to, nothing about it is normal (for me) either. Temps have taken a nice sharp plop this morning though, so my chart for last month looks excellent (in terms of being an ovulatory chart) which I'm glad about. Bring on cycle 10!
Oh, and for a laugh ...this comment came from my husband this morning, who floated the idea of an early miscarriage ... "Well ...that's typical isn't it? The boys finally do something, and it's the drunk one who scores the goal!" Gotta love him!

LMAO at the drunk swimmers - that would be a good way to explain my M/C probably too...
If it makes you feel better then go see your doc, but unfortunately there is unlikely to be any way that he/she can confirm whether or not you have had an early miscarriage. A blood test will tell them whether any hCG remains in your system, but the fact that you tested negative yesterday suggests that there isn't, and that would be the only way they could know for certain. Very early miscarriages are almost always complication-free so I wouldn't worry about that side of things.
Also - some people believe you are more fertile after a m/c - I know I was! - so you might find that this actually HELPS you get pregnant!

Hey again Jack's Mum and Emma,
(Yes, the husband is priceless!)
I've been in touch with my doctor, and we went through what happened, the pre-bleeding symptoms, the bleeding, all the gory stuff, and she basically said that it is most likely but that Emma is quite right, there is no way to tell, and to be a disgusting, I didn't keep any of the stuff I lost either. Apparently things just run their course and your body takes care of itself ...I am just to watch for any signs of infection.
Goodness! What a way to start the day! Fingers, toes, eyes, legs (oh, not legs, that wouldn't be helpful)and arms crossed for this cycle!

Thanks Sarah,
I'm going to do exactly that with my grocery shop this week And, I just put a pile of new clothes on layby today If that doesn't tempt Murphy ...
Thankfully, my sore boobs are receding today. I thought I was going to go around the bend with them!
(Actually, just being a completely random for a mo ...isn't layby the most fantastic way to buy up a whole pile of new stuff? You can pick the new season items up as they hits the shelves, put a deposit on, and leave it sitting there for 6 weeks! I mean ...it's winter stuff, so it's not like I NEED it for 6 weeks AND ...this way I can sneak it past the husband better!! )
|

I love layby but I tend to be a bit naughty and put it on layby and then go and pay the lot off a few days later as I want the clothes
Hubby finds it funny, and thankfully doesn't mind my shopping addiction, last time I did a big one I spent over $1,000, even the layby deposit was big

*Snort* That sounds extremely familiar
The only reason this layby is going to last most of its 6 weeks is because I've dropped a hideous amount on new stuff in the last few weeks (wardrobe overhaul!), and hubby is threatening to confiscate my visa (he made a lunge for it last weekend, but the only thing he got out of it were scratches and bite marks ) ...I need to lull him into a false sense of security for a bit, whilst still getting my hands on new season goodies

that sounds like a plan!!! My downfall is working right near a mall, lunchtimes are often spent wandering the shops spending up large!

But if you think that's bad, I work in a 'service centre' (aka call centre), and so I'm on the phone 99% of time - some of the stuff i've come out with by accident has been very VERY embarassing !! i actually said 'shat' instead of 'sat' once, i forget peoples names ALL the time or call them by the wrong one !! ummm... i tried to say 'no worries' and 'no trouble' at the same time and came out with 'no wubbles'
as for shopping though i'm quite "lucky"... only get half an hour for lunch and am not close enough to get to a shopping centre and back in that space of time ! i think hubby is grateful too

Oh boy ...Takapuna is as bad as Newmarket. The only thing worse would be Parnell or Ponsonby ...The husband is going a bit crosseyed with my shopping - my latest purchase is a wrap thing which has one sleeve, and you just sort of wrap yourself up in it. Anyway ...hubby took one look at it and said "You've been ripped off. They forgot to put the other sleeve on." So I just said "Crap ...you're right ...and guess how much YOU paid for it ...??" Wiped the smile off his face quick smart that did.
I think my worst typing bugger up of recent times was sending correspondence to our biggest client (I work in legal) making reference to the Pubic Trust (as opposed to the more appropriate Public Trust).
Hey Jax ...there's always mail order Pumpkin Patch do a gorgeous catalogue ...It's important that us girls are resourceful in our shopping endeavours

YAY YAY YAY! After months of waiting we are pregnant. Typical Aries, couldn't wait so I went and got one of the early tests and took it this morning and the blessed two lines came up!
So happy, just had to tell someone!

Congratulations!!!
Well I am going to pull out of the race so to speak this month. To much stress and other things going on for me to conceive I think. We will still try, but I think we will be out of luck for this month

Hi all, im very new to this site - heard about it on the wedding planner one :-)
Anyways, my husband and I have only been TTC for about a month now. I was on DEPO for about 6 to 7 years and had my last jab in November 04 (only because I read some bad stuff about long term use - not to TTC). I got my first period in nearly 7 years on March 1. I was a bit depressed cos I was hoping that I would just get pregnant without having to do the whole period thing but it is good to know that everything is working down there!!So, I have been filling on a chart etc etc and then I start my period again on March 20 although I don't know if it really was my period - no side effects like last time, and it wasn't like a proper one - heavier than spotting but not quite a period. Should I be worried?? I am sooooo scared that there might be something wrong with us - I am really impatient and just want to be pregnant now!! Is anyone else like that?

Hi Leish,
My cycle used to be as regular as clockwork before I started taking Depo, and was on it for a good couple of years - took over 12 months to come back, and then was all over the place. I know it's hard not to worry, but for some ladies it can take a while for all the stuff to get out of your system.
At this stage I'm not sure that your doctor would recommend anything more than keeping track of things in the manner that you already are, but you have also come to the right place for all your questions and frustrations, and for lots of support !!
Best of luck !! *baby dust*

Thanks so much Jax I will keep on keeping on...
That timeline thing in your signature is soooo cute.
Tell me about it with the frustrations!! Gosh - I bawled and bawled on Monday when I got my period. I guess I was just really naive and *hoped* that we would get pregnant straight away!! LOL
I have been reading about cycles and fertility and ovulation and it simply amazes me. I never paid attention in school (obviously) but it is such a science to getting pregnant!! Who would have thought... Up until a month ago I thought that if you have sex - you will get pregnant. Now I know that you have a cycle and within that cycle you only have a very small chance and timeframe to get pregnant and yet - there are still so many unplanned pregnancies out there!! It amazes me that people get pregnant at all!

I think most of it is good ol Murphy's Law in action Leish, as far as "unplanned" pregnancies go... because when you decide you really want it, and are going to try especially for it, he throws a spanner in the works
May I ask how old you are ?

PS - you can get TTC (trying to conceive) tickers as well, fertilityfriend.com does them, and I think a few other general websites do as well like lilypie.com, and snugglepie.com - once you've got yourself sorted with temping and charting etc, you can set one up and put it in your profile so that it's part of your signature in your posts

Well I have been reading up the duff by Kaz Cooke. I decided to mainly read her diary entries and then go back, so now those are finished, I am wondering, how and I supposed to look after a child. I couldn't fall asleep and am now wondering if we are doing the right thing. To be quite honest I am petrified

Kaz Cooke also wrote a 'sequel' called Kidwrangling, you might want to check that out as well

Well, got AF this morning, which was kinda cool, as it is the first since getting pregnant. So far not even half as bad as it used to be, some ladies told me it is worse than before after baby and others told em the opposite. I was expecting major pain since it has been so long, but othing but mild cramps.. YAY! So in the midst of all this TMI, the yay and exciting part is now it will be easier to see where I am in my cycles if it goes normally from here, so hopefully making it easier to concieve number 2!! FINGERS CROSSED!!

Hey Sarah!
I did the same as you ...read 'Up the Duff' and gave myself the absolute willies. I've been too scared to open 'Kid Wrangling' I kind of peeked in the cover, slammed it shut and buried it at the bottom of my book pile
From what I gather from friends who are parents, you get to be terrified before you get pregnant, terrified once you get pregnant, and then terrified for your children forever after that as well. Sounds like fun, don't you think?
Chin up, pal of ours! xo

thank you Simonne, I am so glad I am not the only one. I freaked out, then thought, what the heck and just carried on as normal thinking that I could keep in denial about the whole thing

I think it's the thought of a little person, completely dependent on you for everything ...and they'll be dependent on you forever, one way or the other. And then, you think of changes to your life, your finances, your relationship and ...Whammo! Instant panic attack. But, I have it on good authority, that it is all absolutely worth it. I haven't heard anyone say otherwise. And, if it turns out that said authorities are leading me up the garden path ...I will hunt each and every one of them down

Oh, and Leish? I think we're all like that We want it NOW, thank you very much! It doesn't get any better either I hate to tell you ...you find yourself holding your breath every blimmin cycle! I'm on cycle 10 and nearly ready to explode. I think when I do eventually get pregnant (last month aside, obviously), I'll probably fall of my chair with surprise.
Good luck

Isn't it funny how all through school, they said don't do it, you will fall pregnant, but when push comes to shove it is actually really hard (no pun intended). I always thought it would just happen but to date nothing. I don't know how I will cope if I have to wait 12 months! I am so impatient!

I know! I was brought up in a strict religious family, so I was of the understanding that you'd fall pregnant as soon as you even looked at a male of the species. Pfft. Obviously not I know you've probably said, but how long have you been TTC Sarah? I'm on cycle 10, and I must admit ...I really never thought I'd still be sitting here watching the months tick past.
(Also, if you re-read that sentence of yours ...I should've been no puns, plural )

This is my third month, but I don't think I will be successful this month either, too much else going on.
I guess I was of the niave opinion that as soon as we wanted it to happen it would.
