Take a look at this pic and note the bulge above the cesear line
This is my 3rd c-section and I don't recall this bulge (it's really solid) either of the other 2 times. I have had two infections and whether it was coincidence or not the 2nd lot of antibiotics at 5 1/2 wks post birth seemed to knock it down to almost flat. But now it's back (7 1/2 wks). Anyone else heal like this? Is it due to having tubes tied at same stage? I'm paranoid as the last dr said that if I keep getting infections then the next step is exploratory surgery, and I simply can't do that with 3 kids and DH has already had alot of time off when bubs was born.

Oh yeah, it hurts below the bulge on the right side when I cough, but that's probably just cause it's still not that long after having it I guess??

mine doesn't look anything like that (but I didn't have washboard abs to start with! lol) I'd get the dr to check it as any pain isn't good.
Hope it's nothing serious

I would be concerned that the swelling went down with the anti biotics and then came back, sounds like perhaps it wasn't a long enough course to do the job.
I had swelling like that above my scar which went from one hip bone to the other but it slowly got better over the first 2-4 weeks. It felt bruised as well but didn't come out bruised like below the scar it was just red and raised. Mine was thought to be caused by hooks that held the skin back (really wished the doc had not shared that info with me)

I had swelling too, but it was more around the scar making it look like I had been sealed like a zip lock bag But I had no pain what-so-ever once I got out of the hospital 6 days post op

I have a slight bulge above my scar, but its only been 3 weeks since my c section...
Mine still feels bruised but is going down and getting better each day, just have to correct my posture cos I tend to lean forward cos thats how I had to walk when it was new.
Still hurts a bit when I walk and stuff, but I can bend and get up and down nopw without much trouble.
Maybe check with your doctor? My midwife looked at mine yesterday and didnt have an concerns.

I went to the dr who said that it's not infected and at this stage doesn't need opening up again...just play the wait and see game (this is good news). However he said that he's got his bets on that it's going heal with that bulge....there goes any hopes of ever getting into that bikini I bought just before I fell pregnant the 3rd time .

You can still wear a bikini (just a high waisted support pants variety )
Good to hear the "bump" is ok though

I have a bulge above my scar too, and I've had 1 c-section. It's as if the skin is tight under the scar and then goes slack above it. Like I am wearing invisible undies :)
I am still numb up to my belly button and have burning nerve pain all the time.
It's been seven months now, so I am hoping that by a year it calms down. I still get wierd itches all round the scar.
It's very strange having a scar peep out both side edges of my undies
Does it get better?

Both my others I had no problems with, they healed up well, no itchiness, hidden well under my undie line, no lumps or bumps and I didn't notice the numbness. So hopefully this one will to but just atking a bit longer.......hopefully the dr's wrong and the lump goes but it kinda feels like there's scar tissue from one of the internal layers that were sowen back together.
So in anwser to your question....I don't know I'm still waiting to find out this time round
