Hi all
Been umming and ahhing about Brennan and whether to take him to Doc. He has generally been an unhappy little guy so far. He feeds well. But as soon as I have finished and put him up for winding he starts crying and bending like a banana and gets all rigid and if he does bring up wind its kind of a wet burp generally which he quite often chokes on. He has never thrown up or spilled.

He also has the hiccups heaps and is not the best sleeper.. Does lots of farts and squirms and wriggles and generally just does not "relax"................

Do you think this is reflux again or just him being a boy or what?

Sounds like a gas issue to my un-trained self - as in a farty problem. Though Ella always 'stood' up after a feed too... no sitting on anyone's lap for her, she'd push herself up and then jump on my lap while I held her... so much jumping. And she had reflux, so maybe there's a link there? A visit to the Doc can't hurt since you're worried about him.

You could also try taking him to an osteopath - this helped G relax a little when she was tiny, but she had other issues as well.

The hiccups and the poor sleeping makes me suspicious that its reflux. Both my kids have silent reflux (the non-spilling one) and also are squirmers, hiccupers, terrible sleepers (until the reflux is controlled) & really windy.

How did you get on Kelpa?
Daniel is sounding exactly the same as Brennan and catgirl's baby - we've just started him on Gaviscon and are seeing the pediatrician on Wednesday.

I am off to Mothercraft..Doc said it was Silent reflux but doesnt make me feel confident with the Wind and pain he seems to be in from down below....

We tried gaviscon but didnt make any difference so then onto Ranitidine but it is a nightmare ...he gags and chokes and loses his breath ....then swallows heaps of air...Gave up.

So now going to go to Mothercraft and start again and see what they think.

It's kind of like family centre but you go and stay there for a week and get help with sleep and settling etc. You can only go if you live inside the Waikato DHB catchment area tho.
