Hi Mrs B, I am with Pippa I was waiting for someone else to start the blog.
I am due on the 5th May. This is my 4th pregnancy with my last pregnancy being a prem baby girl on May 7th 2008. Sadly she fell asleep and now lives in her special teddy bear.
I am under a specialist to try and get me to the end of a pregnancy.
I to am not having to many symptons just very tired, sore breasts.
The thing I am finding the hardest is every 2 days I am getting a blood test and I have a scan everyweek. I have drug arms already.
Good luck all the May ladies, I hope we all have very happy and healthy pregnancies.

Morning all. Well I was only 11 DPO when I first tested and that was only because I am impatient and couldn't wait until tomorrow! Have tested 3 times since then and the line is slowly getting darker. Will ring midwife on Friday to hopefully get some bloods done.
I have been REALLY tired but have put that down to nightshift on Monday. My boobs are kinda tender and TMI here.... my nipples are really itchy and kinda prickly!!! (weird I know) and I feel generally blah but I'm sure thats psychological! Also have been getting some cramps and sort of heavy feeling but the books asssure me that's normal!
So fingers crossed for a sticky bean!

Oh thought I may as well introduce myself as well. Not going to tell you my real name just yet as it is kinda unusual and just in case there is someone on here that knows me! Cos we aren't planning on telling anyone until we make it to 12 weeks.
I'm 25, Hubby is 28 and we married earlier this year after being together 6 years. This will be Baby #1 for us. I have been off the BCP since March and although I have been charting we have been just taking things easy and seeing what would happen It was actually me who took convincing initially as DH thinks he is gettting old! He is so excited about becoming a Dad.

Mind if I join you guys? I think I am due around May 5th, but I'm not entirely sure because my periods have been all over the place due to breastfeeding Mr 8 months.
I am a excited, but also a little terrified due to the small age gap!
My boobs are killing me, because Mr 8 months has decided to wean (maybe something to do with preggy hormones?) and that pain coupled with the pregnancy pain is excruitiating at times! But I haven't got any other symptoms yet.
Look forward to getting to know all you guys

the triedness is actually going to kill me. i finish work at 10 then look after my sisters 2 kids till i go teach gymnastics at 330 and i honestly cannot keep my eyes open after lunch. i burst into tears when i got home because i dint see my husband yesterday and he was heading out the door when i got home as its his best friends wedding on saturday and he is busy every ntie this week. i am being such a wuss, im an emotional nightmare is anyone acting like a freak too?
i have the horrible sore boobs thing as well. i had shooting pains through my left nipple before i got my BFP but that stopped when i took my nipple ring out which ive had since i was young and crazy. lol. but the pain is on the outside of my boobs. like having sore muscles with pins in them, very odd. only had the metallic taste for 2 days and still getting the AF feeling cramps but technically i should have AF so i figure the pain will stop soon. bloody hell what a long rambly post...sorry

owwhh that sounds painful monikah!! I dont have sore boobs yet but i did with ds which i think i got around 6w so i guess i will have to wait and see but yea i remeber it was really painful and itchy.Dont think that your a freak huh, its totaly normal to be emotional with all those hormones buzzing around.Today i read a poem i want to write in a card for dp for fathers day and it made me cry!! haha soo not like me to cry over something like that
Ive been really crampy lately which has been on and off for about 2 weeks now so im thinking its a mixture of implantation and because my body thinks i should be having af now. I had to have a nana nap today coz i was soo tired! its hard work making a heart! hehe
Yay cant wait to see my mw tomorrow!!

Don't worry Mon I am being a total emotional nightmare this afternoon!
We are in the middle of an overseas move and the paperwork and trying to set up viewings for rental properties over there is stressing me out BIG TIME!!! My poor DH doesn't know whats going on!
Not very good timing to be majorly emotional with everything we have going on at the moment. Also got a call today that DH's grandad had a stroke today! AHHHHHHH!!
I think I will have a nice bath and just concentrate on the wonderful fact that IM HAVING A BABY YAY!!

It's amazing how something so little can drain the energy from you huh!? I lay down for a nanna nap this afternoon and slept for an hour and a half and only woke up cos Hubby came home and slammed the door!
I'm still having cramps which are making me a little nervous but did another test today and the line is definately darker so thats a little reassuring. When are you guys getting confirmation bloods done? I though I would wait until Monday to ring Midwife now as I will be 17 DPO then.
I had antenatal bloods done two weeks ago by my friend who is a doctor, she suggested getting them done before hand so you can act on anything if you need too, like getting a booster for Rubella, luckly mine were all fine cos I was already 5DPO!!

yea i had mine done at the start of the year when i told my doctor i was TTC. has anyone discover itchy ankles / lower calves yet? is this a pg thing or am i a freak. i cant believe how many different things can break on one healthy body. i'd be 20dpo today how exciting. i get to go see my specialist on tuesday. so cool cos it DH's b'day and fathers day not long after. im real stressed bout telling my dad though so im avoiding it as long as poss, funny aye. im 24, married, own a huge house, have a carreer and still terrified of telling my father im pg, what a laugh

Dont worry Monikah, I'm exactly the same,I'm dreading telling my parents aswell! I'm 28, married and also have a house and a career, and they were not impressed when I told them I was preggy with Mr 8 months! (although they love him to bits now). i can only imagine how they will react when I tell them I'm preggy again haha! I think I will wait as long as possible to tell people this time
Mrs B, I'm having heaps of cramping too, but I think I got it last time aswell, so trying not to stress this time.
I got bloods taken yesterday and have left a message for my old midwife to contact me, it's starting to feel a bit more real now!

Hi Ladies.
Well I POAS this morning and got my BFP. It was VERY strong, but I'm not surprised as I am nearly a week overdue and have suspected since last Sunday.
Just to quickly intro myself and DH. I'm 30, he's 27. We've been married for 3.5 years. This is our first pregnancy and is a 'first month trying' baby. We own our own businesses and I also work for my family's business. Until this point work and travel have been our lives. I suspect that's about to change!
Feel a but nervous posting here and hope I'm not 'jumping the gun'...can't wait to be further along so it's all a bit more real...and sticky!
Think that's all for now...just HI really!!

Congrats and welcome Surfergirl!
I know what you mean about feeling nervous posting in here, I am too! Its still doesn't feel real!
I've got these funny little tummy twinges, not exactly cramps but weird. I'm also starting to feel a little bit sick when I get hungry so keeping the gingernut biscuits on hand (ginger is good for nauesa apparently but Im not sure if gingernuts actually have any ginger in them!)
I have extra pressure on me now as DH told his family that im pregnant! Feel really jinxed now but just going to go with it and enjoy it!
Hope all the other May Mummies are feeling well??

Congratulations to all the May mummies. I'm so glad someone started this thread, as a newbie i was just waiting around lol.
Did a POAS 13 DPO and had a very strong result and got my blood test done the same day which came back at 1761.
As for the sore boobs everyone has got, i'll be joining the club there, mine started out a week before AF was due and were a different kind of sore than usual with AF. Then last Saturday, i woke up at 8.30 felt exhausted and when back to sleep till 3pm!! Oh and the constant peeing and backache kinda gave it away aswell.
To the ladies that are still having cramps, i was/am absolutely paranoid about this aswell, because i too have been having cramps on and off, but they are getting less and less now. I now feel a lot more reassured now knowing i'm not the only one still getting them.
DP was told, but hasn't taken it well even though we both supposedly wanted a child. My story is on the First Baby thread. Looks like i'm going to be a single mum for this bub which is extremely scary, but there's no way i can terminate like my partner wants me too (because apparently it's not the right time).
Lol, the only reason i would be dreading telling my parents now, is the fact that i could possibly be telling them that i'm going this alone.
Wow, May Mummies - this is now OUR time!!!!!! I look forward to getting to know you all better over the coming months.

So sorry to hear that Cosmo, big hugs!
Monikah, I was a big coffee drinker before my first pregnancy, but managed to cut down to 3 instant coffees a day. From what my mw said, that was ok as long as I didn't have any more than that If I wnated more, I would just drink decaf.
I rung for my blood results on Friday and asked what my HCG was and they told me they didn't do it!!! WTF??? They just did all the other bloods instead, which is a shame cause I wanted to get some idea of how far along I was I'm half tempted to go back and ask for it to be done!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

Hey Girls. Well my symptoms all but disappeared over the weekend except for the cramping which was making me very worried. I honestly didn't "feel" pregnant at all. Keep waiting for AF to rear her ugly head. We were camping with some friends and kept going to have a swig of Hubbys beer and then I would remember! It was so strange. Got home just before and was immediately in the loo to POAS and there is definately a very vivid 2nd line now, so that is reassuring. So I'm going to ring a midwife in the morning and hopefully get my HCG levels done .
Does anyone have some good excuses as to why you aren't drinking? I have a skiing trip planned for my b'day next week with my best friends and just know they are going to suspect something if I'm not drinking on my bday!! Problem is they know me so well they are bound to see through any story!
But hubby and I have vowed not to tell anyone, parents included until we get to 12 weeks.

Mrs B, when's your birthday, mines the 4th so i've got a couple of people that want to go out for dinner and drinks, and i too am trying to work out how to get out of the drinks, without being obvious.
Good luck for getting your blood test tomorrow, i'm sure all will be fine, my symptoms come and go but look at my results for Wednesday they were huge.
Actually with results like that at 13dpo, i'm kinda getting worried about two of them cooking in there.
Curly that is so strange they didn't test the HCG levels for you!!! Silly people. You're so lucky to still get your caffeine fix, unfortunately mine is 'V' and i can't keep having two of those a day, i've gone cold turkey since i found out, but still getting my cravings for it - but not giving in.
Nerfititi, i'm holding off on telling me parents for now, they both have their birthdays within a couple of days of each other in a couple of months, so you can guess what their present will be lol. They're down in Wellington anyway, so not much they can do down there, and i don't want to worry mum, she has just battled breast cancer, so i don't want her stressing about me.
Hope everyone had fantastic weekends, and their symptoms didn't get in the way of enjoying it!!

tell them you are on antibiotics/ or meds of some sort. it will always work. blame migraines, hormones (if people know your TTC), flu, strep throat anything that may require any form of medication. unless you are heading out with a doctor you shouldnt get snapped out.
my symptoms are easing off which freaks me out. all im left with is extreme exhaustion and hormonal crying breakouts. cant wait till my appt on tuesday so i can feel like its real. DH's parent know now but now to keep their mouths shut. we are only 24 and quite close to our families so wanted to tell them even though something could easily go wrong. his mum is a pharmacist which is convenient too. lol

Hi Everyone.
Hope you all had a good weekend. We had a very quiet one...don't seem to 'feel' pregnant. Still the odd bit of cramping, but otherwise well. Have been a bit tired, but most weekends I feel like that! LOL! Feeling a little 'hungover', but wonder if that is psychosomatic ...
Off to the Drs today and will start calling midwives this week. As this is our first, I have NO IDEA what I'm going to be looking for.
We have told quite a few people, my family, close friends, people I work with. We won't however, be telling his fmaily until we are 12 wks, as they are not that fond of me and will not be a great support should things not go well. (touch wood - they won't)!
Hope everyone else is feeling well and looking forward to another week...

Heya how are you all feeling today?
I went to see my mw on friday and did another preg test and the line was definatly darker so she sent me to get my bloods done and marked it urgent lol, she txt me a few hours later and said 'congrats love you are def preg, you have good preg hormones too - see you on the 8th' so yay we are very stoked coz i was starting to get worried with all the cramps i was having. We went shopping last night and i stocked up on ginger beer just in case i get ms like last time.
I told my parents and my sis - they are rapt, havnt told the in laws yet, we were surposed to do it on sat night coz they invited everyone over for a bbq but dps aunty and uncle turned up so we decided to wait to tell them first.
Mrs B - i went to a 21st when i was in the tww so i diddnt want to drink but diddnt want all the questions either so i got a bottle of wine and a bottle of spakling grape fruit juice and swaped them over - no one had a clue, they were just surprised i could handle my alcohol lol

How you all doing?

Hi Ladies,
I had my rd lot of bloods taken this morning. My arms have bruisers but its a small price to pay.
Bloods were good 8844, all on the up so that is good news.
They wanted me to have a scan on Moday but I think that is too early so I have requested it be on the 15th. Fingers crossed everything will be ok and Baby will be perfect.
I go to get my bloods every 4 days and I still get myself into such a state thats its all going to be bad. I think I am just protecting myself, just incase. I know just how fragil pregnancy is and that scares me.
I am under Fertility Associates so I don't need a midwife.
If anyone is looking for a Midwife and wanting to have a natuarl birth call Close to Nature Midwives: Cherie David 021 669 003
she helped me through the 19 weeks of my pregnancy and was then there with me when I had Anika she was amazing, if I were using a midwife I would have used her again.
All the best May Mummies

Hi Ladies,
Went to the Dr last night and had bloods taken. Getting results later today. He was great, is my family Dr and has known me since birth. He's keen to do shared care with a local midwife, so we'll go with that I think.
Called midwife last night, she's calling back today as she was in the labour ward when I called, will be making appt for later this week I think.
All still seems a bit sureal. Can't to be over the 12 week mark.
Monikah, good luck for your appt this afternoon. I'm sure it will be great...just don't look when the take the blood, even without the 'morning sickness' it made me feel a little queasy!
Good news on your bloods Maudie! Next to break the 10,000 mark!!
Mrs B, looking forward to hearing how the midwife appt goes, you'll be the second May Mummy to see their midwife. Hope it goes well.
PippaLockysMummy did you find out what your levels were? I wonder what's 'normal'. My Dr is away for the next few days and just said to me as long as its between 10-20,000 you'll be about spot on for dates...
OK, this is turning into a novel.
Hope you're all feeling well and have a lovely Tuesday!

Am a bit wary again of getting too excited about HCG levels though as it stressed me out a little last time and I've seen it really stress out some ladies on theses boards.... ...and I certainly don't want anymore stress than I have right now with moving and study etc! lol.
What is everyone else here doing? Are you guys all getting regular bloods etc?

im a little stressed actually and really want my HCG levels back. all he could see was a dot he estimated about 1mm but im sure it should be closer to 5mm by now. anyone else had scans yet? what size were they?

monikah - I had a scan at 5w5w and my scan report says CRL of 3mm with normal heart activity. However..when I went for my next scan at what I thought would have been 7w because of how the previous scan dated me, I was actually 7w2d.
So...the original one at 5w5d, I may have actually been 6 weeks. A couple days at this stage can mean all the difference. So if I was 3mm at 6w, perhaps 1mm might be all good for 5w5d!
This may not have helped at all, but I hope it has given you some hope :)
In regards to hcg levels that some are talking about; I had them done every 2 days for 3 weeks with this pregnancy and once they got to 7360 at 5w1d they stopped doubling. Then at 6w4d I stopped getting them at 22841. I had seen a heartbeat a few days earlier. Sometimes levels don't always double. I have done quite abit of research.

ive changed my ticker to go off LMP as opposed to my OV date which makes me only 5w3d which may explain why im a bit little if i OV'd at a different day to what i thought. does anyone know much about prog levels? when my bloods came back i'd OV'd butthey were lower than they should have been, how does this affect pregnancy

Hi again Ladies,
Potentially bad news from me. Dr not happy with hCG levels (2160) and has asked me to go back for more tests on Thursday.
Also (TMI) a bit of brown-ish discharge.
So, perhaps this time it's not for us...
Feeling very emotional and sad, but I'm a believer in nature taking its course and all things being for the best.
So fingers crossed for us for now.
Hope the rest of you re doing well.

surfergirl how far along are you? looking at the tables that Nefertiti put up those levels are fine for anything up to 4w6d. i have looked through the threads and cant find a due date for you but i am may first and at 5w2d so i figure you must be behind me therefore they should be fine? im not a doctor though but dont lose hope, you never know :)

Congrats Emmecat!! That is really great news!
Surfergirl - Sorry to hear that you had some sad news from the Doctor but hang in there. Plenty of women have bleeding and go on fine.
I only had the one blood test for HCG to confirm pregnancy as my HPT line was so faint. I haven't had any more blood tests but now Im wondering if I should??? I'm away in Oz at the moment all week anyway so can't this week. Maybe I'll have one next week when I get back? Are Doctors happy to take bloods for no reason other than my nerves?
I have a paranoia that my pregnancy is an ectopic. I keep getting faint pains in my left side. I'm not sure how many weeks on an ectopic gets really painful but Im only 5 weeks.
Well, stay well girls and stick in there bubbas!!!!

your HCG levels will be slightly lower if you have an ectopic but there are all kinds of pains and twinges and the start of pregnancy especially when AF is due. i was sure it was still gonna come but i got nothing. the twinges could possibly be your body being confused because you should be gearing up to OV soon but you dont need to now. im pretty sure ectopic gets painful really early on cos a lot of people have no idea they are pregnant when they get taken to the hospital normally assuming its appendicitis, it happened a few times when i was working there

Good morning ladies
Monikah- sorry to hear your HCG levels are a bit stressful....I hope it's just wrong dates hun.
Surfergirl- argh no I hope the bleeding is just baby burrowing in nice and deep. ((hugs))
Carrie- was your BFP really faint? Cos I just took my second one this monring and assumed it would be much darker but no , it's pretty bloody light still. I'm only 12DPO (I think) but just thought shouldn't it be getting darker and darker?? My temps are still up and have v sore bbs and those crampy twinge type things going on but am a bit worried about this test.
Arrgh the worry begins!!

Ohhh, Emmecat these early weeks are just so hard. I don't necessarily think you'd see much difference in darkness after 1 day but you could always go get a blood test done so you have a better idea whats going on.

Hi there, I found out last Friday that I'm pregnant with my 2nd. I have a 13 mth DD who takes lots of energy out of me!!!
I had a bloodtest done on Monday (was only 4 wks exactly) and the bloods came back at hcg 87. Will have some more on Friday. The nurse said they are very low which annoyed me cause I was only 4 wks 0 days so thought that was in the normal range. She made me worry for no reason, you worry enough in pregnancy as it is. With my DD i was 110 when i was 2 days late for period so thought this was spot on. what do you think, do you think it's low?
feeliing okay at this stage, pretty crampy though, not painful just uncomfortable.
surfergirl am sure it will be fine, have some more bloodtests to check. cheer up

Hi all,
Well, it seems we're all worry warts!
The discharge last night has come to nothing, so I'm hoping it was just implantation stuff.
My best bet is that my dates are wrong and that I'm not as preg as I thought...this would mean that hCG is fine...
Feeling a little off colour this morning, which I'm taking as a good sign (who would have ever thought I wanted to be sick!)
Now just counting the hours til Thursday so I can go and give some more blood and get another reading...
DH has been lovely. It's a tough time fof the blokes too!
Anyhow, that's all from me today, let's just hope that us May Mummies have really sticky babies.
HI Sars, hope your test come back fine. And Emmecat GREAT to see you here too!

Welcome Sars- yeah last time I was pg my HCG was similar and the nurse said the same thing grrr. This time I'm gonna wait til next week at least before getting bloods done and might not even bother- will just see my GP in a week or so and he can decide. I don't want ongoing tests cos I will go mental lol
Surfergirl- SO glad your bleeding came to nothing! That is brilliant, what a worrying thing to happen. It is very common though isn't it? The implantation stuff I mean..... I also don't think I am as far along as my ticker says, as that's going off my LMP. Pretty sure I ov later than normal! SO perhaps that's why my lines are so faint.
Vanillabean- thanks for your reassurance. You're right that it's really early adn so I might not see a big difference yet. I"ve had another look at the test now adn it's not lighter than yesterdays but about the same. And def a faint pink thick line. Maybe I'll just wait a couple of days before retesting. Or is it even worth it? And do you think it's worth me keeping temping now?
Arrgh my questions are already driving me spare so goodness knows what they're doing to you guys lol Am just so nervous after our m/c in March.

Hey Surfergirl, I am SO GLAD that your bleeding has settled and you're feeling better about everything. I couldn't stop thinking about you last night. It's all our worst nightmare.
Yes Emmecat my BFP line was very faint and for the next few days afterwards too! That's why I had that one blood test. I don't know when I ovulate really as I don't temp and never really got my EWCM either so I could have ovulated later.
I think we can all obsess over hcg bloods. They aren't really going to change the outcome are they???
I am tempted to go and get some more done but will try and hold off. As I said, Im overseas anyway so can't really.
Have a good day girls and bring on the MS (so we know we're pg!!)

Hey Emmecat I had a very faint line on my first hpt but it was still enough to see and I made dp check it incase it was all in my head but he could see it too. I took another test the next day and it was still really faint maybe a tad darker so went to see mw and got bloods done so i know for sure im preg - when will you get your bloods done? Its so easy to stress about these things aye! I still dont have any preg symtoms apart from no af so that has kinda made me worry but hopefully im just going to be lucky this time round :)
Glad to hear the bleeding stoped Surfergirl!! and yes i think if you are starting to feel sick thats a good sign :)
Welcome Sars!!! grrr some poeple just dont think before they speak - especially telling that to a preg woman!! how are you not ment to worry about it! Im sure it will be fine thou - and congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Pippa, thanks for that- I think I will go see my GP next week as I've had a m/c in March and also a missed m/c about 9 years ago about 12 weeks. Apparently both were just bad luck adn there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with DP or I so am crossing fingers for a sticky bubba this time!
My test this morn is def a little darker- just took longer for the darkness to come up lol. I'm sure it will be darker still in a couple of days. A blood test next week will confirm for sure. I think I'm earlier than my ticker says though- pretty sure I'm not quite 4 weeks TBH, although I won't know for sure until we have a dating scan I guess? lol
Anyone else have little crampy twinges? I know they're meant to be normal but gee they are a little disoncerting!

Good Morning ladies, nice to see the group growing!
Surfergirl - I had brown spotting off and on for 3 days with my first pregnancy, and everything was fine. Try not to worry - I know thats easier said than done though!
Emmecat - I also did another HPT yesterday expecting the line to be much darker, but it was still kinda light, I guess theres always something to worry about!!!
I'm beginning to wish I went back to get my HCG bloods done, I can't believe they didn't do it! I keep thinking 'what if its all in my head'!
My midwife is on leave at the moment, so haven't talked to her yet, she will be back on the 8th - but that seems like ages away!!
I am feeling absolutely exhausted at the moment and finding it very hard to keep up with Mr 8 months, hope it doesn't last too long, I'm already counting down the days to 12 weeks!
Hows everyone else feeling?

Owwhh sorry to hear of your m/c's, must have been heartbreaking! **sticky baby dust to you!!** Yea it took longer for the line to get darker second time round and all day id be going back and comparing the tests, just to make sure it was still there and darker than the first haha sounds so silly writting this!
You are waiting till next week for bloods - Omg you have the patients of a saint!
ohh and i had heaps and heaps of cramps around the time of testing too, i still do but def not as much - so im sure you have nothing to worry about :) Its probably just baby getting nice and cosy in there, burring down nice and deep

Hi Guys,
Totally agree Emmecat, it's nice to have other people feeling as nervous/sh*te scared as us!
When I POAS the line was dark and immediate, which made me think this was a sticker...we'll see.
I caved in and decided I couldn;t wait for tomorrow to do the bloods, so I went to the medical centre and got some more done urgently. So that way hopefully DH and I will know today what's going on.
My boss is away and I'm running the company until she returns in October! I'm unable to think about anything and not doing the job any justice, so that's my justification for going and getting them done early.
Feeling A LOT like getting my period today, so that's perhaps not a good sign. I've never been soooooo 'in touch' with every cramp/twinge etc that my body makes. It's driving me NUTS!
Anyhow - come 2pm I should know whether I'll be hanging around in here a bit longer or whether I'll be back in the other threads...
Finger crossed for you all (and for me!)

Surfergirl- am crossing my fingers for you but sure you'll be ok...
This is *such* a hard time hey?! I think it's pretty normal to have AF like cramps for the first few weeks isn't it? If you scroll through the other months, most women seem to get them at some stage.....
And not that you probably want to hear this, but if you were mc, those cramps are MUCH stronger than AF cramps.... not naggy twinges or a dragging feeling...real full on and fairly painful (well mine were, even at 5 wk pg) . I think they're pretty recongnisable from settling in cramps.
Someone else might be able to correct me but that was def my experience.

Surfergirl, finger toes everything crossed for you.
I have had the worst day so far, Baby decided it wanted to play the mornig sickness card today. So I guess fun anc games are coming my way. It was just a matter of time.
Question do anyone have a solution to itchy nipples? OMG they are driving me mad, I am walking around the office trying to conceal my scratching.
I have been having pains but I have had these with all my pregnancies so I just put them down to stretch and grow.
When to start worrying is when the pain is so bad that you can't walk or sit or you in yourself feel as though something isn't right.
When I lost Anika I knew something wasn't right as I was doubled over with pain, turned out she had passed away 4 days before hand.
If you feel like you just need some reassurance call yur MW or GP that is what they are there for. Don't they tell us not to worry???????? So if you are worried call, I am a big beliver in you and Baby first & no question or concern is to little.
Ladies look after yourselves

Sorry - cut and paste from the other thread...
OK - update...levels today are 3,450 which is up, but not double.
Nurse at the surgery said come back Friday for some more...but certainly no wine tonight!
She thinks that the fact it's early days and that 1st lot were taken late monday night and these ones were early this morning that it's not bad news...but...well, you know...
Legs crossed!!!
Hope you are all doing well and I'm sorry if my dramas are dominating the thread...

Hey everyone!
My name is Shelley, I found out on Saturday that I'm pregnant with baby number 2! My son Ollie is nearly 12 months old so there is going to be a twenty month gap between the two.
I had a dating scan today to see where things are at, I'd estimated I was 5 weeks and 3 days but I had two periods in July both lasting a week! So the Dr thought I might be 7 weeks and that I'd had spotting. The scan measured at 5 weeks 3 days, but bubs was too little to be seen, so I have to go back next Thursday!
I feel very blessed!! I have PCOS and keep being told that we'll have a really hard time getting pregnant, but we've been lucky enough to fall pregnant naturally twice. Good luck and I'm thinking sticky thoughts for you all!!!!

Hey Emmecat, I'm at that worried stage a bit myself, while the dates matched up the technician couldn't see anything yet in the "pregnancy sack" so I'll probably be a bit worried until next Thursday (which will take forever to get here) when hopefully we'll see a little heart beat!
I didn't have to worry about this last time, I was 8 weeks pregnant with Ollie before we found out about him, and he was already quite visable in the dating scan.
I just really want to enjoy this pregnancy like I did with my last one without worrying too much about everything (easier said then done!). I had blood and urine tests this morning so hopefully I'll hear back about those soon!

I just called the Pathlab and she told me it could be a couple of days before I get the results (talk about leaving me hanging!!). In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to trust that everything is as it is ment to be (hopefully growing well!!!). I did start to get a bit of nausea this morning which I think is a good sign.

Evening ladies. Wow it's been busy in here today! Just got back from seeing my midwife, she was lovely, spent an hour answering my millions of questions! I have a form for twice weekly HCG levels but couldn't get it done today cos pathlab was closed by the time I got there!
I will see her again at 10 weeks. Dumb thing was I came out of the consult room and one of the girls from work was in the waiting room so now our secret is out!! But she has promised not to say anything.
Shelley - Congratulations! Welcome to May Mummies!
Sufergirl - the MW said to me not to worry about the HCG levels doubling as long as there is a good jump and yours definately was
Emmecat - I took six HPT's and they were all still really faint until I waited 3 whole days and took another one 16DPO and it was definately much darker

Glad to see we have some more May Mummies joining in!
Surfergirl, good to see your bloods are rising. Hang in there and try to keep positive.
I'm exhausted today, mind you I have been pounding the pavement in Brisbane trying to find us somewhere to live as we move over in a couple of weeks time. So my baby will be born in Oz!! Oh no! Just kidding, I will be happy as long as it's born at all!!
I have quite a lot of cramps yesterday and today. Feels quite uncomfortable sometimes. Makes me worry a bit but no bleeding so will just hope its my ligaments & other bits down there preparing for the next 8 months.
I'm not sure whether or not to get any more hcg bloods done. Maybe I'll just wait until we move over here and then see how I feel.
Have a lovely evening

Emmecat- I think you should test again tomorrow morning, when HCG levels are concentrated in your wee You are only 13DPO aren't you? So your HCG levels will still be quite low and may not be high enough to show up in an afternoon test =o)
I did one test in the afternoon and it was probably the faintest one of the lot.
I will take a picture of my tests and post it for you to see

Welcome Shells,
It is great to have so many ladies who are going through the same thing to just chat, rant, cry type scream. It has made the last couple of weeks so easy.
I found out I am not actually due on the 5th May I am actually due on the 1st.
I was worried about going into labour on my Daughters Birthday but specialist said they would bring me on once I hit May. YAH
CarrieMum, I am from Brisbane so if you need any help or advice on where to live let me know. I know Brisbane like the back of my hand. PM me any questions you may have.
I just placed a bid on a doppler, does anyone else have one?
Hope you are all feeling well and babies are all tucked up tight inside.
