Hi all,

I know a bit about allergies because my son has a dairy allergy. The only thing that I have shown any allergy to is Bees - just the once a few years ago.

However last night I ate dinner - nothing new or different (Chicken pasta and a cold beer) and within 30 minutes I had welts over my body and my throat was swollen, we went to the doc who gave me drugs and I am now fine - apart from really bad skin!!

He says that I had an Anaphylaxis reaction to something I had eaten. The doc has suggested that I have to see my GP tomorrow to arrange for more tests and an epipen.

Anyway I'm slightly confused - how can I get to 30 years of age with no dramas and have such a bad reaction last night.

Has this happened to anyone else or am I just different.

I feel really sorry for people who have had to deal with this their who life - it was so scary and I looked like I had been in a fire (my skin was that red).

Im now too scared to eat because I don't know what caused it - could be good for the figure!!

You can be exposed to things many times before having a reaction. This isnt all that common for it to be over years but like you it can happen.  Im glad you are all right and were able to get to the Dr in time.

I hope the tests come back soon. Chicken, pasta and beer leave a lot of options open

Oh Tania, I wondering why you haven't been in touch, Hope you are ok now?
Can be onset new allergy or your body been overload with allergens. See what happening in last 24hour before your reactions to see you have eaten or inhaled, like hayfever have just starting last weekend as few of us already suffering including friend of mine's son (she thought he is coming down with colds till I told her my hayfever already starting, the pin drop..)
take care
