Hi there

my bubs has reflux and is on losec for that, just waiting for the increase of dose to kick in!

I thought a few weeks ago that he had a cold as he had mucus in his nose like thick snot that wouldnt come out on its own but that was almost 3 weeks ago and he still has it every now and then -its not runny or anything and hes well apart from this so dont think its still a cold

so I was wondering what are the symptoms of milk protien alergy?

thanks

For Spencer it was severe constipation and the development of ezcema over the majority of his body, especially bad on his face and upper torso. He also showed signs of what I now know is reflux at his feeds. Spencer's was fairly easy to diagnose as it happened once he was weaned onto formula and just before he started solids so was only really one thing that could have caused it.
Spencer was always a snotty baby as well but i'm not sure if that is a symptom or whether they can just be snotty.

If you are breastfeeding you cold try cutting diary out of your diet for 2 weeks and see if it makes a difference.

Also there is some stuff called fess little noses, it's just a saline solution that you can use to help clear out their nose, comes with a lovely little thing for sucking the boogers out too

Keiran had a snuffly nose from about 1 week old.
He also has reflux so I went on a dairy free diet a month ago and his nose cleared up. The reflux is so much better too so I've taken him off losec.
It's not easy doing the dairy free thing to start with, but now I'm used to it it's not so bad. I've lost a bit of weight too

Another thing to cut out is tomatoes and onions - Keiran is really bad if I eat them.

Maya we had no symptoms till she had a bottle of cows milk formula at 5 mths and blew up in hives within minutes. We later found out that traces of dairy in my breastmilk were eating away at her digestive system and causing gastric bleeding She had an IgE mediated milk allergy as well as eggs and peanuts and an IgG mediated soy intolerance. She outgrew it around 3 1/2.

With the gremlins it started with reflux and nasty, blistered, bleeding nappy rash. I eliminated dairy from my diet with no effect so eventually weaned them onto Neocate and the reflux stopped within a week. They had an IgG mediated cows milk protein intolerance, we kept them 100% milk, egg and peanut free till they were 10 mths and had testing done then gradually introduced cows milk and they have been fine ever since.
