Last night after dinner Mercedes blew up in hives all around her mouth. That in itself is odd, as it's usually Sienna that has the random reactions (Sienna has peanut anaphalaxis, Mercedes has no known food allergies), but the strangest part was yet to come.

A few minutes later I noticed *Maya* had come up in hives, not as bad as Mercedes but a few small ones on her chin and a big one under her eye. Now that is even more random coz Maya has outgrown all her known allergies and hasn't had an allergic reaction since she was 2.

I can't for the life of me figure out what caused it. They didn't have anything new for dinner, just burger buns, Mad Butcher meat patties which they've had lots of times before, pineapple, lettuce, cheese, tomato and sauce. But it's unlikely to be environmental coz it was localised around their faces.

Odd! Anyone had anything similar?

Could of the Mad Butcher but something new in their meat patties??? I would ask them if they have just to rule them out.

Weird! Mercedes drinks sauce out of the bottle if we don't lock it up

I thought about that Becks, read the ingredients which was pretty scary - some weird preservatives I don't even know the names of

Did the buns have seeds on them or anything?
Ella, who has no allergies, comes up in wee hives around her mouth when she has honey or sesame seeds!

My sister, who has never had allergies before had an allergic reaction to pineapple and came out in hives all around her mouth!

Wow that's random... I really hope you find out what it was soon! But that'd be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Was it more pineapple than they'd normally eat? That sets lots of people off... or fresh pineapple instead of tinned? Or did it have the core still in it? Dunno why but the pineapple core sets some people off... all so random! I'll get off the 'pineapple' bandwagon now!

Right from mama who experiences lots of reactions
From your quote above "after dinner" how long after dinner did this start to happen to Mercedes? then Maya?
What was Mercedes and Maya were doing after dinner? something they touch same object, was poss there is a trace of allergens left on object?
If soon after dinner, did you had something happening on the table during day that might accident left allergen on table or under table so your daughters accidently touch allergen then touch their face (well you know what girls like, brush hair off face, put fingers in the mouth etc...)
hope that give you ideas, that might be not what they have eaten...I recalled moment my first son covered in hives when he was toddler, my mum and I was baffled because he hasn't eaten egg....eventually we found out later my sister used this highchair for her daughter other days and she gave her daughter scrambled egg....hence trace of egg was left somewhere on highchair so unfortunately my son had reaction...
