How are you feeling?

Hi, I think i'm between 4 and 5 weeks. My lmp was October 22, I took a test Noveber 21 and it was negative but on Sunday I got a positive :). If I ovulated on day 14 I am 5 weeks today but I suspect I was 4 weeks pregnant on the weekend. Will have to wait for the scan but anyway I'm due early August with my first child :)

I wish I had some tests in the house too Stacey :)

I just feel relaxed. Not sure if I am forcing it or if I really do. Feel fine. Sore ligaments and sore bbs - just as I always get in early pregnancy.

Oh and I've started my weekly migraines :( I get hormonal migraines so in the first trimester I get 1 to 3 a week and then at 12 weeks they totally stop and I get none until the big hormonal shift that happens about 6 weeks into breastfeeding.

On Tues night the migraine was so bad my whole arm & my lips when numb. yuck. The wost thing is I can't take anything for them.

Hows everyone feeling today? I've got crampy feelings going on which is likely just my uterus stretching and man my boobs feel like they weigh a ton lol

I thought it would be cool to start a EDD list - so just copy and paste to add yourself

EDD List
kebakat (Stacey) EDD - 4th Aug

Posted By: lu123
Date Posted: 29 November 2008 at 5:32pm
my EDD is TBA but it could be anywhere from july 28 to august 3rd :) i will update it when i have my scan, i have a scan referral and i am going sometime next week to get it. can't wait to see how far along i am and make sure everything is okay with baby. i haven't had sickness yet, boobs were a bit sore last night but im mainly just exhausted!!

Posted By: kebakat
Date Posted: 29 November 2008 at 5:34pm
My MW is sending me a scan referral to do when I'm 6 weeks along. I'm going to try and hold out for an extra couple of days past then though. The longer I wait the more likely I am to see a heartbeat. Good luck for your scan though when you go for one.

I think I'm going to get morning sickness again I've been getting loads of salvia in my mouth this afternoon and its gross!

Posted By: lu123
Date Posted: 29 November 2008 at 5:56pm
same eh - i want to leave it a bit longer so I can see more :). i guess if i leave it until not next week but the week after when i'm nearly 7 weeks the scan will be clearer / more chance of a heartbeat?

that sucks.. hope you dont get it too badly! has anyone here noticed they are really hungry? I am usually a healthy eater and don't eat too much but i have been starving and craving sweet stuff all this week.

Posted By: kebakat
Date Posted: 29 November 2008 at 6:13pm
The heart beat starts at approx 6 weeks. Even a day or two can make a big difference in whether or not you see it. And it also depends on when you ovulated and when it implanted. If it did this late then you wait longer to see it. Does that make sense?

Yes I'm starving all the time and I have a sweet tooth anyway but it's just been appauling in the last week. All I want is sweet

yip does make sense. is there any way to tell when it implanted? do you know if the miscarriage risk goes down after the baby has a heartbeat? hope this hunger stage passes eh! lol

Posted By: kebakat
Date Posted: 29 November 2008 at 7:46pm
I believe it does go down but not by a huge amount, but as each week passes the risk reduces. The magic mark seems to be 12 weeks.

Posted By: FionaS
Date Posted: 29 November 2008 at 7:52pm
Evening.

This early stage of pregnancy is weird...you kind of have mild symptoms but don't actually physically feel pregnant.   It can be a little disconcerting!

Nothing new to report here. Still just sore sore sore bbs. Almost want to test again to ensure it is real LOL

Hey Fiona, try not to stress too much...I havent had a sore chest at all. And my symptons with MS come and go all the time... having said that if you start to get worried get in touch with your GP or midwife and I am sure they will ease your mind....

Scans are stressful but whats better.. getting a referral and an actual answer to is everything on track (and you don't even have to do it now - you could keep the referral form if you are feeling better about everything) or sitting around wondering if it's all ok

I spoke with my doctor and will be having bloods. Had another migraine today so not sure if I will make if for the blood test today or tomorrow.

Good luck Fiona - from what i have now read it looks normal for symptoms to disappear. and come back., can anyone here recommend any good pregnancy books? also one question.. how do i get the pretty counter down the bottom? I found the website to make one - but can't figure out how to put a counter in. 5 weeks 5 days today, can't wait to be a bit futher along so I can go to my scan and see something :)

Go into your profile (top right of the screen) and put the code the website gives you into the signature box in your profile

I loved Up the duff by Kaz Cooke. It was a funny read yet still had all the facts I needed to know. It's divided up week by week which is really cool.

Date Posted: 01 December 2008 at 6:53pm
I think if you click on someone elses ticker it'll link you to one of the sites to make your own. I use lilypie.com.

Had the bloods today. My bbs are sore again now    Silly body! I was totally happy and relaxed until this morning! now I think I may be a little more on edge for a while.

I coped really well with the last 2 miscarriages but it's just sunk in how much I want this baby now. Earlier in the year I didn't feel totally ready but now I do and I will be beside myself if something goes wrong again.

On the positive side, at least the miscarriages I've had are unrelated to each other and nothing to do with a problem with DH or I - they were just bad luck. Hopefully that means this one will be just fine.

Fiona - I'm much the same. The last 2 were kind of easy but if it happens again I'll be gutted... but I don't think it will

Yay for comfy bras! I don't know what I'm going to do this time for maternity bras. Soooo freaking expensive when you are rather well endowed and I don't think I'll fit my old maternity bras

I'm quite surprised I'm not doing that! But then I have a toddler who must accompany everyone into the toilet so that's a distraction haha

Have you guys told anyone other than on here?

Yay/Eek (not sure which one lol) - I have a scan booked for next Wednesday

Posted By: BusyMum2three
Date Posted: 02 December 2008 at 1:05pm
Stacey - yay about the scan! We have only told our parents at this stage as we went a bit overboard last time and then after I miscarried I had to explain to people in the supermarket what had happened...it was more awkward for them than me but I would rather go thru that again!

I have just been to Docs and had my first set of antenal bloods, he thru an HCG in there for good measure....now on to a midwife I gues (of which we have a whole two to choose from

Posted By: kebakat

I've told a couple of friends because they know I've had 2 failed attempts for #2 so they want to support us. The inlaws have been told but not my parents lol.. I'll tell my mum and dad after my scan.

My MW has sent through a bloods form for me but I'm not going for that until after my scan. I'm so over needles. I've probably had more needles this year than in the rest of my life combined

Hi! All good here today. I am surprised to say I am less hungry than usual and my bowel is *ahem* more active. I seem to remember this happening with Elle to then at around 8 or 9 weeks I started eating everything in sight. Bbs are back to their painful selves and stretching ligament discomfort continues.

I haven't told anyone except my boss - I knew I'd be taking lots of time off for migraines until 12 weeks. I want to tell everyone but we are holding out unti Christmas day.

Had an hcg test done yesterday and will get the results today I guess. Will do another tomorrow but I think it'll all be fine.

I'm due the same day as you Stacey! I think I'll have the scan next Fri.

I had to ring and book for my scan, I found out the hard way with Daniel that it's really very busy in Palmy, that was the only appt they could give me next week

Posted By: FionaS
Date Posted: 02 December 2008 at 3:17pm
Wed should be just fine I'm sure. I'm trying to hold out for fri but will ring and book soon so may end up on Wed or Thurs to get the time we need.

My hcg was 2082 which sounds promising (not that it means much). If it is too high it can mean the molar is regrowing but I don't think that sounds too high?? Certainly isn't too low. WIll have the other tomorrow probably although I am quite relaxed again now.
