Wondering how many of us are lurking around these forums?

We're moving out that way in the coming weeks, really looking forward to it and would love to get out and about and meet new people.

So does anyone know of any groups for the littlies, activities etc that they'd recommend? My boys is going on 21months, any music and movement groups, coffee groups etc?

TIA

I'm not sure about the groups but I know there are a few of us living out this way, me and Sheza for starters.

What area are you moving to?

Hey Buzzybee - I'm in Tuakau. I have just been given a list of groups in Pukekohe - but was told they have all closed down for the holidays and won't be open again until late Jan or Feb. I'll be ringing the area co-ordinator early Jan to find out for sure and will post here what info I find out. I too want to get out and meet new people.

Good luck with your move!

Would love to catch up with any mums in the area - pm me if you want my cell/home number.

BuzzyBee my sister in law lives in Waiuku, I know she does music and movement at the pukeoware hall. I am in Papakura and will be taking my son to the one at Drury.

There are pools at Puke and Waiuku, as well as playgroups that are run by mums .

Where abouts are you moving to? There is a lot to do in Papakura if you can travel to there? I take my son to baby gym, swimming at aquanauts and music.

Hey yeh i'm from waiuku & i plunket has totts n tunes every second friday i think & they have a coffee group too but yeah don't where exactly your moving to & yes there is a pool but i'd rather take my little one to the pukekohe reccentre more to do for him. Plus there so many beaches out these ways and it is that time of the year for it.

I still count Papakura as Franklin area, kind of!

We should organize something for everyone out our way as all the Auck meet ups seem to be more central or over the shore!

A couple ideas for places would be: Botanic Gardens, Butterfly Creek, Glenbrook Steam Train (Only on weekends though), Plenty of beaches to choose from, Franklin Zoo, Parks etc. Feel free to add to that list :)

Much easier for us if we can do something closer to home etc, I'm not confident with travelling into town or over the harbour bridge

Oh... can I jump in too. I live in Thames but it's not that far to Puke, Franklin etc.

Will keep an eye on the posts or PM me.

No baby yet just one on the way so I hope bringing a baby along isn't a mandatory requirement.

If you guys meet up at Clarks Beach then could have meet up at my place? I live on Clarks Beach Road & I have a huge lawn, trampoline, playground etc. And could then head down to the beach (2mins away) when everyone arrives?

The playground is down the end by the holiday park To be honest we don't go much because we go off our farm straight onto the beach anyway so need to drive down the road if I can just go for a good healthy walk & get to the beach. And also durin gscallop season there is always heaps of people down at the main beach

Hi Chonny - Alisha has tried calling the past two nights but both times I have been caught with trying to settle Ariahn - who for some reason has been a bit grumpy at that time of night.

I'm flexible on meeting - would prefer a week day as DD1 is at school and it's easier with just one child. But I can do weekends as well.

What is everyone else availability like?

Week days suit me better too as DH is usually home on the weekends & i don't like deserting him.

Sorry to hear Alisha hasn't got hold of you yet. I'm sure she will keep trying. Is there a better time for her to call that i can let her know for you?

Shall we arrange a get together for the puke/waiuku/franklin bunch of us?

During school time is good for me. The week of 16th-20th Mar I'm free every day except Tues. When suits other Mums? Just as suggestion, maybe we could have a shared lunch picnic somewhere...

How about Monday 16 March .. shared picnic lunch at a park somewhere (to be decided by someone else who knows the region better than me ).

The only good parks I know of are:
- papakura (near main street, great playground)
- tuakau (down by river, lots of trees and picnic tables and a nice playground)

Monday sounds good.

I am at clarks beach. There is the playgroup place,
hardly anyone goes on Monday. There is a small playground and an indoor room as well in case it is raining.

It is on Tokar road in Clarks Beach.

Otherwise a park is good. We usually hang out at the Puke park by the college and pak n save.

What is most central?

Tuesday?  Otherwise I can meet up next time.  I don't normally have anything on, on Mondays - I just hang out at playgroup if others turn up.

I am in Thames and would be keen to attend.

My little man Benjamin James arrived on 21 February via c-section and I won't however be able to drive by then. Please keep me in mind for the next meet up and thanks to VanessaD for the PM.

Have a nice meet up and I hope to see you at the next one.

Hi guys,

sadly I am in Taupo that day.  Gosh when I look at the calender I usually don't have anything on, bummer it is twice in a row.

What is everyone up to this coming Monday??

I can get the key to playgroup just after 10.30.  It is suppose to close around 12 but we are sometimes there longer.  If you would rather meet up later you are all more than welcome to come to my place or we can meet up at a park somewhere???  There is usually only 1 other person there on Mondays.

Then we can find somewhere central for RunningT for when she can drive.

Sorry I spelt it wrong it is Tokar Road.

It is kind of in the middle.  Next to the bowling club.  Actually you see the bowling club sign first and turn down the drive way, drive around the buildings and then it is next to the clarks beach bowling club.

I don't mind meeting closer, I was just thinking of something that can be used with the rain.

Lol Its nothing freaky, I did Tupperware in her group for a very brief time. I made a big mess of it though unfortunately

Your Mum often talked about you and Vincent so I put 2 + 2 together Its weird, its such a small world!

Would be great if we could meet up next tuesday, and with Raggy and anyone else too.. Maybe if the weather is good we could simply take the kids to a park in Papakura or Puke (I don't really know many good places in Kura, but Puke has a playground opposite Pak N Save). Brain doesn't function properly lol, still putting it down to mummy-brain... figure I've got another couple of years of that at least hehe

Anyway, off to get some sleep, its Jacob's 3rd night in a big bed which is going great!!! BUT Hamish has a cold so has been a very long 24 hours, hopefully tonight and tomorrow go better

Hi all,

well it seems like Wednesdays is the day that suits everyone.

I did suggest the next meeting at my house, but maybe we can meet with Louise at Waiuku instead.   Louise would you be happy organising the next one??

Hi, yes I would be more than happy to organise the next one. Wednesday I will have only my baby as my 2.5yr girl will be at preschool.

How is everyone placed for next week 29th at 10.30am? I'm away for the 1st 2 weeks in May.

PM me for address :)

Hi all, I met Raggy a couple of weeks ago and was sent this link, have at last managed to get time to hook on! Would love to meet you all but unfortunately have a 'staff meeting' at my job on Wed the 29th (10am no less) which has really bummed me out.
But would love to meet you all another day? Maybe the first week in May?
