We are looking for someplace very very family friendly.. hopefully where most of the neighbors would have young families. Hmm.. what else.. I know the economy is tight everywhere right now, but I hear Tauranga has been holding on pretty well. Seems like a lot of businesses for sale though.. I totally agree with merivale being a no go we are in maungatapu now and I love it lots of families here so all the kids play together the schools a good one and just down the road and kindy around the corner which is also nice. Its also close to town and supermarkets and playgrounds etc. We also lived in papamoa for a couple of years but didnt like that as much. Nice area nice houses and stuff but the a lot of the adults were a bit snobby, Lol. Lived there for over 3 years. Stay away from the Jones St area. Big problems with roaming dogs and a lot of gang members live there. We lived very close to there. Most parts of Greerton are fine though. Came to this thread coz I've only recently come to Tauranga and urgently needed a midwife. My friend raved about Robin Cronin who was her midwife for her boys. She's been away and just come back so I was really lucky to get her. She is just so fantastic and really caring. She also does home visits for you which is great for me with a really active toddler.
