I have read that taking Aloe internally is not safe during pregnancy - but is directly on skin (face) ok?
I have had the worst ever acne out break and its very very sore and irritated I really want to put Aloe on!!
Thanks in advance for any info

As far as I know you can use aloe vera on your skin. My doctor actually advised it when I complained about itching a few weeks ago, and she is very fussy about what you can take/use in pregnancy (in her opinion practically nothing).

Hi there, just an FYI really, not sure how relevant given that Aloe isn't a 'prescription medicine' or anything I guess - but might be worth asking?

I asked the Locum Doctor I saw today about a specific acne topical solution I had... she had a little guide book that lists drugs specifically in relation to pregnant woman and it grades them for safety etc.

She also told me that pharmacy's have a 'bible' of drugs and when they are and aren't safe to use - her suggestion was to pop in and see a Pharmacy and ask them to check it in their books too.
