Ava had a small cold about a week and a half ago and since then (well I have only noticed it recently) she has been cocking her head to the right. It isn't constant. She will do it off and on for a few seconds. She doesn't seem in pain or out of it at all but she doesn't smile when she does it so I dont think its a game. She was doing it badly before she went to bed. What could it be? I am really concerned.

How old is Ava? Is she a refluxy baby?
Clara did that all the time and I thought it was just something babies did but after she was given medication for reflux it stopped. Later I was reading the Crying Over Spilt Milk http://www.cryingoverspiltmilk.co.nz/Symptoms.htm - site and I noticed it said that "some babies may hold their head to one side in an unusual position to ease their discomfort"
But obviously if she is not refluxy it's not the cause, I just thought I'd throw it out there...

Hmmm not sure about Ava but Hayden did that for about a week or two but it was just a new trick for him, he would giggle sometimes and other times he would do it by himself not looking for attention just learning how to make his body move at will I think. I hope its just as harmless for Ava.

Jackson was doing this while he had an ear infection. Maybe get her checked just in case?

It can be a habit and fun but given that she just had a cold, I'd be thinking ear infection like Kylie. The other thing it can be symptomatic of is eye problems (e.g. lazy eye where the muscles in one eye are a bit weak), but ear is probably most likely.

I took Ava to the Dr today and the Dr said her ears were fine, so she has referred her to an ENT specialist. I hope it is nothing serious...

Fingers crossed it will all be fine, but yay for having a proactive GP.
