Miss Rhiannon has an ear infection, and has been given antibotics but i just cant get them into her, and if she does take it, she throws it all up within 5mins...its proving to be a nightmare.
Im just waiting for the doctors to open to talk to the nurse to see if there is something else they can give her or what they recommend.
this is my 2nd 3am start with a sick child (who isnt napping during the day), and im exhausted, cant be good for me, baby or her

i dont think there is a best way... if she is throwing it up then no matter how it goes in its not going to help. we have used a syringe here when they were smaller and sometimes you just have to force it in. it must taste bad or something to get thrown up again tho.

We usually mix meds with a drink she likes. What type of AB is it? Eva loves the taste of Amoxicillin

DH actually has a good way, he would get 2 egg cups or shot glasses measure out the AB's and put it into 1 then fill the other (for him) with something that looked the same and they would have a race and whoever had theirs all gone first would get a treat (usually a ice block)
he would hand s hers then say "when i say 3"
and then the " on you marks get set 1 . .2 . 3"
it actually worked pretty well
or get her to drink it thru a straw out of the medicine cup
i like the icecream idea tho LOL gotta try that 1

this one was peach flavoured, and because rhiannon only drinks water couldnt mix it in (and it would make milk curdle).
she doesnt have to take them anymore, took her back to the doctors yesterday and it turns out that she didnt have an ear infection in the first place, so the doctor threw away the antibotics.
by lunchtime yesterday she was eating again, and she had dinner and b/fast this morning and just has a residue cough

Bianca, my oldest never has a problem taking whatever medicines. She learned to swallow tablets when she was 4 and that is great as she has to have chemo tablets every single night. As for liquid meds, we've always used a syringe with her. Good thing we have no problems with her because some of her meds we can't mix with anything.
With Caitlyn, my youngest, she hates taking medicine, so the other day we took a syringe and filled it with water and she thought that was pretty cool. Now every time we tell her that it is water or juice and so far (except last night) it has done the trick.
