We moved to Swanson last month and have joined the Swanson Playcentre which I have found really good so far. We have met people in the area and Jack gets a great chance to have a good run around and mix with kids of different ages. They seem alot more relaxed here than other playcentres I have heard about.
Maybe you could try the Playcentre

I live in Henderson (off Sturges Road) .. they run a playgroup on a Wednesday morning at the Sturges Road community centre.
Issy and I trundle along .. its a pretty casual affair, the kids play with the toys and the Mums chat and have coffee .. you could go along to that.
9.30am - 11.30am (during school terms).
Oh and the kiddies range from teeny (3 months or so .. right through ... but the wee ones, mostly lie under those gym things while Mum chats).

You could try mainly music on a Friday at West Harbour (its in that Church on Hobsonville Road, there is always a sign out).
I think its at 9.30 .. (or 10am)

There is one session at 9:30 then coffee/morning tea at 10am then a second session at 10:30. Its $3 per session.
The 10:30 session is much quieter than the first session (and much more enjoyable)

I think that the Ranui Church does a Mainly Music as well, am sure that I have seen a sign out as I have driven past.
According to the http://www.plunket.org.nz/plunket-you/plunket-in-your-area/waitemata/?offset=2&cat=30#suburbs-services - Plunket website there is a Plunket Playgroup in Massey. I haven't been but went to the one in Titirangi a few times and it was really good, I think about $4 and it incl morning tea for the parents

hi ladies thanks for the replys.
we go to the mainly music at the sturges road community center on a thursday $4.00 per family. and we have just found out about the play gorup so thought we would try that one too.
there is a mainly music on swanson road at the ranui baptist church but it didnt suit us as its very busy and DD gets a bit shy with everyone running around.
im going to check out the swanson play center (can i just turn up or should i ring first?) we went to the henderson valley one and my daughter loved all the arts and crafts. also heard the massey one is really good.
if anyone is keen to catch up for a coffee im happy to host at my place.

Hi Ladies,
I'm in Tat South.. an almost 3 year old and a 9 month old.
Are you ladies all in Facebook? Sometimes it's easier to meet up with strangers when you have at least seen their faces hehe.. So if you want to join the group, it's closed so only members can access the info and we can maybe put more information in there? Just look up "Westie Mums" and request to join :)

Hey,
I have a 17 month old, work part time and live in Henderson Heights. I sometimes free on Tuesdays for any get togethers, would love to know if anything has eventuated from the forum...
My coffee group dissolved unfortunately, people just didn't respond to the emails and didn't turn up to events. I'm not much of a leader/organiser (clearly!) or perhaps it would have gone a bit better. So, not wanting to organise people again, but feeling the need to meet some other mums.
Perhaps some feedback on the different groups eg. Mainly Music up at Summerland Sturges Rd community centre would be good!
Thanks!
Sharon

Hi
I think this is my first post on Oh Baby.....a virgin! Well not quite as number 2 due in next 2 weeks:)
I am in Swanson and apart from Mainly Music on Thursday morning are pretty flexi with rest of week. I have a 2 year old son and we are always keen to get out and about or have someone come over. My house is very child friendly (does that read as being messy?). Anyway let me know.
Cheers
Mel

hi, sorry for the terribly delayed reply, need more hours in my day/ days in my week,etc...!
Thanks for the feedback on the Mainly Music, interesting I heard similar things re the Summerland one. I only seem to have Tuesdays off now and nothing happening on that day it seems!! Went swimming today which was fun! Perhaps that could be a meet up?
I also have a fully fenced yard, which is just awesome, so keen to have some play dates too... that makes 3 of us at least?
