So my MW and I have made a plan for this one's birth. She will get 1 week to come on her own, and if she isnt here by 41 weeks then we will have a elective c section booked in(will do that when I see the specialist in about 3 weeks or so).
They wont induce me at all due the risk of uterus rupturing.
Also, my MW said that any time during the labour if I feel like I cant do it anymore, I can tell them Ive had enough and can request a c section, so that makes me feel better, that I can call the shots more this time!
I think i was left FAR too long in labour before they did my c section, cos by the time it was done, me and Caden were exausted and had high temps and it was just sucky! DH didnt even get to cut the cord cos it was so emergency this time It would be lovely if he could cut the cord, and if we could get some photo's etc.
Anyways, thats my little update, will know more once mW and I have spoken to the specialist!

Yep same MW I love her, she is great!!
I am quite scared about the birth, and I will be scared if I have to have another c section, cos of the problems I had with caden, even though I know this one will be so much different.
Hopefully the specialist will make me feel better about things.

Its always a relief to have a plan isnt it? I felt so much better when I talked to my OB and decided to induce (even though I didnt want to) as we finally had a game plan rather than waiting on nature....which IMHO often stuffs up
You will be so much more relaxed and in control this time that it will be a breeze

funny how different MW's/hosptials do things and we are only 2 hours away from you.
I got induced 11 days overdue with my attempted VBAC. prostin gel twice (only the lowest dose) and they were prepared to put me on the syntocin drip too. But in the end when I'd had enough of not progressing and went for the c-section we were not able to take pics and DH couldn't cut the cord (not that he'd want to,lol).
I didn't want to get induced but they 'scared' me into it by telling me my fluid was low. But when the Obs broke my waters, there certainly wasn't a shortage of it!
I was really scared too, more scared that I'd end up with another section. But it was so much better this time. Even though I'd still laboured for a long time I wasn't as tired and the section wasn't an emergency. The obs was really nice and I even got skin to skin with Spencer which I never got with DD.
Did you get induced with your first?

No, i was booked into be induced on June 24th, but my waters broke at 2.30am on the 21st(hehe a whole year ago a few hours from now) so I didnt need to get induced. Labour took a long time to progress and by the 47 hour mark I was shattered and wasnt budging past 9.5cm because there was a lip of cervix that wouldnt move, Caden was stuck, there was a lot of meconium in the waters and my temp was rising and Cadne was stressed, so they wouldnt let me go any longer and I was rushed down to theater and given the emergency c section.
Im really scared as well, Im scared of not knowing how this is all going to go, and I cant get Cadens birth out of my head, all the problems I had afterwards aswell, it took me a good 6 weeks to even be able to walk without hobbling So Im scared of another section, even though I know it wont be nearly as bad as the one with Caden, Im also scared of labour and birth if I manage to go into labour before 41 weeks!
We see the OB on the 2nd July, so I will see what he has to say, he might tell me that its better I have an elective when Im due...or he might encourage me to try for a VBAC, gah I dont know which Id rather do now lol!
Sorry that post turned into a bit of a rant!

Sheena I totally understand you being scared!
I am petrified at the thought of birthing again.
Just let them give you their advice and take time to think about it.
At the end of the day you have to do what is best for YOU as well as what is best for bubs.
You might find this time around if you going in with less expectations on yourself (I remember how adament you were about not being induced and having a natural birth... I was the same) that your body will be able to do what it couldnt quite manage with Caden.
At least this time you know what your body can handle and will be much better prepared physically and emotionally to handle a change of plan if need be.
I hope that made sense and didnt sound too preachy!
