Thanks to those of you who have followed our journey with Elle's sleep. Although it may not have been apparent, I appreciated and absorbed every piece of advice you lovely ladies gave me. Every comment was valued.

One or two people have commented that they were following our journey and wondered how we were getting on so I thought I'd post this for the rest who may be interested.

We have found a doctor who is not only familiar with her sleep disorder but with a wave of the hand says "it is no big deal, is treatable, and will resolve with time". He is a sleep and respiratory paed and has come across it all before! Where has this man been for the last 2 years lol!

Elle is doing great. Since removing dairy from her diet we have no behavioural issues (other than being 3 haha!). She is a bright, loving, caring, outgoing and very confident (x10) wee girl. She is a delight and is doing amazingly at everything she is involved in...Kindy, friendships etc.

Anyway, we now have melatonin which we will need to give her when she wakes in the night. We previously used it but only at the start of the night. Eventually she will outgrow the sleep disorder. He says that often happens around the time they start school. For really bad patches we have an antihistamine that seems to work wonders.

She has been cleared of anything on the autistic / adhd spectrum which is fantastic.   As an infant the docs told us she exhibited heaps of potential "warning signs" but now she has none...zero...

So that is it...hopefully the end of a very long journey. Thank you again ladies for the role you've played in supporting me...it hasn't been easy and I acknowledge that I've had time of overanalysing and obssessing over it all. Ok, read stressing .   I guess that is just something Mums do once and a while.
