How did you get your child one?
I got given the complete brush off in the effectiveness of these today & I felt like I was a waste of this guys time. Just cause Cooper & I are on an elimination diet so he's not reacting all over the place to stuff. I want to know what form of dairy intolerance or allergy he has. This I feel would give me a firm step forward. I am almost at wits end & I had looked forward to this appointment for ages so to not have any answers firstly made me angry & now I'm upset about it. I just wish I didn't give a sh*t about my kids & just feed them "crap" food. I know I won't do this as then I end up dealing with the child from hell, who wouldn't eat it anyway so I'd be pouring money in the rubbish bin & I would have a completely miserable child & a more tired Mummy & Daddy. Get a supportive doctor... so find a different one and get a second opinion.
We got one by telling our doc how Harry would break out in itchy uncomfortable hives randomly, and we weren't sure what he was reacting to (she had actually seen him during one severe attack so I don't know if that helped) Has he ever had any reaction, before you started the elimination diet? If so, tell them about that - and explain that now you're on an elimination diet but would like to know what he is allergic/intolerant to. Your gp can give you a form to get one done through medlab. Is such a shame how suck arse the public system is, our paed has always just done the test himself in his office, but then he is private and he is an allergy paed so I guess that helps. The paeds at the hospital seemed to know nothing about allergies at all, one hadn't even heard of neocate, which is worrying. -------------

This guy was the allergy specialist! I insisted on changing from the cardiac specialist cause we ruled out heart problems.
Liz, I did all that, I did forget to mention the mucous poos but I did say about rest of the stuff that was related to dairy around that time & that I cut it out of both of our diets & he right himself. I think his first 2 months I was having dairy for around 3-4 weeks before & started battling nappy rash & the pooh & then the penny dropped when I saw the eczema & he got broncolitis. I didn't have dairy for the first few weeks cause it normally reacts with me & a chance trial I discovered it didn't so I started having dairy in my coffees again. Yeah just keep persisting and if you have a good GP that will help heaps, there is lots you can do without a paed thankfully, and hopefully when you see the dietician they will be able to help as well.
Is so silly cos I bet if you had given him a pint of milk and other things you suspect him to be allergic/intolerant too before the appointment so that he showed physical signs you would have got somewhere, but why should you have to do that to your kid to get help? Honestly some Dr's need a good big slap, and most certainly need to get down off their self appointment pedestal and stop fobbing parents off. -------------
