Hi all
Just wanted to warn anyone looking at buying a skep convertible carseat from babyonline that not to buy the following carseat. The reason is that I took it to Plunket today after receiving it to get them to help me put it in correctly rearfacing and it does not recline enough for a newborn baby. The babies head would flop down and would seriously hurt their head. I am now trying to get the company to take it back.

I hope they come to the party and let you return it! Just mention that it is false advertising as it clearly can't be used from birth!
If you're looking for a inexpensive carseat, the Cosco Scenera retails for around $200, although it regularly goes on sale at The Warehouse for about $140. Baby on the Move and Repco also stock it. Just be sure to check the expiry date if buying from Repco or The Warehouse as if it's been sitting for a year or two you can bargain down the price with them BOTM you shouldn't have to worry about though. They Rear-face to 16kgs which sees alot of children through to about 2 years, some longer.
Hope it gets sorted for you quickly

yeah I know I hope they agree to take it back and give us a refund (we are happy to pay for postage) back to them.. BUT because plunket can't write anything down to say that it is unsafe for a baby under 7mths I may not get anywhere with it. But I have emailed the company and will just have to wait and see what they say - don't really want to onsell it to anyone else as from what plunket said they don't work even forward facing as too much movement.

Hi there, I bought a 2 in 1 Travel system from Nappies for less in Pukekohe, which is a Baby Online store. They have agreed to refund my money because it is the same situation as yours. The seatbelts DO NOT fit over the carseat correctly. I am annoyed because I now have to look for an alternative for my one week old Grandson, however, we have managed to hire a Carseat for his first six months from Baby Factory for only $50 and my daughter in law was given a brand new Carseat for 6 months onwards, so I'm happy....and now all I need to get is a pram....I am very skeptical about Skep Products now, especially after reading some of the reviews, and have opted to get a Pram which is on special at Baby Factory instead. You must insist on getting a refund, as long as the seat has not been used, you are entitled to it...Best of Luck...
