I keep checking the itti bitti website several times a day, just in case the new limited addition nappies are listed so I can add to my stash.
Anyone else share my addiction??

Not yet as bubs isn't born, I want to start my stash but don't know whether to get a couple of smalls or go straight for a 1/2 doz mediums and use sposies until they fit.

I didn't start on cloth until DS was 3 months as up until then he was still pooing at every feed and I wasn't organised enough yet to deal with the nappies as well as everything else.
But, my boy is just above 50th percentile for length and weight and is in mediums and is on the tightest setting but without the cross-over if that makes sense? I personally wouldn't bother with smalls, to me mediums seem to be better value for money, but that may just be me

caliandjack if it was me I would go for the meds and get some prefolds and covers for the first month or so (infant sized rather than NB) they will cost less and I have found that DD has been in her med itti for ages
I only have 1 and I want MORE!!!!!

I will buck the trend, not all babies are big or average size for that matter... Jake didnt go into his mediums AIO until 6 months and SIO a few weeks later.
Having said that, I would still probably get mediums with the view to buying some smalls if bubs is an itti bitti like mine
I cant wait for the limited editions to come out!!!!!!

My skinny man went into meds at 9 months! I had him in med SIO's over night before then though.
I really want to get a whole pile of new ones & recycle some of my older ones...just cause I can but no money & we need the money for our trip to Oz.
I have a friend who bought me a giraffe, she even told DH to make sure that I didn't buy one from Oz
Oh & I used folded flats & covers for the first 6 weeks. Didn't have to worry about size, I moved onto MCN's cause the covers I had didn't contain dairy allergy poos. Next time I'd know that a) I could use prefolds or b) that my newborn will fit smalls.
I also really want to try bitti brites. I am also gutted that I have to use disposables this weekend cause I'm away at dog shows all weekend & I don't want to wash & dry them in camp ground driers in case some one nicked them!

Thanks, think I'll got for a 1/2 doz mediums while I've still got an income coming in, and supplement with a mix of sposies and prefolds and maybe a couple of smalls till they fit. Seems mediums last the longest as well.
I love the itty bitty colours and they're so soft and trim.

DD is wearing both smalls and mediums at the moment, but probably fits the smalls better still. I had enough smalls to use when out and about when she was little, and used mediums at home where it wouldn't matter so much if they leaked - and they almost never did, even though she was way lighter than they recommended.
I want to see the new limited editions! (And I'm very tempted by the last of the pink dots, but she's nearly out of smalls, and I already have one )

OMG I was about to write I confess LOL, guess what thread I've been reading!
I can't wait either. I'm so glad DH hasn't been paid cause I just so want to buy some of the larges for later on at the $10 off! Plus I need some more mini boosters. Oh & I want some more wipes to start using for bums rather than the chux clothes I'm using.
Cooper is finally putting on some weight with drinking neocate so his meds are starting to be snug & we will soon be going back to one free snap in the middle!! So larges will be getting closer

I swing between what I prefer! Sometimes I prefer the AIO but now that C is putting on weight the SIO are fitting better.
Between the two kids I think I would use every colour, but not own them myself. The little girl I look after is in Itti's as well so I get girls itti joy as well The polka dot ones are SO cute!

Don't usually do anything. But if I add a booster I sometimes fold it in half sometimes doesn't. I find it doesn't matter, cause it's all pointing down anyway. Now that he's bigger, it would be more logical to fold the booster in half at the front.

Anyways point of my ramble being if you do STOP! I did it and managed to lose 4 snaps off seperate nappies in 2 weeks, and they totally ripped the fabric coming out too! We were on the look out for another night nappy as can't manage with just two in winter with the washing taking forever to dry, so just went to order a Bitti Boo (with DH's blessing ) and they're all out of stock! NOOOO!

Rach, we use normal ittis at night but line up 3 boosters in it... I'll post the pics as to how we do it, they work pretty well and if you chucked a cover over top, which you have to do with Bitti Boos anyways it would be even more effective.
The third booster doesn't snap on as such just sits underneath but it works really well, you have a very heavy nappy in the morning but no leaks!

I have a heap. I've found once they get bigger ie bigger bladder they are handy to extend the time on. Plus with a boy they are great for AIO's. I'm now coming around to the idea of the microfibre to soak the wee up fast.
I'm going to give it to my SIL but want to wait til she's had her scan at 12 weeks to make sure that everything is all hunky dory. She's had no morning sickness <B........h >

Ok Im new to Itti's- tried Aiden in alarge today with a booster in, in leaked right through the nappy, not out the top or legs, but seemed to leak through it. What did I do wrong?
I thought they would be higher in the rise too- I was gonna stop putting him in his small fuzzis and honeychilds cos I thought they were getting too low in the rise, but the lagre itiis are the same size in the rise.

They're not the bitti boos that need covers are they?
I've just order 6 microfibre and 6 bamboo boosters and already have one. I think we need to use them lots as we got lots of leaks. Though I think we might be in between snaps in the SIOs too. But the AIOs seem like a perfect fit.
I just ordered my boosters and a bitti boo at the same time and it said it was shipped today so maybe they've come in - unless it's just the boosters on the way.

I have a question
itti d'lish are so gorgeous and seem like all you would need, waterproof etc.
So why would one buy a bitti boo? it doesnt seem to have any of the features that id consider important, but im sure they have a role to play.
Thanks

Liz, I'm trying to work out how you've folded them?
Mrsmc you need a cover with the Boo's though. But they are trim plus the super absorbancy for overnight.

I accidently put a Large on my boy in the weekend (was my CC's one) Far out just a wee bit large & I reckon if he walked in it he would have had wing droop to his knees....definitely not going up to L's for a long while yet.

Ah I can see how she has folded them, the same way I do once they are dirty.... kind of like you would a disposable. The bottom is rolled over twice I think and then the wings are just attached to each other not the snaps on the middle of the nappy, if that makes sense. At least I think thats what she has done.
I missed my ittis we went on holiday and had to use disposables. I am so glad we chose to do mcns

Ohhh....I get ya! I don't do that when they are dirty LOL I just cross them over really tight. Might have to try that when I use the wet bag next.
Bex, I'm dreading our holiday in Sept for that reason! It will be easier using sposies but will be weird LOL I need shopping space so won't be taking them

AandCsmum, if yours are really worn already, would you consider them a good buy? I thought I would use cloth because of the savings but after stalking here for so long it would seem that the number of nappies people buy probably nearly makes it more expensive. I hear the argument that you're set up for additional children but if yours are well worn from one child would it be realistic to expect them to last for another one or two children?
If anyone has any comments on if they actually think there is a cost saving I'd be appreciative.
thx

Oh yes definitely...They are still going strong, they are not as plush as the newer ones I've got but then again they've been sat on a fair bit . I only had basically enough to cover one day & night for over 6 months so these all had daily use. I also didn't hang them properly to save elastic stretch. He's been in meds since Sept last year. I had 8 smalls which I paid less than RR($240ish) for & then I on sold them for $115 (mix of new & 2nd hand) I replaced those 8 with another 8, again mix new(mostly)/old. It's only recently that I've bought a few new ones in the fancy prints.
If you used a dryer they'd be almost like new.
Also you need to look at how much disposables cost over one childs life & how much you spend on MCN's they are definitely a saving.
I think I've spent all up around $700?? I think that is including my on selling. Looking at Pams at $7.00 a packet & all the nappy creams I would have been using plus nappy wipes I reckon I would have spent far more. My boy is a super wee'er & disposables give him nappy rash. So for me apart from not spending $10-15 each shop on nappies it's more to do with his skin. I don't use disposables over night & If we go away we use cloth, hense my dilemma about going away to Oz for 2 weeks as his skin will suffer.
So if you are sensible & don't go buying nappies left, right & centre then for sure they are definitely a cost saving.

I saw somewhere that you should hang them by their tabs & then the insert (AIO) so back tab, front tab & insert. So they go sideways along the line. I used to hang them from just the front hanging down so the weight of the wet insert was dragging on the elastic.
I used to hang the SIO's with the insert on them but now I detach.

Thanks for that, I always thought it should be cheaper but then it seemed like people were always buying new nappies and I would wonder how much money they would be spending on them. I guess the key is not to get caught up in the latest 'craze' nappy.
Thanks for taking the time to respond!

There are a few more hints on Itti Bitti facebook today.
Don't spin them so fast & they will be fluffier, downside I reckon they'll take longer to dry.
Front loading up the water level cause the nappies soak up a fair bit. I have got around this by doing the prewash function on mine.
Also a friend of mine reckons to snap up the AIO's with the tongue hanging out to retain elastic.
