Has anyone heard of Vitamin D helping with PND? I was talking to my aunt tonight and someone told her that some they know had almost immediate positive results with Vit D. Just wondering about it as an alternative or in addition to Anti Ds

I read an article in The Press a few weeks back about Vitamin D and the benefits of it. I have a shocking memory but it definately said something about raising your serotonin levels if you get the recommended daily dose of vit. D, and that was whether you went out in the sunshine (a bit hard at the moment), in your food or via tablets.
Maybe it's worth researching or discussing with a doctor?

I have heard that B vitamins (or lack of) are linked to depression. My MW put me on Vit B supplements when I was borderline PND and they seemed to help.

Vit D is important.... Have you heard of SAD? Seasonal Affective (?) Disorder?? Its lack of Vit D, due to lack of sun exposure during long winters or seasons of bad weather. Symptoms are the name- makes you feel sad all the time...

Magnesium and Calcium (both important together) are very good too.. They also help with anxiety, and restful sleep... often associated with depression....

I hate taking pills. If if if I had to choose one Id get a magnesium, calcium combo (1 pill) and get out in the sun more (I dont know where Id find that- perhaps a sunbed!! lol).
I know B vits are also beneficial but I cant take them- they make me feel ill.

Im talking here from experience myself, Im no doc. I notice a massive difference when I take magnesium... everyone is different.
