Oooh yay our own thread!
I am due March 3rd with our first baby.
So far have been hit with EXTREME tiredness and constant nausea but no actual vomiting... lucky I hear it's all worth it in the end
-------------
|
Posted By: Babykatnz
Date Posted: 04 July 2010 at 4:19pm
Not excessively tired here, but have insanely sore boobs!! Only get the occasional wave of mild nausea to remind me i havent eaten yet, but otherwise feeling great... I know that remark is going to swing round and bite me on my backside soon enough, but I'll enjoy the 'easy' part while i can!
MrsFord, are you going to find out what bubs is, or have you not decided yet?
------------- Brandon - 05/12/2003

Oh yes insanely sore boobs too, how could I forget? I have to remind DH to be gentle when he hugs me.
I want to find out but DH really doesn't so not sure how to get around that one... he says it's fine for me to find out as long as I don't tell him but I don't see how that will work when he wants to see what things I have purchased and they happen to be either pink or blue.
I suck at keeping secrets, I can't even hide what I have gotten him for his birthday or Christmas, I always spoil it! Also baby showers are much easier if your friends know what you are having! I just don't understand not wanting to know, it's a surprise at 20 weeks as much as at 40 weeks only you don't have to wait as long haha
-------------
|
Posted By: Babykatnz

It gives you something to look forward to and breaks the big wait for baby into less of a wait... and you can think of baby by name rather than 'it' all the time too
We found out with both my 2 so far, and will for this one too, means I can either get clothes, or 'borrow' from the right people in bits and pieces lol!

Babykatnz I totally agree, hopefully he will change his mind when we go in for that scan. I am finding out anyway and I will just have to deal with the consequences when I accidentally let it slip to DH. We both think baby will be a girl though.
MW sent the forms for a blood test and dating scan last week so I will brave the blood test tomorrow and book in for a scan.
I didn't think we would have to get a dating scan given that I know exactly when my last period started but she said it was best to check it so we know for sure and I am happy to have it confirmed to me because even though I am suffering symptoms it still feels very surreal!

mrsford wouldnt it be cool if your baby was born on your wedding anniversary also? a doubly happy day to celebrate!!
i'm feeling sick before meals and during meals and after at the moment! but its not stopping me eating like a horse.. i'm finding certain smells set me off to feel very seedy though now.. walked past the sushi place today and was gagging.. my partner thought it was hilarious..
hope everyone had a wonderful weekend of growing babies!

Oh my goodness Marengo I am just the same, feel crook all the time but still eating more than I would normally. I hope that's normal I really don't want to gain too much!
Bit mean of your DP to find it so funny! My DH has found he has had a bigger appetite lately, I think he may end up with a baby belly too!
Our due date is pretty special for a few reasons, DHs grandmother passed away 2 days before our wedding day so EDD is exactly a year since her passing. Both DH and I feel like she helped make our wedding day perfect and she is looking after our wee one. Also being so close to our first anniversary is so great, we are really excited though I don't know if I want to share MY day with the baby or in the hospital in pain!!!(selfish much LOL)
MW said most first babies are late so will likely be spending our anniversary grumpy and over it feeling like a whale, sounds like fun!!
Seriously though I don't care how or when it happens, just hoping all goes smoothly and baby is healthy.

hehe.. i cant wait to be a grumpy whale.. im thinking summer wont be that pleasant for us march ladies as it will be rather hot in feb and we will all be rather large at that stage..
oh well.. hopefully the summer dress styles will be kind to us!
mrsford march will have a lot of meaning to you in general then :) our first baby (an angel baby) was conceived on the same date that this one is due so has some significance to me also :) kinda neat when you think about it..
babykatz must be good to have that particular date to look forward to! you already know when babys birthday is :) cool

Maxi dresses are great for summer and pregnancy!! not that I can get away with wearing them, only one I could find that would fit me looked like a freaking tent! And cost a lot of $ to add insult to injury! (Wild Child range at farmers goes from a size 16/18+) I'm hoping I get some Farmers or Westfield vouchers from family for Xmas or birthday (in Dec) to go buy me one! Got vouchers last xmas or birthday and looked at getting one, but got a couple of tops and a skirt in the boxing day sales insetad!
Been looking at the clothes i got back off a friend (just in time too lol!) and theres a couple of tops that will fit up until about Jan, but if I am close to the size I got to (bump-wise) with Jae, they wont fit right at the end! hoooopefully the belly bands will do the trick for the last few weeks!

for those who already have... or eventually get bad MS..... banana/fruit smoothies. (calcium, fruit/vitamins, you dont need to chew, they fill you up, you can have them lying down if you buy bendy straws and if the worst happens and it comes back up... its easy lol) omg i cant believe when you ladies are having babies ill be throwing a 1st bday party (stop scaring me! lol)

oh yum banana smoothies!! i had the worst banana milk cravings my last pregnancy, and it has sort of started again with me having pangs of wanting banana milk, but i drank litres of the stuff last time and i know its full of sugar so probably should avoid it (so that i can keep eating chocolate heh)

Exactly what my midwife said to me. She had leave planned over the time I was due (I knew this from the beginning but went with her as she is a friend of a family member) I was adamant that he would not be late. She arranged to come back the day after his due date and he was born the day before his due date

We will definitely find out. We found out with Harper and for us it was really nice to call him by his name and buy him his little boy things. And I agree, it's a surprise at 20 weeks when you find out as it is at 40 weeks. The only way it wouldn't be a surprise is if you could choose to have a boy or a girl baby.
We're not telling any family or friends yet. DH has 'forbid' it. Yeah, yeah tough guy, I give you a week!!
We have a party to go to on Saturday so will need to come up with an excuse for that. The person hosting the party doesn't keep secrets very well. Not in a malicious way, just likes to talk.

Well, had dating scan, estimated at 2nd March but the lady said the 12 week scan would be better to tell as it is really still a little too early. I don't really mind as long as it isn't born on the 1st ( my bday ) or the 16th ( DS's ). Lol

Hi ladies
Just had a + HPT yesterday so I'll be joining you on the journey to March.
I recently had a MC and DP and I both wanted to TTC straight away. We were very lucky in that we did but I haven't had an AF since my MC so no idea of dates (and am hoping that this one sticks). But I'm guessing it will be due around 12-17 March. And yes both DP and I want to find out what it will be but thinking pink, also thinking twins! Not sure why I'm thinking the last but DP's hoping it's just one.

lol Bexta, DP and i 'agreed' that we'd wait til after the 1st scan at least before we tell anyone (forum budies dont count lol!) but within 48 hours, ALL his friends knew!! I'm still sticking to the first scan rule as i have been burend by mc before, so dont want to have to go around all my firends and amend the news if the worst happens!
Bexta congrats, I'll put you down as 12th and you can change it if a scan gives you a different date?

Did another test today (quickstream) and its exactly the same as the one I did 3 days ago... I would have thought it'd be signifiicantly darker after that long right?!?!
Got an appt with my GP tomorrow, and rang my midwifes clinic and turns out shes on leave and due back tomorrow, so they said to ring her direct (still have her work cell # from Jae) on Wednesday and talk to her about whether she'll take me on or not.
Still have the insanely sore boobs... but not much else happening!

Not many symptoms here either, tired, but busy weekend so think i'd be tired anyway.
Felt crazy sick earlier, but that passed.
Sore and big boobs - already, which is a bit scary, I had really nasty cramps this morning too.
Am hoping to get a midwife sorted this week, thats my goal.
Bexta, are you having twins, or just think you might be?????

BK - I wouldn't worry too much about the line not getting darker on the quickstream - they quite insensitive compared to the FR! and hcg levels can fluff around a bit in the early days I'm sure a FR will give you lovely lines now!

Babykatnz I feel your pain, I hate needles! I had my bloods done yesterday and dating scan tomorrow morning.
Feeling absolutely crappy this morning, DH made me toast in bed which was so sweet but other than showering I have barely moved for fear of actually being sick. Silly because I have yet to actually throw up just feel yucky all day.
First MW appointment Monday 12th, pretty exciting, she sounds lovely on the phone and has been very quick to get on to bloods and scan etc so I feel pretty happy with her.
I am tempted to take another HPT to see my line get darker as I was only 3 weeks 3 days when I found out and lines were quite faint but I'll wait to see what they say tomorrow.

MrsFord I'm with you feeling crappy today! I caught a cold on the weekend and wasn't too bad up until today. Had a rough night last night as I couldn't breathe with a blocked nose and had to get up twice to pee. Got up this morning to have a shower to make myself better and was sick, haven't been able to keep anything down and have been sick another two times. Not sure if that's morning sickness or the cold or a combination.
I've read so much conflicting info on the web about what you can/can't take when you're pregnant so I'm not taking anything but i want to - mainly a decongestant for my nose. AAARGH I hate being sick...

good ol first response :) they have never let me down either! i did a test sunday and it was really strong, it took 3 mins for the positive line to get darker then the control! i'm glad i did lots of tests to see the hcg levels increasing..
i feel quite relaxed about this pregnancy now.. after being terrified for the last couple weeks i feel a bit better now.. not so obsessively checking my undies,.. had my first bloods today also so looking forward to the results, i hate needles to but the lady i had today was incredible! normally they are painful for me but it was just a tiny prick then all over.. amazing!
looking forward to comparing everyones results also! i'm going to get my first scan at 7 weeks on the 24th i think, though my midwife did give me two forms if i wanted to get another one.. not too sure yet! i still cant believe its all real..

I'm going to have to wait at least a couple of weeks to have a scan, dont really want to take DS with me, last thing I need is for him to go blabbing to his dad/grandparents that theres another baby coming just yet! So we are going to try and keep it on the downlow for a few more weeks, but scan will have to wait til school goes back! Need to see if my GP will give me scan referral before I book anything, or if the midwife I had last time will take me on (shes awesome with scans, she'll give me a form whenever I think I need one!)

I think my EDD date is wrong, every site I go to that does a calulation comes out with a different date, its march thats for sure.
Called a midwife today left a message hope to hear back soon.
Welcome Cherub what fantastic news.
Are you supposed to see your Dr when you get pregnant???

Oh DP knows, I told him last wednesday (wrapped up a little AIO suit, the tests in the little packet they come in, and gave it to him as an early birthday pressy, his actual birthday is today!), and by Friday all his friends knew (so much for keeping it quiet til after the scan as we'd agreed!) but DS has a different dad to Jae and this one
You dont need to see your GP, but I had a large amount of blood loss when i had Jae, so i need to keep a check on my iron levels, my midwife is on leave, so my GP will do that for me til I sort out a midwife

I think I will fall into March but not sure yet, haven't had a dating scan, but guessing I am 6 -8 weeks. Nausea is terrible in the late afternoon early evening, but no actual throwing up yet.
We are definitely going to find out, and are both hoping for a boy!

Welcome to all the new March mummies!!
My DH couldn't wait any longer and had to tell someone we were expecting again, so he rung his family last night. I was hoping we could hold off for another week or two but no such luck. DS is very excited to be getting another brother or sister but not so excited about having to move into the small room. I tried to soften the blow by pointing out how Ella would have to share and that might not be so much fun and at least he gets a room all to himself. I think I managed to convince him. Either way he doesn't get a choice.
Its been a miserable day in Napier today but a good excuse to blob on the couch and do nothing. Have been very tired and the nausea comes and goes in waves.

The counting down ones? I got mine from www.lilypie.com just fill in the details as you go, then once you have your ticker, copy the BBCode option, and paste into your signature box (up the top right of the page on here is a purple link that says profile, click on that and further down the page is an empty box where you can paste that code in, just before you save, make sure you check a box just below that says something like 'attach signature to every post'
hope that helps!
ETA I am such a ninny!! I completely forgot about my doctors appt today!! Was supposed to be there at 4.15, and only just remembered now, an hour too late! Just as well I got that nice dark bfp this morning or I'd have been almost in tears!!

Thanks hun. I had stopped charting becuase I hadn't had my period in 4 months due to PCOS so we decided to take a more casual approach after my last period a few weeks ago. Looks like it paid off :) As soon as we stopped thinking about it, it happened lol. I only just found out today. Hubby is in Auckland on business so he doesn't know yet but he gets back around 8pm tonight :) Yay he's going to be so excited

Congrats to all the new ladies! Yay for March what an exciting month
BK thats a super fantastic result on FR, I LOVED them my last pregnancy, would do some randonly to see how quickly the test line would come up hope your feeling more relaxed about things now
Sorry to hear so many of you are getting nausea already! I have only had a couple of bouts so hopefully it will stay away for a teeny bit longer.
Had confirmed by bloods yesterday so pretty stoked, levels were really good. rang my midwife that I had last time, she was so stoked! Said she wants to meet with us this week to talk about a plan – regular bloods and scans to get a glimpse of how things are going (if they had done regular bloods last time they would have realised RJ wasnt growing) so am happy with that. Going to Noosa on the 17th for 11 nights which will be awesome, it will waste some time and will be 7 ˝ weeks when we get back ready for our first scan

That's great that your midwife is so on to it Jen :) Gosh I haven't even thought about a midwife! I'll have to find a new one becuase my last was hopeless :(
There's so much to think about! I had shocking morning sickness with the twins. Fingers crossed it's not so bad this time. I'm not feeling anything yet but it's very early days.

Ugh a really icky day for me felt sick on and off all day. I am having crumble and custard for tea - yay its all I fancy and we just happened to have some.
DS was being a pain tonight this is not normal for him he was last night too, think he's either coming down with something or teething, normally he asks to go to bed, last two nights he has freaked out, too tired to cope with it, the tiredness this time round is painfully bad.

Dammit... been hanging out for this salmon fillet I bought in the groceries today... cooked it perfectly... took one bite and have felt disgusting ever since... need something to get that taste out of my mouth but cant think of anything to make for one person! DP is at the movies, and Jae is down for the night... so its just me, myself and the telly tonight... might make one of those microwave choc mug cakes, and see if that makes me feel better
