Vacuuming in our house used to be a 2 person job: one to do the actual vacuuming, and one to be at the other end of the house comforting the screaming mess that Josiah had become.

Gradually, things got better to where we could hold him and vacuum at the same time... but if we put him down disaster would strike! Once he started walking it was even better because he would keep himself out of the way... and over the last 6 weeks he has got braver and braver, until he could cope if we happened to be in the same room (but he'd still leave quickly! )

Today, my very brave 15mth dear boy sat down and had a "chat" with the base unit of the switched on vaccum cleaner, then helped me push it around the lounge! I actually had to keep moving him out of my way! Yay!!!

Jake is enjoying the vaccuum too. i talk constantly about what "fun" it is......train him for housework. I plan to have an army of children to do my bidding - much like flying monkeys but cuter.

lol Liz. I was working on that for the cup of tea thing but all Hannah can manage at the moment is putting the teabag in the cup. (And I have to open the tin first). Things are not quite going as I planned.

And cute about the vacuum cleaner!! Han gets a huge fright when it turns on but is generally ok. Except when Gaz chases her with it. I will blame him for her psychological problems later in life.

I have my children quite well trained:

When changing Josiah's nappy he lifts his bum up on command ("Lift up!"), usually lies there until I tell him we are done ("All finished!"), then passes me the nappy bag to put the dirty nappy into, and once I've tied it up he takes the bag and put it into the bin!

He also "tells" us when he's ready for bed - "nun-nun-nun-nigh" and gets his dummy and his monkey.

When Kiya was in night naps only, she would get up in the morning, take the nappy off and get dressed, then roll up the nappy and put it into the bin!

OMG You are the baby whisperer!!!! Can I employ you???

Han rolls over and tries to escape as soon as I lie her down to change her and lately has found it really funny to clamp her legs together so I can't get a nappy on her! Arghhh!
