DD was a very spilly baby and after 5 months of me discussing this with GP/PN and everyone in between (and being given the brush off when I suggested reflux) she was put on Losec. Its done her the world of difference. Shes a completely different baby - stopped spilling as much immediately, is a lot less tense and much happier all round.
She has quite a husky voice, which doesnt bother me, but a friend suggested maybe I should get it checked out just in case her untreated reflux has caused any damage to her throat or vocal chords.
Wondering if anyone has had this happen and what your thoughts are?
Thanks

How long has she been on Losec? Might be that there is healing still to be done?

My wee boy was on and off Losec and other meds due to reflux and a dairy allergy. Finally got everything sorted by 9 months but it tool about 3-4 months for his voice to not sound like he had smoked 100 smokes ;-)

DS1 had a husky voice on and off for his first year, depending on how bad his reflux was. It would normally take a week to come right again, after we got his reflux back under control.
If the reflux has been ok for a while on losec and her voice is still husky, I think it would be worth checking out with a dr. However, make sure your GP, or who you take her to see, knows a fair bit about reflux. I found that I had to change GP's with DS, as his original GP didn't know much about reflux at all, and was not particularly helpful to any matters relating to the condition.

DS didnt have reflux, but was quite spilly and also has a huge list of allergies. His little voice is also very husky (sounds cute!) but Im not sure what that is related to. He has recently had croup so that might have something to do with it.

Thanks for your responses.
Shes been on Losec since about 5 months and she is 8 1/2 months at the moment (so 3 1/2 months of Losec).
Its hard to tell but I do think shes not as husky as she once was. I think I might give the meds a while longer and if she still has a significant huskiness, ill take her back to my GP. We are also reassessing her meds etc at about 10-11 months so I might just bring it up then anyway.
Thanks again
