Egg Donor Needed
My journey to become a Mum has been a long and hard road.
3 IVF cycles produced a gorgeous baby boy who was stillborn at term and a beautiful little girl who arrived too early to survive. The nursery is silent and the toys remain unused.
3 more IVF cycles have been unsuccessful, so I now need an egg donor.
I am single and have much love to give. My family is large and supportive and I have some wonderful friends who stand beside me.
If you are a healthy, non smoking woman, 20 – 37, who has preferably completed your own family and would like to help me become a “Mum” I would be forever grateful.
Please contact in confidence Angela on 09 475 0310 or email fas@fertilityassociates.co.nz , quoting reference: Forever Grateful

Hi
Does anyone have any suggestions where I could place this listing for an egg donor. I'm trying to find places where potential egg donors will see it. So any thoughts will will be really appreciated - thanks :-)

Hi,
You could also try registering with www.nz-surrogacy.com, as there are egg donors on that site also.
Best of luck

Hi
I've recently put some flyers around so who knows you might see my advert out there. It was a positive experience even when they couldn't display it. Most people seem to be understanding and that was encouraging.

Yea, I'd love to help someone in your situation one day when we've finished our family. Although, don't know if someone with PCOS (which I have) would be accepted as an egg donor? I should look into that.

Just wondering. Does anyone know if having depression in the past would effect the possibility of becoming an egg donor, if I am otherwise healthy and I tick all the other boxes?

I have had depression 3 yrs ago - termed reactive depression. 3-4/10 NZ people do at some stage and this no. is growing. My doctor explained to me that depression for many was fixable with life changes and needing medication was like a diabetic needing insulin and better life choices. I don''t think this should factor in if the recipient was happy. I changed things in my life and went off medication after 14 months and have never looked back. SO go for it escadachic

Hi
escadachic - thank-you so much for showing an interest. I'm sure Angela at my clinic would be happy to answer any questions you had.
MAC35 - I appreciate your sharing this information with us. I have heard of this good book called "The Depression Cure" by Stephen Ilardi. Its focus seems to be on life issues - sleep, Omega 3, positive thoughts , sunshine. Can't remember the other ones at this stage.
My journey, as I know others of you will understand is definitely stressful. I am trying to find ways of reducing the stress - have taken up Tai Chi and find this to be helpful, would definitely recommend it.
Once again thank-you for taking an interest.

Hi,
I was wondering if you had considered going overseas to find a donor. Prices in the Czech Republic seem quite competitive - and I seem to remember on one of the websites I looked at (not sure which one), that the waiting period could be as little as 3 months...
http://www.czechivf.com/donor-egg-and-embryo
http://www.crmzlin.cz/en/page/1726.oocyte-egg-sperm-donation/
Just a thought... we are also at the point of considering DE after 2 IVF cycles with my own eggs.

Hi SweetP
Thanks for the information on Czech Republic. At this stage my prefered option is to find a donor in NZ.
3 months is a short waiting period.
Wishing you all the best for the future.

Egg Donor Needed - Update
Hi
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has shown an interest in my advert.
I'm pleased to tell you that I have now found / been found by an amazing woman who is going to be my egg donor.
Whatever the outcome is I know that I will be forever grateful for the opportunity she is giving me.
I hope by reading my advert that there may be others who have started to think about egg donation.
There are a number of us women here in New Zealand who need help to become Mums.
Wishing others like me all the best for finding a donor.
Take care

Hi everyone I have just joined this site. My husband and I have been TTC #1 for well it will be 7 years in Dec. I have tried IVF twice and it did not work. I fell pregnant naturally 4 years ago but miscarried at 12 weeks. I have tried acupuncture, tried Brad Crouch on the Northshore of Auckland, been to a herbalist tried everything and now we are looking for an egg donor as well. Not sure where to start on that really....but will be my mission for next few months.

Hi
It is with much joy and relief that I can give an update to this thread.
My little girl was born early at 35 wks 4 days. She is small, has a good set of lungs on her and is doing well.
I've had wonderful support thru out the pregnancy and after the birth. The journey has been a long rocky one but to hear her cry when she was born was the most wonderful sound of all.
I will be forever grateful to my lovely donor who gave me a very precious gift. I hope that others may also find NZ donors.
All the best to those walking a similar journey, stay strong and hold on to hope.

I know this post is a bit old but after having a little one of my own and seeing the joy raising a happy healthy baby girl has brought to my life I have decided I would like to help others on their journey. If anyone has any information on becoming a donor please fill me in. I am very interested. I am 23, non smoker with one healthy child.
Thanks. And good luck to you all.

Hi Jessica. That is such a wonderful thing to consider doing. What sort of information are you looking for at this stage? I am just entering my first IVF round, so I don't know too much about the donation process. You could give your local fertility clinic a call, and I'm sure that they would have someone available to have a bit of a talk with you about the process, or you could have a look on the fertility associates website. Also, there is a thread on the everybody communities website about egg donation. Some of the ladies on there might be able to answer your questions.
