I'm after some recommendations for the throwaway liners you can put in cloth nappies.
My DD has developed a pretty awful sore bottom after getting chicken pox recently and the doctors have prescribed an antibiotic cream to be covered with a layer of that awful zinc/castor oil barrier cream. I've been using microfleece liners but as this has been going on for nearly a month now, they are all pretty much rubbish now because they are getting gunked up with barrier cream; plus her secondary carer at daycare is not a cloth nappy fan (sigh) and isn't nearly careful enough to position the microfleece properly and some of her nappies are getting cream on too 
I'm sure using disposable liners would go down better with her, and I quite like the idea of using disposable liners with this cream and then replacing my microfleece ones, rather than ruining another whole lot of them. Anyway, my DD gets an awful bottom rash anytime she gets put in a sposy (never by me!), so I'm really nervous that a sposy liner will have the same affect and that's the last thing her poor little bottom needs. Any suggestions for really gentle liners? Please?! (and yes, we are doing our best to get in plenty of barebum time, but today she has diarrhoea in response to her 15-month jabs, so it's a nappy-on day!!) ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

Ive tried two different brands of flushable liners.. and the ones I have at the moment are super soft and gentle.
I got them off trademe http://www.trademe.co.nz/stores/mybaby Is the user However, i do notice that when I change her nappy it's often all squidged together somewhat, so i dont know if this would work well with cream. The previous ones i tried were the cherub tree liners, again no problems at all and were great, not as soft as these ones.. but they did stay the course more. We use flushable liners so that it's easy for daycare... It sucks that your center isnt cloth friendly! Don't use homebrand ones, the cream went straight through onto the nappy -------------

Yeah, we've tried a couple of natural creams, including pawpaw, but no luck. The antibiotic cream is doing the job, but I'd say it's at least another week away from fixed because there is a gaping hole that needs to heal. Will check out those two Kim, thanks  The centre is pretty good with cloth, and her main carer is awesome, but her backup carer, who usually only does her last change of the day, isn't quite such a fan. She does it, but her first suggestion any time there is a hint of a rash is "i think it's time for sposies" even though she's SEEN what they do to DD's bottom (they used to put her in a sposie for body painting etc but I stopped that because of the rash she'd get). But it does mean she doesn't put quite enough care into protecting the nappies from the generous quantities of cream she applies  ------------- http://lilypie.com"> http://lilypie.com">

Hey T_Rex I have the same issue with E. I reccomend trying to get some samples to try. Tot bots do a nice soft one but I didn't like them much as they seemed to distinegrate after a wee, you might be able to get a sample from them. Real nappies liners weren't nice either. I'm about to try the baby first ones so will let you know how that goes. You can get sample packs from Wobble in hamilton (they have a website too).

I LOVE Peapods Bamboo flushable liners. You can buy them online and from Baby Factory. They are super soft, don't leave fibres on bums when they get wet, contain poo well and don't seem to let cream through to the nappy. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

| Can't recomend any but just wanted to let you know that the baby cheeks ones gave my girl a horrible rash and I had to take her to the doctor. She has very sensitive skin too. |

T Rex, how annoying that woman sounds. 'time for sposies'? grrrr.
All the research I did in to flushable liners came up with two - the ones Nature Baby sell, which are the ones we use at the moment and they seem to be great and Bambino Mio liners from Scarecrow farm - but she is out of stock at the moment. never had any major problems with nappy rash with either of these. |

Kimnthekids, I think they may have changed them or I could be thinking of a different brand though in saying that! The baby first ones seem to be ok, although DC have been shocking at changing her so she is a bit red (Which is a whole other issue!). we had terrible issues with the mybaby flushable ones so sounds like all bubs may be different!! They turn to stringy stick cotton wool type fibres that stick like anything to Floyd's bum and give him a horrible rash. Yeah, I'm not too fussed about flushing - we are on septic tank, so won't flush anyway, and daycare can just put them in the nappy bin. Seems I might just have to try a few and see what works for her. At least the lastest cream seems to be clearing it up nicely, it's just such a big wound it's taking a while!

| We use the real nappy ones - $10 for 100 I think. They are the only ones we've tried so far as we aren't through one roll yet. They actually wash up fine too - so I generally do that if it's not a messy poo, or if its just a wee. |

My DD has super sensitive skin and I'm always battling bad nappy rash with her (the open bleeding welt type). Bambino mio were the only brand that didn't effect her

Oh thanks Ricker! We have the open bleeding welt type at the moment, although she's usually very good.
