Hi,just after some success stories hopefully!! I did my first IVF last month and have my day 14 blood test tomorrow.I decided to do a HPT this morning to prepare myself for what the result might be tomorrow. It was negative this morning,I can't see me getting a positive result tomorrow after this.has anyone done a negative HPT the day before and still got a positive BT??? I am absolutely devastated at the fact our first IVF was unsuccessful, from 8 fertilized eggs we only got one emby so have been praying this one works.maybe it's not meant to be and I'm not meant to be a mum??
I guess there's still a slight hope that I get good news tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath!

Awww... so sorry to hear that I'd say you'd be spot on with your assumption - probably bad news, but still some hope that your levels weren't quite high enough to show on a test. Particularly if it wasn't a very sensitive one??

I can't offer any success stories, sorry, but didn't want to read and run. I hope it works out for you soon.

Hey Tiffany you know how mine ended up I just hope yours is different. Which test did you do? They make a difference and apparantly there is only one test in NZ that can detect an HCG level of between 10 and 25.
Fingers crossed for you honey x

Good luck Tiff for today. Also you never know. Did you do another one this morning and see what it was. Over here in aussie we dont do the BT until 16 days after so the result could still be not enough to appear on a PT but enough on a BT.

Also if you havent had any symptoms of AF on its way this could be a good sign but sometimes the pecess or crinone can delays this.

Have nmy fingers crossed for you.

I did a HBT after my blood test was positive after IVF and the HBT showed as negative! After another 3 blood tests, I am still pregnant. I don't think you can rely on those home tests.
Best of luck xx

Well I have some news but I'm confused as hell!!! The nurse rang and said my hcg level is at 7 which is way too low at this stage, they like to see it at 50.so I have another blood test on Wednesday just in case.but what does this all mean? Am I having a miscarriage? Is there any chance this pregnancy is viable at all??? In my mind I feel like its not going to work and it now explains why I got a negative poas yesterday.

They must think there's a chance or they wouldn't be wanting to do another BT - but only a tiny chance. Must be hell waiting though

I found the info below here: http://www.babymed.com/hcg-level

hCG under 5 mIU/ml:   Negative. Not pregnant
hCG between 5-25 mIU/ml: "Equivocal". Maybe pregnant maybe not. Repeat test in a couple of days
hCG over 25 mIU/ml:You are pregnant!

Hey Tiff8ny,
I just went through the same thing. My HcG was 15 and I had to have another blood test which was 3 then another one which came down to zero.
I found it a very traumatic experience.
I didn't get my AF until after the last blood test, so about 8 days after 1st test. My AF was (and is, I am still going through it) very very heavy, painful and clotty.
We have now decided to take abreak, have some counselling and persue natural therapies for six months before trying ART again.
If you need to talk about it you can PM me anytime.

Thanks so much sharpie.I'm sorry for your loss too.it is so hard isn't it. After nearly 4 years of trying I really thought our first ivf cycle would give us a BFP.sadly wasn't meant to be.we have no frosties so now it's another wait till we can have our 2nd public funded cycle.I so hope that one works cause we really can't afford to go private. So far my AF has been a bit clotty but hasn't been too heavy yet as I'm still on the pessaries, but I expect it will get heavier. I hope my levels are back at 0 tomorrow so we can arrange an appointment with our FS to have our review appointment and hopefully get on the waiting list asap! Meanwhile I think we will try naturally and pray for a miracle.

Good luck for trying naturally, I wish you all the best and really hope it works this time for you. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with me xoxo

Yea think I might.the nurse told me to keep using them till blood test but it's kinda gross using them when you have AF.seems like torture when you know what the end result is already

Hi Tiff

When I got my chemical pregnancy think my levesl were 15 or so and then second blood test they had come down quite a bit.

With the pesessaries - is it cronine you are taking - one applicator one??? I know when I got AF that i couldnt use both at the same time - if you know what I mean.

I also think my AF was a bit clotty as well - I was doing a natural FET so wasnt taking any progest support.

Hi Tiff8ny

When I had chemical last FET my BT my level was low and I had to have 3 BT all up to monitor the levels. I really hoep for you that this is just late implant. I then got my period about 3 days after the initial BT. It seemed a bit heavier and clottier (sorry tmi). Fingers crossed and will wait in eager anticipation until tomorrrow.

Hi ladies,
So sorry to hear of your negative results and also the chemical pregnancies.. I had a chemical pregnancy as a result of my first round of IVF. Level was 26, went up to 34 and then crashed! I was also told to continue utrogestan until levels got to zero. The nurse did say at the time the more you bleed the better it is as a way to prepare your body for the following round, and it is also how all the drugs/chemicals etc leave your body.... I remember feeling alot better once the hormones became a little more balanced.... I just want to say please keep your heads up and stay positive! I was absoloutely devastated when I had a chemical pregnancy, and following that I had two embryos on ice that failed to thaw.... Awful times!! However the staff at the clinic new me a lot better for my second cycle - and my son from that is nearly one!!! Keep positive :)

Hi - thanks! No nothing different at all from the clinics perspective everything was exactly the same (other than a different embryologist) and I opted for heavy sedation. The first cycle I got 12 eggs and 2nd 6eggs so it was definitely quality not quantity for me! I changed a few things the second time around - I ate lots and lots of pineapple after transfer, didnt wear perfums etc, or do any heavy lifting after transfer and i did accupunture from when the injections started, an hour before egg collection, as close to embryo transfer as possible and straight after transfer.... Sure that this helped me!!! GOOD LUCK for your round number two.... I have just started the pill for round number 3!

Thanks for the info.I got 12 eggs too,8 fertilized but only one emby made it and we did a day 3 transfer with the one perfect emby.I did acupuncture too but I think next time I am really going to watch what I eat and try to eat pineapple etc to help implantation and not wear perfume.all the best for round 3,make sure you let me know how you get on xx

Just thought I would update you lovely ladies that supported me and gave me advice. My HCG levels started at 7 then 2 days later went to 15, then a few days later dropped back down to 6. So its a Chemical pregnancy for me for my IVF #1. Going to see FS for IVF review appointment on 6th May and hopefully get on the waiting list for IVF #2 in hopefully 6 months time. I just pray IVF #2 works!!!
Thanks all for your support xx
