Squiggle, did you get quite sick last time? I had pretty rough morning/day/night sickness from about 6 weeks......feeling queezy already though, urgh!
Welcome buddyblueeyes and congrats! It must be an exciting, but slightly scary time considering what you have already been through. Can't imagine how hard that must have been for you. I'll be crossing my fingers for you I'm sure everything will be totally fine.

Congrats buddyblueeyes! What an awful thing to have to go through with your first pregnancy. I too will keep my fingers crossed for you that this time round everything goes as planned.
Melopop I had morning sickness from 6 to 16 weeks and it was ALL DAY sickness which was awful. Thankfully I didn't actually throw up at any point but the nausea was just as bad. And yep I'm already starting to feel a bit icky but my toddler is teething at the mo so I'm getting bugger all sleep - which I'm sure isn't helping!

Thanks guys, how are you all feeling today... I had it rough last pregnancy as I was sooooo sick vomitting everything and sleeping all day, so far I have just been really tired and a bit weird about smells.
Have any of you started looking at baby gear etc? I am trying to stop myself but it is soo tempting lol.
I hope I can find some south island mums to meet up with if this bubba sticks.

Congrats to all who are currently due for Feb next year :) This time last year i was pregnant but didn't know it (due feb 18) and ended up having my wee man 5 weeks early.
Soo i did a test today because i have been getting sick in the mornings and all that and i got a positive. I have no idea how far i am along and gosh my little one is only 4 months..
We weren't trying and have been using contraception.. We said we would have another when this one was 2 years old.. So i haven't told him yet or anyone. (if anyone is on my facebook and manages to see this please dont mention it on there, thanks) I have no idea how he will react tonight when he gets home. Should i tell or wait??

Congrats to you all in here - my due date is either the 29th of Jan or 2nd Feb so I popped into the Jan thread.
I have been trying not to look at baby gear, it is REALLY tempting - I quite like the look of the natures sway hammocks for something different.

hello xtina, congrats :)
hmmmm I think I would get him a whisky or his favourite drink then tell him, thats how I did it with mine and seemed to work well.
also hi and congrats to brunettie 86, those hammocks look awesome, I cant stop looking at prams. I really want one of those old fashioned silver cross style ones but they look so impractical.

Congrats all, and wow xtina! That's exciting but a bit scary. Good luck with telling your DH...hope it goes ok. I guess you could wait a little if you feel like it? I remember getting negative initially with A so there can be glitches too. Probably fine though - and I'm sure it will all work out great when you've got used to the idea!
Agree that Feb babies are awesome

Hey all :) Went to the Farmers 50% off kids clothes sale today - got quite excited seeing all the teeny tiny newborn stuff. So sweet! There is no point buying stuff since I have so many hand me downs from my son - although if I find out this little cluster of cells is a girl, I'll be shopping up on the pink stuff
Xtina, congrats on the positive! I can imagine it might be a bit daunting the thought of 2 so close. I'm already wondering how the hell I'll cope with an active toddle and a newborn - but hey, if it doesn't kill you it will only make you stronger, right?! Do you think DP will be pleased - once he gets over his shock?

That is a good point for when we have bubs #2. I had thought that it would be good for a similar reason, we have a cat and a little poodle x maltese dog who love to jump up on things for a better look. They also look so comfy and don't appear to take up much room. Right think I have convinced myself we are getting one, I might keep an eye out for specials!

Congratulations xtina, that must have been a bit of a shock?!! Very exciting though Have you told your DH yet?
Shopping wise I'm the same as Melopop - I have so much stuff already from when I was pregnant the first time around, that unless this is a little girl, I won't need to buy anything else!
Hope you're all feeling well and have a great weekend. I'm trying to make the most of enjoying eating while I can before the morning sickness starts...which will be next week if it's the same as last time

Yes i have told him now, Very very shocked. Seeing the doctor on monday. Really need to find out how far i am.
He did say last night wouldnt it be good if we could find out whether its a girl or twins now so we could decide.. Sounds like he doesnt want it if its a boy?
|
Posted By: GenevieVe1234
Date Posted: 28 May 2011 at 4:11pm
awww! I was thinking perhaps he doesnt want it if its twins or a girl, so therefore he wants a boy?
My man was very shocked as well, kind of freaked out and was like ahhh we cant do this then first thing the next morning was like " I love you but if its a girl im shoving it back in" lol, which with his sense of humour means he is excited..now he is constantly doting on me. very cute.
I havent been feeling sick yet....
also have doctors on monday let me know how you go xtina.
p.s. thanks Anna

aww xtina - he probably needs a bit of time to get his head around it. How do YOU feel? Do you have much family support? There are lots of positives having them so close together. They will be into similar things, they will hopefully be great mates and play together, and I think while I'm used to being poor and sleep deprived I may as well get it all over and done with! All the best hun!
Cute you're being doted on BBE! I think the whole pregnancy thing is so different for males. It's not hapening to their bodies, therefore it seems to take them much longer to believe it's even happening. My DP isn't the type to get his hopes up and get excited until he is 'sure' everything is O.K. I don't think he really got excited (well really showed it)until the 20 week scan last time. This time he seems more relaxed and has even started talking about names. He told me to go and have a sleep today since I was growing a little person and all

My DH took a while to 'adjust' to the idea of me being pregnant...even though both times it has been planned! I'm sure once he has gotten over the shock Xtina he will be really happy. I know for me I would have found being pregnant again when my son was only 4 months old quite mind boggling - but that's mainly because he has reflux and was (and still is) really unsettled at night - even on medication. But like everyone has said, there will be lots of benefits of having them so close together. My friend had a really small age gap between her two kids (accidentally) and they are best of friends - it's so cute! I hope you're feeling ok about it?
I have started a list for us. Brunettie I wasn't sure if you wanted to be included as well?

Quite embarrassed to admit I'm wearing maternity jeans today I know it's rediculous, but anything tight on my tummy is making me feel seriously sick. Hope noone notices. I'm going to try and find a midwife early this time. Last time I mucked around and then it was so close to xmas I couldn't find one (DS was born on Christmas day <3 )I just saw a midwife at the hospital eacch week and the midwives on duty at the hospital delivered him. I liked being under the hospital system, but I think I want an independant midwife this time. It's so hard choosing one though!

I went to the doctors today and got the blood test form and bounty pregnancy pack. It seems so surreal that I'm pregnant again - especially at this stage where I don't have many symptoms. I'm looking forward to when this little jellybean is big enough for me to feel him or her moving around I also contacted my midwife that I used last time to let her know I'll be seeing her soon - this time around I'll just have an energetic toddler to take along to all the appointments!

Hope everyone is doing well in here... I am waiting for my blood results (that I got taken on Friday) to get to my MW so I can get some reassurance everything is ok.
Picked up a lesson, pattern and some wool & needles to attempt to start knitting - may be a bit of a joke but I will give it a go.
I am still super stoked that MIL said she will get us a phil & teds pram, DH's grandparents will get us a cot and then my parents said they will get something I pick to so they could get us the hammock - yesssss that is a saving just under $2,000 I suppose.
How is everyone feeling? I am a bit tired, still got tender boobs and have the odd slight pang of ickyness when I haven't eaten for a while. Gosh I can't wait to reach 12 weeks, the days are going by so slowly and I just want to reach the 'safe zone'.

I have a feeling this is going to be the longest 12 weeks of my life......I feel sooooo ill it's awful. No vomiting yet (touchwood) yet it feels like I'm about to 24/7. Poor DP, I'm gonna be a nightmare to live with
Glad things are on track Happy Gal! I totally forgot I have to get blood tests! Ops. I'm about to ring a midwife....She is local and I have done some research on the net and heard good things so fingers crossed. It's a bit of a lucky dip though....
Brunettie86 good luck with the knitting! Would love to learn how to knit one day.
Oh well, off to have a nap while my boy is down for his midday sleep....

MW just txt me - blood work looks great. No actual details but I am happy with them looking great.
I think it will drag on too. It is a bit rubbish you are already so feeling ill Melopop, hopefully it passes sooner rather than later. I have only had the odd pang of icky ill feeling spells (nothing major that a couple of crackers won't fix) but OMG my boobs got so much more tender overnight - I am super stoked I got fitted for bras a few weeks ago, would have been even worse if not (I ended up being 2 cup sizes bigger than I was wearing - may be interesting getting feeding bras when I am already an 8F).
Gosh it is scary hearing about the miscarriages in the due Jan thread - must be so awful! I just want to get passed this 'risky' stage.

Brunettie86 - go you with the knitting girl!! I am with you there on the tiredness, I am feeling so tired, finished work early today... Was feeling abit queazy today too... So does MS kick in about 6 weeks?
Where abouts does everyone live? I'm in Auckland... Wonder if we will get more Feb Mums to join us!

Yeah I was feeling icky today too and a bit light headed. I just keep telling myself that it's all good signs of things going well!
Brunettie that's great about the baby gifts, it all helps aye?! There's certainly a lot to buy first time around. I regret not getting a comfy feeding chair for my DS - I spent many nights in his room feeding him while I sat on the floor! It was nice for the first few months when he slept in our room as I just used to feed him in our bed - which was great considering it was winter!
Sorry to hear you're feeling so bad Melopop - maybe you're pregnant with twins?!! I'm sure once you meet the midwife you will know whether she is the right one for you. I changed from my initial one when I was pregnant first time around as I didn't really connect with her. My second midwife (and the one I'm using this time around) is great though.
For me Happygal the sickness really kicked in at 6 weeks but I guess everyone and every pregnancy is different so who knows this time around?! I'm hoping it won't get any worse than what it is now...but I think that will just be wishful thinking, lol. I live on the Shore in Auckland.

Congrats Vicki B!!!!! All the best for a little sticky one this time.
I live about 1h 15m from Dunedin (on a farm, DH is a sheep farmer). It is a bit sucky as I probably won't have any preggy friends to meet up with as it is a bit of a mission. None of my friends (well close friends) have bubbas yet so I am glad I have Oh Baby!
I have started feeling a bit light headed and a bit giddy too, a wee bit queazy but not to bad. Can't get over how tender my poor boobies are. I am dreading having to find bigger bras - these new 8F's are already getting tight! I have been drinking lemon nd ginger tea (not sure if it is helping but if I think it is, it just might hehe).
Go the sickie Happygal... I finish work tomorrow so am looking forward to some nap time next week! I just hope I can find another job before I have to tell them I am pregnant - a second income would be quite good up until baby arrives. There aren't to many opportunities down here for an office girl - guess that is what happens when a city girl goes rural and there are no big towns nearby.

Hello,
I have been reading posts and decided to join.
We had a positive test 1 week ago today - this will be our first.. Went to doc and had all bloods, which have all come back great! EDD 1st Feb 2012 so I am 5 weeks and 1 day.
Only symptoms so far are sore breasts.

Hey team,
I'm Kelly. This is my fourth pregnancy, all the others didn't go well. Trying not to get my hopes up but here I am anyway!
I'm at 5weeks, had a scan today. Which puts me at a due date of about 2nd Feb.

Congrats to all the Feb mummy's to be
kelzie_rose I hope your wee one stays put & you get a gorgeous baby in 8 months time.
I have had 3 m/c's too & have 1 beautiful son & a little girl on the way.
With my son & this pregnancy I had m/c's a month or two before conceiving them, the Dr reckons that getting UTD again so quickly might have helped my body be more prepared for a keeper, I hope the same thing happens for you. Will keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks TM, this time was certainly a surprise! I had been put on a course of Provera to bring on my next cycle (I had taken two pregnancy tests to make sure I wasn't pregnant before starting them!) so that I could start on tests to figure out what's going wrong and suddenly, I'm pregnant!
You've made me more hopeful. Thank you :)

I have added my details in - I don't really know if I am due on the 29th or Jan or 2nd feb so I have been a forum skank and am in both the Jan & Feb due threads. I will know after my scan on the 23rd June... gosh the countdown is taking ages so far.
Have a good Friday and long weekend ladies.... this is my last day of work so I get a really long weekend until I find a new job.
Edited because apparently I was getting my scan done before I was even pregnant!

I had it really bad before I found out I was pregnant and was taking quickeeze. Not sure if they are ok to take while UTD.
I'm having ridiculously bad morning sickness, all day long!
And after my first progesterone pessary, I'm feeling pretty... Gross.

Hmmm might pop to the chemist instead of the supermarket just to be safe.
Oh you poor thing - my MW said yesterday that it just means there are lots of good baby hormones flowing.
I haven't had it bad at all myself yet though - found my one coffee in the morning yesterday made me a bit icky feeling so I stopped having coffee. I'm sticking to peppermint tea.

oooooh! Things have got busy in here Welcome to all the new feb mums to be! Such exciting news for you all. OMG, I seriously don't know how I'm gonna cope with this ALL.DAY.LONG sickness I know it's a good sign, and that I shouldn't moan, but I feel sooooo sick My poor wee toddler is probably wondering where the hell is fun happy mummy has gone.
Enough of my dramatics
Loving the spreadsheet! Will add details shortly. Hope you are all having a good day. Thank goodness DP is home today so I'm getting a bit of a break and have had a big nap. It's freezing today. I'm in Mangere Bridge Auckland.
Haven't eaten much today, cause nothing seems to be what I want. (I want McDonalds or a pie lol) everything just seems to be grossing me out. Eating does help the sickness though - yip, Kelzie_Rose, I'll be huge too!

Just a note: The lady in the chemist said Gaviscon liquid is the favourite with preggy ladies for indigestion/heartburn. I got a massive bottle of it! It is way nicer than tabs because it isn't froffy and chalky.

B86 - thanks for that about Gaviscon. Heartburn is awful! I'm such a baby and hate taking medicine (guess I better harden up if I plan to give birth in 8 months )
edie, last time my MS didn't kick in intil about 6 weeks, this time it is extra early. Some people are lucky and don't get it at all. You might be one of them, or itt might kick in soon. Enjoy feeling good!
I have REALLY bad skin at the moment - it's like my hormones are going nuts. Apparently Blackmores do a morning sickness tablet with lots of ginger and other stuff in it. I'm on the hunt for it today and I'll report back

DH and I are going out shopping soon, need to get more Elevit, think Amcal do 100's for $75... I also think I need a suppport bra!! lol...

Welcome vixgirl and troutpout! Look forward to getting to know you
Kelz_R you poor thing! I have all day sickness but no vomiting (touch wood). Hope you are getting a bit of a rest over the weekend.
HappyGal, I was going to get some yesterday, but did I google search of reviews and didn't sound very convincing, plus the tablets are apparently quite big (which I hate) and you have to take 3 a day, so I decided against giving it a go - but hey, they might work!
I'm trying to really listen to my body today. I ate crackers BEFORE getting out of bed, which helped, and I'm trying to have a small snack as soon as a start to feel really sick. Seems to be helping a bit. At least I have managed to get some stuff done today, since I spent the last 2 days either sleeping or lying on the couch!
Good thinking on the Ginger beer TroutPout - will get some today i think. Last time around I ate so many ginger nuts, I don't think I could face more of those!

Hi Ladies,
Found out on Thursday that I'm pregnant with baby number 2. Complete surprise and I'm still in shock. Haven't been to the Dr or midwife yet but I think I'm around 5 weeks which makes me due at the start of Feb... Freaking out a little as I still haven't lost all my weight from the first pregnancy
This was totally NOT on my schedule for this year... crikey!
