That depression causes the body not to function as it should and one of the areas it can effect is your weight loss. As your metabolic rate slows, due to depression.
I didn't know this, until the doctor told me today.
I suffer from depression you see. I was wondering why my healthy eating was doing nothing, so I mentioned it and she told me it'll be due to my depression. Also, apparently it wasn't my thyroid issues this time causing havoc on my weight loss efforts.
Ok, so I need to get happy again and then I'll start losing again.
But did anyone else know this about depression?

stress also makes your body hold onto the weight more too.

Yes and stress makes some people eat more....then again so does boredom.
I eat out of boredom and when I'm stressed, I go for the chocolate. BUT, chocolate is high in anti-oxidants!

Not all chocolate is good though or got antioxidants. I only eat the high cocoa content chocs now.

The stress thing makes sense, as its your body's way of protecting itself and ensuring you have fuel for reacting to the stress its experiencing.
Exercise is the best foil to stress - helps relieve stress and weight loss as well.

Exercise produces seretonin in your body which is the happy hormone, so exercise is both good for your mind as well as your body
