If more the merrier I'm In!

Have been procrastinating for the last several weeks....
lost 4 kg early winter but have put it all back on argh...

Didn't realise it was 14 weeks to Christmas what a great motivator james The kick up the backside that I SO desparately needed.

My goal is to get under 70 kg but to lose 10 kg would be awesome.

Count me in - have stalled after loosing 4kg and doing well with walking.

Would like to feel comfortable in shorts and t-shirts plus being able to comfortably wear my jeans would be a huge bonus!! Need to drop 2 dress sizes and 10kg I reckon. would like to be closer to 70kg by christmas.

ETA: 5km a da Peachy! I'm super impressed!

OK, I did pretty well today with some good eating habits - I am a shocker for pigging out on sweet stuff and picking at whatever I can find - muesli bars, biscuits etc.

I am currently 91kg and want to get back to 80kg. I am over 6ft tall.

Need to get walking! Peachy, when do you fit in 5km walks? Do you take the kids or go when DH is home?

Bel, I do it when L is at kindy, its the only chance I get to go. I also go on the weekends with DH and he pushes L in one pushchair and they run the 5kms and I push C in the MB and walk at my own pace. I am thinking of getting a second hand double MB so I can take them both. Would be a good workout pushing both of them!

The bribe to get L in the pushchair is a stop off at the park for a swing and then a quick stop at the dairy for a lollipop

OK I should join in here ... I started working out for a while then have done nothing the last couple of months cos I had a cough that lasted forever and kept getting sick. I've just started logging food on mfp again (but struggle to stay under calories if I don't exercise!).

My goals are:

- Lose 5-6kgs of baby weight I still have
- RUN the 6km funrun I've signed up for in dec (I am NOT a runner!)

Definitely needing some motivation!!!

Count me in!

As of last week I was 74.6 kilos I have a weigh in on Wednesday not too sure how it will go since I didn't track over the weekend and DD turning so back on track as of today. My goal with weight watchers is to get down to 68 but my ultimate goal will be 65 kilos.

Count me in too! I want to lose 10kg by Christmas. Then I told myself I'ld get a spray tan :-) I thought this after seeing those two gorgeous models on Amazong Race last night. Omg if only to look at good in a bikini! Shame my husband was watching also...!

The last two weeks I have been writing down a bunch weekly goal of weekly goals of things to do. The idea is that I just chip away at it throughout the week when I get a chance. Just doing it in my lounge at home with one set of weights.

So it goes like this... Planks 10min. Sit-ups 400. Biceps 200. Shoulder press 200. Triceps 200. Squats 200. Run 40km.

So first week I got to about a third of most... Realized I was quite ambitious!! Thought I'ld leave the goals the same, and hope one week I'll make the goals!!

Oh, and I read online this interesting online challenge. Called 100 burpees. Day 1 you do one burpee, day 2 you do 100 and so on for 100 days. Supposedly you would be quite toned by the end as it equals about 5050 burpees!! I'm not so keen, but if someone else is I might join them :-)

Okay here is good luck to our Christmas goals!!

So is it 1 burpee on day 1 then 2 on day 2, 3 on day 3 etc? If so, I can do that! you said 100 on day 2 - if it jumps up that quickly then maybe not!?

Haha, sorry typo! It was day 1 is 1 burpee, day 2 is two burpees. So you slowly build up.

I did my one today. Man I was unco! It didn't look or feel very good. I think i need practise. I did google it to make sure I did it correctly

DH is going to do it also.

Anyone know how to get abs like that model off Amazing Race Australia on tv tonight? Total ab envy!

Wow Jazzy I read what you did, and then the time of your post 10.30am.....boy do you get a lot done in the morning!!! Great work!

So talking to my waxing lady today (needed the distraction of conversation..!) and she is seeing a Nutritionalist and she mentioned a few things like, eat lots of protien and no carbs for dinner. That sounded like a great easy tip, I might start trying that.

Anyone else got some easy tips?!?

lol, it was so light this morning & was rather organized that I had dinner(crock pot), beds, washing, shower, kitchen clean & dishwasher unloaded & re-stacked b'fast & lunches for 4 all done & out the door by 8.30am & then went for my walk at 9am after the school drop off. Next week we will be walking to school so I will be able to add extra kms as trying to get back up to what I was doing.

I went to a diet place yrs ago & lost heaps of weight. This was what I did...had fruit as much as I wanted for b'fast, lunch & dinner was protein or carbs (not mixed) & you always had a salad or veg..I can look for the info if you want.

smw85 - OK will do my two burpees tonight too.
Abs? I had them when I was doing kickboxing 3 mornings a week - it was awesome for the abs. But I was also in my 20s then, doing weights and yoga and cardio at the gym too, and about 50-52kgs. 2 c sections later I doubt I'll ever see them again! lol

lilfatty - yep thats the one. Wondering why I signed up now - since I've done nothing for months after a cough I just couldn't shake - and given that I hate running and all! hehe.

Oh very motivating with the list Jazzy.

Me = goal 70kg start 95kg now 80kg loss 15kg

Today I did my three burpees and boy they are hard! I also went for a 10km run pushing my boy in the stroller which is getting heavy and I realized is about 25kg in total I'm pushing. But did it in 1.01hr which is great.then I got the awesome runners high afterwards!

Need to work on my core, but finding the lack of carbs I've eaten during later part of the day are helping with that tight cutting in feeling in my stomach from my jeans, not so uncomfortable anymore. Ya!

Limochick, tankinis are a great invention! You must be lucky and not have many stretch marks. I will never be able to wear a bikini again... Lol

Just did my 3 burpees. Thats the only effort I've mad so far though! Will weigh in tomorrow to get an accurate start weight. I've got another cough / sore throat today ... DS has a horrible cough / asthma and is miserable and has just gone on steroids again tonight (was up half of last night too coughing and he never gets up in the night!) so its not been the best day. We even got KFC for dinner, as I'd been working all day and DH was home with two sick kids, and neither of us had much sleep last night.

So ... hmmmmm .... will start trying tomorrow!!!

well not liking the 13 weeks till xmaslol
but am liking the idea of a challenge as ive lost 12 kgs so far but havent done a thing since getting back from queenstown (our first holiday/ time i had left the kids. Our oldest has just turned 5years old)our holiday was back in july lol i was at the gym 3-4 times a week but got sick and been off and on with colds/ flus chest infection that went to my lungs etc and at the moment im finally getting over another chest infection! so as of today im trying to get back on track.
i wont be taking my gym off hold yet as ive got 3 papers due by xmasish time and im now working 8 hours a week plus running 3 playgroups lol so just dont have time to go at night when hubby is home, as its a real juggling act.
right so all my excuses done my current weight is 75kgs and im hoping to lose 5 - 10 kgs and be 65-70kgs. but only lose 1 more dress size. i started as tight 16 now a tight 12. so only want to be a 10 at the least.
oh and hoping im not to late to join.

what is a burpee? sounds like a great challenge!
is anyone doing weight watchers? (my sis in law has lost nearly 15kgs from doing the new pro point plan! just a motivator for us all) ive got all the 'old' books and really wanting to try the new pro points but dont want to spend the money as im quite slack with tracking etc whats the difference? i know fruit is now free etc.

How do you do a burpee?

Posted By: smw85
Date Posted: 23 September 2011 at 2:51pm
Wow, some great work girls!! It's such a beautiful day today I'm going to go for a walk later :-) oh I can just feel summer around the corner!

Oh sounds like a few are doing the burpee challenge. CAHM a burpee is ....

Stand, squat with hands on ground, push feet behind you so in push up position. Do a push up (agh, so hard - Bizzy modified pushups sounds great!) after pushup go back to squat/crouch with hands on ground, then jump up straight and throw your hands up.

Ha! It sounds lengthy but the idea is you do that fast. They are awful. But I've been told they are a full body workout! If that is a confusing explanation I would recommend YouTube :-)

CAHM weight watchers sounds great, I have heard of lots of people losing weight on the new pro-points plan. I don't know much more than you know. My friend I'm meeting to walk this avo is doing the Dukan diet from Womens weeky few weeks ago, sounded really good and she lost 5kg and 20cm from all around. I'm sure I'll get more details today :-)

lmao when you were all talking about burpee's I thought you were talking about burps

I'm doing weight watchers and have been since February, I've now lost 26kg and I can't recommend it enough it's the best plan ever. It's not a diet either cos you can still have a life and treats!!

Yes Limochick today is another day - unfortunately not much better than yesterday! lol. Well a bit better - just the twisties I've been eating tonight were not great. I did my 4 burpees. Still no real exercise as I've come down with DS's cough/cold. So over all the bugs the kids and me have had the last few months! DS is on 5 days of steroids so hopefully he'll come right fast.

anyway ... weighed in this morning - 60.3kgs. Goal will be 55kgs (I was 54kgs pre-kids, less in my 20s, but 55kgs seems achievable and is a round number). My other goal is to run 6kms!

Well done on your big walk Limochick!
thanks for doing the list Jazzy.

Oh - I tried to come in and put my weight in this morning at work -- it tells me I'm logged in when I open OB, but then when I go into the forums its says I'm not - but as soon as I go to "log in" it says I'm already logged in! Weird. so I can't post at work!

Right girls practice is over its game on time.

I have my food planned & I am not eating with the family, so that will make it easier for me. I am going to extend my walk..& am hoping by Monday AF will have settled down & be gone by weigh day.

Think I need to do a list & stick it on the fridge of why I want/need to lose weight.

Hey ladies great work on all that walking! I stuck to my weight stuck to my watchers points yesterday and going well today! However I stupidly took hubby with us to do grocerys and MAN he added $50 extra onto the usual with junk food!!!!! Chips, choc biscuits and other yummy bits I just about murdered him in the shops lol but I'm gunna let the kids eat all his chips etc tonight while watching a movie hahahahaha so he will get home and lots will be GONE as I don't have much will power! How's does everyone else get around issues like that?

charlotteandhuntersmummy...I have the same problem, DH wants to eat crap & I am weak. Last yr I was so focused I did not care, I never ate with the family & made my dinner after I got back from my 6km walk. I need to get back into that mentality.

Am I too late to join in?

I'm not sure of my current weight, but it's crept up there since stopping BF'ing almost a month ago.
I *think* I'm about 68kg (I'm 5'7") but I will weigh myself this week sometime.

I like being between 60 and 65kg (preferably closer to 60). But my main goal is to tone up.

I'll be doing pilates every day, at home, for muscle tone and walking for aerobic/cardio.
I walk Hannah to kindy 4 days a week - it's 1km each way, so 4km a day. But it's usually fairly slow-going as she prefers to dawdle next to the pram.
I'm thinking I might re-structure my route when picking her up so I add in an extra 20 mins (including two hills) of walking.

So, if you could please add me to the list?
Current weight: TBA (roughly 68kg)
Goal weight: 60kg
Dress/Bikini size: 10

Good luck ladies!

Don't feel motivated to go out walking this weekend, hope AF eases up tomorrow as will be walking.

Need to up the exercise as I don't want to worry to much about food. Should just be able to cut out the crap & smaller portions & keep water up & that should be enough.

Welcome mamapickle

James - yay for the day off!!

Jazzy - sorry to hear that af is being a pain I hope it goes away for you soon and your motivation comes back!!

The whole family just went for a walk around the Mount (hard work pushing the double pram) and I got home to check how far it is and it's only 3.5km

well done...when I go for my walk around the park it is only about 4.2km but it is a harder walk than my 6km around the block walk, because of the steep hills, different terrain & running up & down steps. So when I looked at how long I had done & only 4.2km I felt disappointed but my body felt it...so I recon pushing a double pram is extra workout..I did it for yrs so I know lol & they only get heavier ha ha

has anyone seen the program "Embarrassing fat bodies"? saw a couple of them last night that I had myskyed, some really good information on it.

Right DH has been called into work so while he is out I will do a blitz attack on the place...better get my mop & bucket ready, lol

Any work with a stroller is extra effort!! especially on rough terrain like the Mount Path.

We DH and I both got food poisoning yesterday and it was terrible! But he lost 2.5kg and I lost 2kg. But I don't recommend it as a weight loss. Plus I am sure I am going eat up that 2kg in next few days!

I can't watch that embarrassing fat bodies, it grosses me out! But I do like it.

Did burpee no 3 today. Did them straight after i got out and bed and had been to the toilet and just before i weighed myself! Then walked to the market with the kids, maybe about a 15 min walk, and then got caught in the rain! Walked home a shorter way because of the rain but did run down our street with the pram... well more like a jog and i went past at least 4 lamp posts! Mind you i did scoff a few of those hot mini donuts they sell as it was cold and the man gave us a few extras. *sigh*

It did feel like more of a workout so I'll take it and I guess it's better than doing nothing

Jazzy - I watch it every week!! I found out one week what surgery I need lol, its called an apronectomy

SMW - sorry to hear that you both got food poisoning that sounds horrible, I've never had it!! Hope you are feeling better.

Bizzy - well done on doing your burpees and the jog I had a cupcake yesterday lol I think we still have to have little things every now and then otherwise it isn't sustainable!!

same here must do some tummy exercises

I found it really interesting when they had that family & were working out how many cals they burnt while asleep, so it make me wonder since you burn x amount while asleep & x amount while doing everyday stuff then when do you start to burn the fat you have stored...also taking into account how many cals you eat in the day & how many you burn while exercising.

Feeling much better today, had some sushi for lunch... Yum yum!

Great work with the jog Bizzy. Just think you would have had the donuts anyway :-) I truly absolutely believe running is amazing. That is how I have lost over 15kg in the past few months. No diet, not other exercise just running. And I started with two lamp posts :-) and now I'm addicted.

Mmmm, donuts yum, that really has got stuck in my food brain now :-)

Okay so what is a apronectomy? Is that from last week where the Mum had tummy flap from babies? I can see mine will get worse after more babies. Sounds a great idea!

I do want to watch that program my DH absolutely hates it! I watched 20/20 about extreme diets and he couldn't watch the guy who drunk his own urine! Ew... Fast forward that...

Jazzy - when you find out what tummy exercises you need to do please let us know

SMW - yay for feeling better and yum sushi!! I agree with the running, it does really help. The apronectomy is where you get that flap removed. Mine is really bad cos I've had 3 c-sections and surgery recently which is a little bit higher it's hideous

My oldest son had his soccer prize giving this avo and we played a game of parents verse kids it was really fun. We are having fish'n chips for tea but I've worked out what I can have with my points. I was also supposed to get some new sneakers (I can't run in mine cos I keep getting injuries and blisters) this weekend but bills keep coming in

Awww no good that the new sneakers will have to wait.

Well done on all the walking (and jog) girls!!

charlotteandhuntersmummy --- I have the same problem with my DH -- he was home with a sick DS on friday so did the shopping - sooooo much junk food in the house now! and I struggle not to eat it!

Better do my burpees now -- did them yesterday -- not sure how many I'm up to, but I think 6 today.

Went to a kids b'day disco yesterday, so hopefully the dancing I did burnt off the pizza and chippies. Have lost my voice today, so we've had a lazy day with me and the kids all a bit sick still.

Sounds like everyone is doing pretty well. Haven't done any exercise today but haven't been procrastinating on computer so at least thats something. Think will take kids for a walk when they wake up.

Don't think have been good enough on food really, eating healthy enough food just a bit much of it. Hoping Dh will get on board too talked to him about it last night I don't have any will power when he is eating yummy stuff such as chips watching rugby on Sat.
