This can be a weekend thing or a week day thing. Whatever suits.

For parents and parents to be. And even those TTC.

Come and connect with your fellow Wellingtonian and surrounding suburbs OHBABY members.

Whether you are a 1st/2nd and even 5th time parent, you are welcome to come join. And if you are an expectant parent, you too are welcome! And if you're TTC, come hang out with us and you can play with babies/toddlers and cluck over preggy bellies, until it's your turn

You don't need to be specifically in Wellington. Anyone from surrounding suburbs, even Kapiti and Hutt Valley are welcome. It's simply a matter of whether you are happy to travel.

I am totally open to suggestions for venues. And of course, whichever venue we choose for a meet up, it will be child/baby friendly.

Once we have established some members, I can make a FB group for you all to join, those of you who are on FB. And for those of you who are not. I will keep things up-to-date on here.

I'm not too sure what you mean by that.

I created this one to cover all areas. As some of the previous ones I created just covered, Wellington or Northern Suburbs and parents to be and new parents. So I've created the latest one to cover the wider Wellington area and anyone who comes on here, including those TTC. I also created it to cover more days. As many people have expressed interest in meet ups and they are only available on weekends, so I have made this one to take that into consideration.

I just mean there are so many threads, just have one that covers all areas. Ok this one has it in the title but it gets confusing having so many!

I don't come in here much because I get confused plus I liked the old group. But that died so now I can't be bothered!

Yeah, the old thread died. Thus why I made a new one, to cover everywhere and everyone, as I said in an above post.

Having a coffee group thread and a meet up thread is not excessive. Oh well, you just can't please everyone, which is fine by me

Hey Lily Welcome.

Are you keen on coming into Wellington ways for meet ups?

We can do places closer to you if that helps. Like Aotea Lagoon when it's fine. What days are good for you?

-------------

Date Posted: 14 December 2011 at 2:10pm
yeah, porirua area is easy for me to get to as my partner works there, so i can get a lift in with him. I think theres a bus to aotea lagoon too so should be good. :) Im good any day of the week, at the moment my partner has tues and weds off so would prefer not to be then. Though I'm sure he'd go entertain himself while i had social times lol

Posted By: escadachic
Date Posted: 14 December 2011 at 6:35pm
Ok cool. Wish this damn weather would clear up! As it's hard to organize Aotea Lagoon presently, due to this weeks weather.

Did you want to be added to the facebook group page?

There is the likes of Chipmunks in Tawa too. Though that cost for kiddies over 12 months. Or there's always the mall.

Yeah add me to the facebook page, that'd be great. I totally agree about this weather it stinks comnpletely. Porirua mall does have a few coffee shops etc so that would be ok on the bad weather days.

Hi Mummies,

I've recently moved to NZ from the UK with my husband and 11 month old baby girl. We're living just outside Wellington city centre (Wadestown).

I'm still finding my feet and plucking up the courage to drive but would love to join you for your next meet-up!

Now that the hoobie is back at work I'll be desperate for some adult conversation and I've still not met anybody - I'm not sure if it's shyness, stupidity or just laziness - but I need to make more effort, especially as it's dawned on me recently how far I am from family and friends without a support network.

I've requested to join the FB group. Also, if anybody has any recommendations for baby groups in Wellington I'd really appreciate it.

hi UK2NZMummy i'm originally from uk too! where were you? My son is nearly 11months. :)

Date Posted: 20 February 2012 at 5:55pm
As much as it makes people cringe...Essex! What about you? When did you get here? Have you registered with Plunkett or joined any baby groups?

How are you finding things with your son? My daughter has started throwing her arms around during mealtimes and seems much happier eating finger foods at the moment. I'm running out of ideas to feed her! She also has no intention of crawling any time soon!

Date Posted: 20 February 2012 at 8:16pm
Welcome UK2NZMummy

I have added you on FB group.

Wadestown is nice. I used to live there a few years back. I personally really like that it's really close to Otari-Wilton bush. A nice way of getting back to nature, while still near the city.

And yeah it's hard without family here. My parents are in Australia and my fiancee's parents are just so slack it's not even worth them being in the same city.

If you want some ideas of things to do in Wellington, maybe create a thread in 'general chat'. The Wellington members on here should give you some ideas.

I'm in Churton Park, so I'm only aware of what's on over here.

hehe, i always cringe cause i'm from the noth ner newcastle. used to be full on geordie! i've been here since december 2005. So lost the geordie accent a bit!

My son is exactly the same with food, he only wants finger foods. He's currently loving eating whole cherry tomatoes at once.

We're registered with Plunket. our lady up here in Paraparaumu is quite nice. :)

Every bub crawls at their own rate so dont worry! Some babies go straight to walking and skip crawling entirely!

Plunket gave me a sheet with finger food ideas on it that been really helpfull with Logan.

Hi, I'm a working single Mum and I'm looking for a coffee group or Mum & baby classes in Wellington (I live in Melrose), as I'm feeling a little cut off from things at the moment with all the classes for mums & babies being held during the week & usually in the mornings. So weekends are the only time I would be able to meet up.
I would love to see if there is anything out there that I could join in with..
My daughter is just 7 months old.
Thanks..

ps. I too am originally from the UK (Somerset)

Hey ladies,

I'm 14+1 weeks pregnant with #1! :)
I'm currently living in Hamilton with my fiance and he's been offered a new job in Wellington! Long story cut short, I'll be delivering bubs up here but once we are both ready to go, we'll be making the move down.
I used to live in Wellington ages ago but don't really know anyone down there, so I would LOVE to get in contact with some Wellington mummies

Looking forward to (hopefully) hearing from you guys soon!

Posted By: escadachic
Date Posted: 13 March 2013 at 10:58pm
Oh awesome!

Yeah I didn't know hardly anyone when I moved here after having my 1st baby. But yeah, Wellington is a lovely place and people are really friendly here I find.

Congrats on the pregnancy by the way!

I'm 19wks preggers tomorrow

So would you be due in September then?

You are welcome to join our FB group if you want. Let me know if you'd like to and I can P.M you with the details.

Thank you
Due in September, 2 different due dates though, 10th is my midwifes date and the 15th is my scan date. So I just say mid September if anyone asks me! Haha.
So it would make me 13+5 or 14+2 weeks whatever way you wanted to look at it. Congrats on your pregnancy! Can't wait to be that far along lol.
I would LOVE to join your FB group! Would I still count even though I don't live in Wellington yet?

I try to organize it when I can. But it's not happened for a few weeks so far.

It's just trying to sort times that suit others and go from there.

As for where, I'm open to location. It can either be at one of our homes or at a cafe or park.

The link is up above on this page somewhere if you want to go join us on FB.
